Well whatever floats your boat. I have nothing against the tyle of vocals, e.g. super high vocal lines. On the contrary. It's just Spencer who, to my ears at least, has a terrible mannerism in his voice whenever he goes real high (and that's almost all the time). I don't know whether this is natural or brought about by the production. I know that Spencer's predecessor Casey didn't sound like that and I liked him.

However having a different sound means almost everything in a good show in my eyes. If a band sounds too similar to the headliner than the crowd gets bored. I also think Dream Theater chose Periphery because their very different from today's status quo of music. Fuck im glad that these guys aren't Asking Alexandria because music is turning to shitsadly

I hate it when bands feel the need to replace their screaming vocals with cleans whenever they do a music video. Bullet for My Valentine did it for the video for Waking the Demon, which is 90% screaming vocals on the disc, and now Periphery is doing it here. You know bands shouldn't have to cater to the wants and needs of the masses. What makes most metal bands so good, is that they don't care what the majority thinks and they don't let that influence their music

I'm not comparing Bullet to Periphery AT ALL! I like both bands and I'll admit Bullet has no where near the talent that Periphery has. I love Periphery, and I have no problem with the guys voice, but somehow that's how you took it. The issue I have with this is that they changed their song for the video when the original is perfectly alright and in my mind better than this version. And Periphery isn't the only band guilty of this, I'm not just pointing fingers at them so calm the fuck down.
