Is it hard to shade with a pencil that you would use to write with like pencils a school would give you? do i need a special pencil for lighter shades or do i just lessen the pressure i put on the paper as i draw? like i would gradually let up as i want shades to go lighter and harder to make them darker?

guys are alot easy for me to draw only because females have alot of curves and uh well the breasts part was for some reason never ever came out the way I wanted it. keep in my mind im drawing people that are not NOT naked. I just want to make realistic breasts. lol for guys it just like adding ovals upon ovals. but then again it also depends on your drawing style. I use alot more circle guide lines. they help me the most.

I like your videos because drawing makes drawing drawing!

However, turn off autofocus or tracking focus on your camera and lock the focal length to that of the paper so its always in focus if you don't move the camera. If your hand moves in and out of focus nobody will care, we just want to see the drawing because it is a drawing drawing!

It isn't really a tutorial per se, a lot of important factors are left out, for example, a good point is to make the shoulders line up with the hip joints to give a womanly appearance....otherwise you'll end up drawing what looks like a man in drag!

My first 6 drawing videos have the exposure problem and then I realised it was caused by my arm throwing off the automatic exposure so I made my latest 6 videos with the exposure on manual position as well as the focus on manual. Man, the people that do these tutorials make it look so easy. I just started trying to draw for the first time in my life a couple of days ago, and it's really overwhelming all the stuff you have to learn. I have no idea how to do correct proportions or anything like that. Everything I draw is lopsided and screwy. @Golgonash hahah buddy, check it out, when you try to imitate what you see its going to frustrate you. just use these videos as a mental exercise. when you practice drawing, find photos that you like and try to practice these methods. dont throw away your crappy drawings, they are more important than you think. Embrace it, learning is the most fun about any skill, when you get good, its alot harder to enjoy.

The best thing to do is start drawing basic things. Start drawing cubes, spheres, pyramids, different shapes. Learn to give them depth, make them seem real. Then go up to still lifes or just random objects in your house, simple stuff and go up and up until you start doing people :D

@Golgonash Just practice. Draw from fotos. You must not look at the objects in the way you would normally. Your eyes must be trained to get proprtion, association and position. You should also learn how to deal with perspective. Practicing is the only way. You'll mess it up hundred times before getting it right. This is the price you have to pay.

@Golgonash It's amazing how many people think they will be able to draw from watching a how to draw tutorial. Im a pretty good artist, i don't use rules, and my drawings turn out great, but i've been practising since age 8. don't get frustrated if it doesn't happen overnight, i have trouble with the female form.

It all comes down to practise, but practise smart and remember practise makes permanent. If you practise wrong, you'll develop bad habits that will take a lifetime to correct.
