im going to try this tonight on a wig before i do it for real. im going to do it just like you did. wish me luck ! it looks easy enough. and you made it so clear! thanks
@colakissed Glad you felt confident to try this! It can be confusing at first while you work out which way to cut on each side (up or down) is more comfortable for you. Hope you find it easy!
Can I ask, why are you pulling the left section 'out' the way, yet the right section is kept quite close to the face? Does it matter what angle you're pulling the hair out?
@trixieuk Hi, in answer to your question - I'm right handed so I find I have to cut upwards on one side and downwards on the other side. Everybody finds that they have an easy side to cut and a more difficult side for this reason. As long as your scissors are curving round in the same shape, and you keep checking the length on both sides then it doesn't matter all that much what angle you hold the hair
@muskndusk it depends. Those hairdressers are probably doing a forward layer, in which case they pull everything forward right from the back first, creating more of a V cut on the length at the same time.
Será que não não tinha outro lugar nessa casa /???? pelo que eu sei COZINHA não é lugar pra se cortar cabelo......... completamente sem noçãooooooo!!!!!
thanx i havent been to beauty school in years n needed a lil refresher on layers this helped so much all the other vids on layering don't teach very well
hey, just wanted to say thanks for the great video, just got my nvq2 2 weeks ago and doing a long grad in 2 hours and wanted something to just refresh myself. your video is great and easy to follow, thanks hun.
Hey, i have to say your video has helped me alot. i have my long grauated vut on monday for my assesment and this video of yours has really helped me alot. have you got a short grauation video?
@graeme777 Hi there, glad I could help with this video! I haven't got a short graduation video yet, but I've had several requests for one so I'll get that video done in the next week and get it online for you.
Hi!Can I just say that this has really really really helped me.Can I ask do you have a short graduation video? It is one of my last cuts to be assessed on and am finding it hard....or even if you could email me that woul dbe fab.Rachelxx
@rachy86w Thanks glad I've been able to help! I'm preparing a short graduation video this week to go up. I'm going to do a short graduated bob first then a proper short haircut using graduation so hopefully those will be useful to you.
I am an owner of a salon who watched all 4 of your tutorials, and i think you did a great job! You are really helping alot of students and stylists to have better knowledge of how to do layers 'correctly'. There are stylists everywhere who have been cutting hair for yrs who STILL do not cut layers properly. Great job! :)
Hi! I really love your videos. Anyway, I'm attempting to do this cut on myself but I have a sideswept bang. Well, not so much sideswept...I had a straight accross bang and it's grown out enough so i can comb it to the side with my part...should I follow the steps exactly as in the video, or are there alternate steps I should follow due to the bang?
@biglovelydoodle you can still follow the steps shown in the video. If you want, you can clip your bangs out of the way while you do the haircut then after youve shaped around the front let your bangs down and blend them into the rest of the hair by chipping into the ends to break up the line. And you always perform this haircut on a centre part, then part it at the side once youve finished the cut to make sure it is balanced so you wont have to do anything differently there either
Short, long too if you want to. You are amazing to do this for all us people who need good teaching!! haha, but yes that is me, I can't learn from class or a book. I'd be willing to buy your videos.
@miandalus Ok, I'll do those for you. And Thanks! I just enjoy sharing my own skills as I know how hard it was for me learning - I couldn't find the right aids anywhere and I found it frustrating.
Glad to help :) I have done a video on a concave, one-length bob, but the next one will be a graduated bob (the modern wedged bob) so check back soon for that video. Thanks for watching
Thank You again, I really enjoyed the one length hair cut, I am new student in cosmo, but your hair cuts help me alot, please do more, I'm really lerning. I'm sorry for my bad English. God Bless You, always.
Thank you so, so much for these 4 very informative and really well done videos! You do a wonderful, technically correct layered haircut! It's so generous of you to share!
