BTW all I really try to do is turn my hips back and thru..then rip at the ice behind the puck w my right shoulder. Blade slightly inside going back. Back to the inside going thru. Didn't just come to me from some genie though..I had to figure it out..had to learn. Not braggin or anything cause only playin rec hockey my slapshot ain't even the greatest yet. I can hit a golf ball about 300 in the air and am a good athlete..but like golf it took a fair bit of learning to get a decent slapshot.

I was never one for the slap shot, never really to good. Never really tried to many before (probably have taken 3 slap shots in my life) so I went yesterday to open hockey stick and puck, first 5 seconds or open hockey, and the first slap shot I took, I ruptured my thigh muscle... @snayil if anything wrist shots are starting to disapear in favour of the hybrid shot. Slapshots are always popular because of the sheer power and speed you can get. Not necessarily just for one timers but watch the NHL guys burying the puck on the rush with a boomer.
