I can find NO positives about this netbook. I truly regret my purchase, and am highly suspicious of positive reviews. No point telling me battery life is good when the basic netbook is so sloooooow. Not even a word processor with spell check. So can't even use it as a typwriter. And yes, I remove all junkware and re-installed Windows starter AND upgraded memory. Avoid avoid.

@jumpa74 Sorry to say but it does not have a disc drive :(. It should be able to handle downloads etc., just not heavy computing (rendering, video editing etc.). Hope this helps!
People are hating on this computer teribbly, you need to delete bloatware, upgrade RAM, and deleterestore or backup states, and upgrade ur windows 7 to home premium or higher, I can run FL Studio, Photoshop, and After Effects with no issues
I have this Netbook. it starts up much faster than you have just described, runs really well actually. I meets all my computer needs, not too fond of windows 7 starter though. other than that, it's actually the best windows-based computer I've had in my life.....

I have this netbook, And it's the slowest netbook I've ever used. When I watch a YouTube Video, It plays like a slideshow. When I reboot this netbook it takes about 10-15 minutes. I can't even play any game on this thing. I wouldn't recommend this netbook. You're just gonna waste your money. Seriously.

Ive had one of these for about 6 months now except mine is running xp as it was a clearance model because of its age. I LOVE it! It's great for picking up when im in a rush to get to class. Excellent battery life! I get about 9-10 hours if I keep the screen dimmed so it lasts me the whole day. charge it over night and ready to go again the next day.
@frantahouska Sorry you feel that way man, but I left the cover on top just so I would not scratch the gloss surface on top. With regards to the keyboard some are what I would call chicklet keyboards while other are not quite chicklet. But thanks anyways for the comment.
i got this netbook. the bloatware sucks but only for the first time you use it. just remove that stuff when you first boot into windows and it runs like a charm after.
I got this about 2 months ago but never have I expenrience the battery lasting for about 7 hours, my maximum use of it was only 4 hours so far, I dunno what's wrong, I already set it in power saving mode, I lowered brightness, and in the 4 hours I'm using it, it's usually Idle., before, It charges full in only an hour but now, it charges for 1 n half hours, please help, thanks, nice review :)
@lelei27 Interesting, you might have a defective battery...Did you charge it all the way before using it for the first time? Have you cycled it in the last month (run it to zero and charge it all the way back up)? Hope this helps!
@rresttringiddo That is really weird, lowering the brightness is possible. Are you saying that you cannot adjust it at all? If that is the problem it might be either a hardware problem (the lower bright key), or there is something wrong with the software (might need a reinstall). Hope this helps!
Do you recommend installing the full version of windows? The starter one is kind of slow. Also do you recommend upgrading to 2GB Ram? The DDR3 ram card is upwards of $95.

I really don't recommend this netbook. I also got one and there are much better netbooks out there. Though it's good in weigh and comfort. And it's true that there are too many installations. It is samsung brand, it's something you should have already expected.

have the n150 too and the win7 starter version which is installed is very very worse, it is runs very slow, but after installing my own win7 ultimate and it runs wonderful, after a week I bought 2 gigs of ram and iam very impressed, runs perfect

How difficult is it to wipe the hard drive clean and start with just the operating system and nothing else added on? Will I be able to put Windows 7 Starter back on if I delete everything on the hard drive? Or would I have to purchase it before I can reinstall it again?
@EvenSteven2004 Very easy as a matter of fact. You will need a full version of Windows 7 and then just follow the install instructions to wipe the computer clean. Hope this helps!

@bainzeyboy If you are to stick with Samsung, this would not be a bad netbook to get just be prepared to uninstall a few things if you do not want your startup times to be too long (fair amount of bloatware). You might also want to check out the Toshiba NB305 (my personal favorite) or even the latest Acer Aspire One. Hope this helps!
how about running HD Video via VLC player?, would that eliminate lag?, i'm buying a netbook next week, considering this or the Aspire One AOD260, i'm going to remove any preinstalled OS and put on my own choice of Linux.
@DragonRising88 I would highly advise you to take a look at the Acer Aspire one over the N150 due to the fit and finish was better than that of the Samsung. Hope this helps! Also yea there is a bit of lag on HD via VLC, but that is due to the integrated graphics. Look for an ION based netbook if you want to play smooth HD.

@alfredisac Hey, very easy to install additional ram, there should be a compartment that you remove on the bottom of the netbook. Once it is removed there should be two modules in there, just remove them and place the new ram that you have in. It has to however match the same speed and type (DDR2 or DD3) of the N150 (i cannot recall what memory it takes as I no longer have that netbook). Hope this helps!
@kylethepimp1 Hey I would consider the Toshiba NB305 (did a review on it) over the Samsung (personally). The Samsung did not have any issues web surfing or downloading files but startup was slow due to bloatware. Hope this helps!

@EvenSteven2004 Very easy as a matter of fact. You will need a full version of Windows 7 and then just follow the install instructions to wipe the computer clean. Hope this helps!

@abcd12341021 Fairly simple just go into internet options under tools in your internet explorer and it will say delete cookies (probably the main screen). Hope this helps!

@bainzeyboy If you are to stick with Samsung, this would not be a bad netbook to get just be prepared to uninstall a few things if you do not want your startup times to be too long (fair amount of bloatware). You might also want to check out the Toshiba NB305 (my personal favorite) or even the latest Acer Aspire One. Hope this helps!

how about running HD Video via VLC player?, would that eliminate lag?, i'm buying a netbook next week, considering this or the Aspire One AOD260, i'm going to remove any preinstalled OS and put on my own choice of Linux.

@DragonRising88 I would highly advise you to take a look at the Acer Aspire one over the N150 due to the fit and finish was better than that of the Samsung. Hope this helps! Also yea there is a bit of lag on HD via VLC, but that is due to the integrated graphics. Look for an ION based netbook if you want to play smooth HD.

Hello friend, me too bought a samsung n148 recently with a 1gb ram. I would like to upgrade it to 2 gb ram. Please tell me how is it possible to replace my 1gb with a 2gb ddr2 or ddr3 ram. Please review about your system’s performance after the upgrade.

@alfredisac Hey, very easy to install additional ram, there should be a compartment that you remove on the bottom of the netbook. Once it is removed there should be two modules in there, just remove them and place the new ram that you have in. It has to however match the same speed and type (DDR2 or DD3) of the N150 (i cannot recall what memory it takes as I no longer have that netbook). Hope this helps!

@kylethepimp1 Hey I would consider the Toshiba NB305 (did a review on it) over the Samsung (personally). The Samsung did not have any issues web surfing or downloading files but startup was slow due to bloatware. Hope this helps!

@cruzcartoon1 Hey sorry to say but the Windows 7 Starter that comes with most if not all netbooks are stripped down versions of Windows 7. One of the stripped out features is that the wallpaper is not changeble :(. Hope this helps!
