Rippled steaks and Debbie's cakes, when u dj, the 13 year olds quake. Chef Boyarde and gravy boats, mcgriddle cakes will make you float. Eating sausage out of a bag dude? Slurpees and nachos in the nude? All signs point to Paul Blart, cannot endure another SOC fart. Scubba Steve and Taser Ted, fills my mind with fear and dread. Legends come and legends go, and you my friend will reap what you sow.
and she runs..and she waits.. and I wait.. an' in the morning--into Mexico ... I can't believe she's really here and I'm lying in that bed.. i stumble in that hallway I press against that door
One of my all time favorite songs. My second concert was the The Toadies, live at the Bronco Bowl in Fort Worth, Texas in 1997. I was 14 at the time, and I remember everyone going crazy when they played this song.
Top 50 rock songs of all time! call me crazy but if you are reading this something has fated you here............listen carefully my newly initiated soul.
thats funny because my buddy has the pixies song Where is My Mind? on his shuffle... and whenever it comes on im like "its tyler!"... but im always wrong :)
Most bands are 1 or 2 hit wonders, with possum kingdom for the toadies, but it's #1 hits that bring back bitter sweet memories of a crushed heart from highschool. Strange to think this song is about rape. I interpret it as a love song myself.
Oh I'm sure they can still tear the roof off. But when you say a band's name, usually someone will thinkof a handfull of their 60+ songs or how ever many. Tyler always did it for me.
I love the way their songs tell stories, ballads so to speak. Rock today is so pathetic, nothing but cliche lyrics about slutty females. Of course this song is said to be about rape but at least it's unique.
this has always been my favorite song, but just the other day i heard the pixies"where is my mind" kinda made tyler sound a bit like a rip off, still love it though
Im seeing them in Corpus Christi on the 18th when they broke up i was so bummed i never thought i would get to see them again its gonna be fuckin legendary
This album was definitely one of the best when it came out. I saw this band live 3 times and still have one of their concert T's. What happened to them?
I agree, one of the most under-rated albums of my generation...I had it on tape and wore it out...I never liked the all the labels people try to put on music...to me it's another great "Rock" album.
Rubberneck is one of my all time favorite albums fuckin ever (along with Slipknot,Follow the Leader[Korn],L.D 50[Mudvayne],Sacrament[Lamb of God],and Antics[interpol] thought id let everyone know that, i dont know why. This song kicks ass!
you know there's other music out there then rock lol you know that right some of it's even pretty decent you think these people jus listened to rock cuz they didn't corey taylor does a chris isiaac tune which is pop anywayz i love slipknot/stone sour and ofcoarse toadies and i agree rubberneck is one of the best cds and personally i like subliminal verses better i think we get to see more of who slipknot really is their first two cds are jus like one of them
ok anyone calling this grunge is dumb another the the rock in the nineties that deviated from grunge was the best this band smashing pumpkins the nixons stone temple pilots i mean to me grunge was nirvana it was rock that was all bout barre chords and minimalistic solos which is not this band or the ones i jus named
Toadies are grunge or Alt/indie but the music industry labels it as "grunge" its the same with alot of bands in the 90s that are indie but labeled grunge
I saw The Toadies open for R.H.C.P. on the "One Hot Minute"-tour. Nobody wanted them to leave, they were that good. Unfortunately, Navarro-era Chili's were terrible live, and I ended-up leaving midway through their set.
Rubberneck came out in what, '94? Hardly "post-grunge". I used to have the logos of all my favorite bands drawn on the front of my school notebook in grade 9. I was 14 in '94. Toadies logo was on the notebook, goatee was on the chin, plaid-flannel cardigan was on the back. Toadies were of the grunge era. Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Soundgarden were just coming out with third albums around that time.
this is probably my favorite song ever. period. end of story. so many memories i have associated with it. all of them are mostly just dreams now. But i still have this song. never saw em live though, i hear conflicting accounts of them live, so maybe i am not missing anything much.
I just recently rediscovered this band and I also found out they broke up. A bloody fucking shame. Easily one of the most talented bands out there. If I heard that they would reuinite I would probably shit myself with joy.
Its just my opinion and being from the dallas erea and watching these guys for so long that its a shame how record lables can realy fuck you over when your this great. And in my opinion there the third greatist band to come outa texas next to SRV of cource and the greatiset band ever ZZ TOP
This was one of those underrated albums. I liked some tracks on their later records, but thought the later ones were self-conscious overall as a whole. It happens I guess and I could be off the mark in saying that... hope they're still making music and hope I hear some of it.

No this song is about their home town. Tyler Texas i believe. I hope. Rocks testicles either way.
costadelcrimsontide 2 years ago
The song is definitely about some form of rape:
"I stumble in the hallway, outside her bedroom door
I hear her call out to me, I hear the fear in her voice
She pulls the covers tighter, I press against the door
I will be with her tonight!"
(Great song, Great band)
