Forgive my inability to ask this the professional way, but I want to do vocal automation using the Vocal Transformer plug-in, and I want to do some really tight auto-tuning automation on my friend's voice. How do I get the automation clicked so that it's straight horizontal, or directly vertical up and down? I just want to use my mouse and click in the automation on each word he sings, but the automation change moves upward in diagonal lines across the screen. Does this question make sense?
@PueErToRRiiGaMErr no, logic is for mac only. Cubase is probably the all round best for sequencing on PC. just moved from a pc and cubase to a mac and logic, god damn does it feel good!
Can you do this type of automation with keyboard sliders for things like vocal transformation? It seems like it would make a smoother sound if done with a slider rather than drawing each point.
Do you or will you have any videos dealing with LATENCY? Some singers I am working with keep complaining about LATENCY in Logic and I would love to see what you would come up with on a complex 20-30 track song (Frozen trks) and cutting the LATENCY down.... Thanks!
try going to Preferences>Audio and check the I/O Buffer Size. You want that to be as low as possible while recording vocals (like 32-128 samples). If your cpu can't handle it (check the CPU usage meter that's displayed in the transport bar, to the right of the tempo) that CPU usage meter will get into the red, which basically means you'll have to set a slightly higher buffer, like 256. While mixing, however, you want to set the buffer higher, 256-512 samples.
Then go to Preferences>Audio>General and check Plug-In Delay. Set Compensation to "All". Also make sure to have your vocal track plugins disabled while recording vocals, especially things like Space Designer or Adaptive Limiter, which induce latency.
nice one homeboy.
