  • 500 years of Colonialism? I think we apologised for that when we sacrificed our Empire to defend the world from our Nazi's.

  • @4:30 Lol

  • The guy is a moron. To start it's the British empire not English! Second much of the problems where started by the Turkish Ottoman empire, if the Brits and French weren't in the Middle east at the time the Turks and Germans wouldv'e carved up the region. Grasses's arguments are very tenuous... He's NO historian!

  • i'm scared at how many people we have in this country that hates their national heritage and identity

  • SLAVERY? STEVEN, YOU'RE A BERK!!!!!

  • sTEPHEN gRASSE IS AN ARSEHOLE, AND A BIT OF A PISSTAKER!

    Thanks for kentucky fried rat!!!!!!!!

  • You people are a disgrace to our nation and you put the name of people like my grandparents who fought for freedom and world wide equality in both world wars in jeopardy. how dare you soil the name and reputation of OUR fallen heroes who died DEFENDING YOUR RIGHTS AS A HUMAN BEING!

  • Michael a sensible brit sounds like he hasn't taken his heroin supplement for a number of days and has run out of poo poo pills thus forcing him to excrete whilst talking which is why he sounds so odd. But seriously - michael, we dont fucking want you buddy, if you hate britain so much why dont you screw off somewhere more "moral" like north korea. Or China. See how long you prosper without the NHS and a true democracy. imbucile.

  • Any Americans that jump to conclusions please read a book by an actual historian: Empire: How Britain made the Modern World by Niall Ferguson

  • I just love how the American accent and its style reduces the British ones to squallids. As shown in this videos. God bless America.

  • @sonnyk88 Well, fuck you. Bastard Americunt.

  • @sonnyk88 lol. his monotonous drivel is not an accent... it's like listening to a 10 year old call of duty player giving us a run down on world history, and actually believing he's right. Why cant you caravan dwelling troglodites evolve as quickly as we have and let the 1700's slide hey? go get a job and stop making children with your relatives - we learnt that this is a bad thing about 3000 years ago, you guys clearly have a bit of catch up to do. why cant you be cool like other americans?

  • @tantorecords and @MONKEYJAW89

    I am not American.

  • @sonnyk88 HA HA ARGENTINA. You come from one of the biggest shit holes on the planet, a country where your people are treated like shit by your government and cant even defend yourselves.

  • @tantorecords My government treats me really, really well. If you've never been to Argentina, then don't even comment about it.

  • @sonnyk88 One of the biggest s*** holes? ROFL... Argentina's the 23rd most important economies in the world, it's actually an emerging power.

  • @sonnyk88 wow 23rd. thats amazing ;/ just behind what.... the netherlands? lol

  • @sonnyk88 I have been to Argentina, those people who live in your large amount of Slums wouldn't agree with you, and lets be honest you harbour Nazi's, congratz your a backwater shithole.

  • He's not a Historian at all!

    The industrial revolution, c'mon!

The money goes to a renowned charity of your (PUBLIC) choosing.

    Let me prove you right!

Empireisevil, put yourself to that very test!

    NOW!

Even Alabama won't fall for this detritus.

  • Why do Brits think they won the War of 1812. You burned Washington D.C, so what? The Battle of New Orleans was the most lopsided victory in American History. And what territory did you get from us? None. After the war were you still free to impress American sailors? No. Were you still supporting Indian raids on American settlers? No. All these were causes for the war, and all these were won for the U.S. because of the war. We didn't lose the war. The only people who really lost were the Indians.

  • Comment removed

  • does this steven realize that the dutch kicked off the slave trade????

  • you kicked our asses? you ignorant fucktard get your fucking facts right before you start to rant about historical events you pathetic anglophobic retard because we beat you by miles in any way that you look at it. (except of course the american way which claims that america always wins)

  • @hellom12345

why don't you relax and take a chill pill there?? lol!

  • Did we make the atomic bomb? twat

  • @44Kkrozzy Actually yes. The Atomic Bomb was created by British, American, and Canadian scientists.

  • @EJJ7439er

and i guess they also drop the bombs on japan 2???...Go have sex with your cousin then marry her while you wear your KKK ghost robes to scare black people and suck some republicans dick while reading the bible and sipping Jesus juice mixed with moonshine....the only Americans who agree with this are hilly billy patriots who hate everything that is not american ;P

  • Omg, John totally owned him. What was that guy at the end trying to say about Hitler?

  • Will this cunt stop saying England when he means Britain.

  • You are twat go fuck yourself. Its because of people like nice people in England also has to suffer I had it with hooligans like you. I am going to end this conversation. You are clearly an intellectually challenged person so to argue intelligently with you is like talking to a brick wall. GOOD BYEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Only Americans I would say are probably equally hated in the world with the English but that is only because of the current American Empire, which as Steven Grasse correctly says the Imperialists in Washington DC learnt all their Evil from the British Empire. So when people in UK pick on Americans its like the pot calling the kettle black. People like you unfortunately will make sure England continues to be hated for a while yet, unfortunately the good people in England has to suffer that too.

  • To britishreparations,

America is just as bad, if not worse than the British. America is indirectly responsible for the murder and torture of millions through CIA regime changeswith US tax dollars.

Gen. Pinochet, Chile, 3,000 dead, 400,000 tortured

    Gen. Videla, Argentina, 30,000 dead

    Suharto, Indonesia, 830,000 dead

    Shia of Iran, Iran, Unknown

    21 more US backed dictators.

    Your a ignorant hypocrite.

  • also americans only have like 600 years of history

  • @aidanyoshi

Really? 600 nyears of American history?

Wow! I'm impressed to say the least.

America just had its 235th birthday last month so I don't understand where you get 600 years.

  • XD Steven Grasse is a dick

  • when will americans apoligise for killing 400000 iraqs, millions of people in vietnam and cambodia, and many people in afghanistan and so on and so fourth

  • eh? kick us out? what does he mean by that?

  • I like Steven Grasse its about time Americans started calling England out.If the press and people in England don't like it tough. Maybe instead of watching Eastenders, Coronation street, x factor, big brother getting drunk at the pub,or mindlessly chanting at football games maybe if they spent time reading up history books watching history programs.Remove their rose tinted glasses, they will realise that Steven Grasse speaks the truth and makes a hell of lot of sense. England did ruin the world.

  • @rohanmarkjay Think of all the good things england also done for the world 2. I fyour acutally going to trace it back to the "root" what you think is the British empire. It's not england it's the romans, Idiot. Theres another interview when a man says what I said (about the roman) and the american guy relised his mistake ( after writing a whole book about it -_- ) and then changed it from being the British Empire to now saying that it's the whole of europes fault.

  • @JammyBullet1 Hey Mr Imperialist if you can't face upto the wrongs like a man that your country has done to the world and continues to do to the world, Libya today. Its not my problem, your big fat ego won't allow you to admit to the crimes that England is commiting and is continuing to commit in the world. Listen you pathetic idiot excuse for a human being. Should the Germans pass the buck and say the reason they bombed London and killed thousands of poeple is because of the Romans?

  • @JammyBullet1 So next time you meet a german I hope he tells you the reason all those bombs were dropped on Britain is because of the Romans? I would like to see the look on your arrogant fucking face then. Grow fucking brain and most importantly Go away! Actually the rest of the world would like to see pricks like you go away! But no you continue to bomb Libya. I suppose you support the bombing of Libya. If you do then your a evil person so the title Evil England will fit you nicely!!!

  • @rohanmarkjay no you do reilise the reason the man stenven A.grasse even then blamed the whole of europe (the american guy in the interview) he said origionaly the pollution is britains fault because the industrial period; whats ridiculous. That the war in the middle3 east is our fault for making iraq. So he's traced it ridiculously far back but if the romans never civilized britain then none of this would have happend ( if he's going to trace it back atleast do it propely)

  • @JammyBullet1 and no I'm not saying it's the romans fault but if he's going to trace things back all the way to the industrial period and blame Britain for that, then I'l trace things back even further, and the fact britain was being bombed by germany isn't Britains fault either (that's what stenven A.grasse) so if he's going to trace things back to hundreds of years ago; to what he consideres the root, I'l trace it back even further; if i can trace it back further (what I did)

  • @JammyBullet1 You are one arrogant Imperialist. The sad truth is because of people like you with your high and mighty Imperialist attitudes the nice English people among you who are intelligent enough and man enough to accept like the germans did of their evil and CURRENT (LIBYA BOMBING) past.

  • @rohanmarkjay The sad truth is your drivel filled rantings show your intellectual calibre. Libya bombing? Maybe NATO (Not England, but you really mean Britain) should've let Ghadaffi massacre the rebels? I also think you will find that not 2 years ago the Queen apologised for the Slave trade, fat lot of good that did anybody. I am a Scot and we still feel the force of English (I mean English this time) imperialism, but I won't hold it against English people.

  • @in3x I admit I may be an intellectual chimpanzee compared to other people. Me to I don't hold it against English people either.I was born in London you know. But at the moment live in Scotland, mainly because London is a bit too expensive for me to live in on my very low income. As for the Libyan situation we are all entitled to our opninions, I just don't agree with the Libya military operation by our Prime Minister Cameron.Libya is an internal problem its not for Britain to decide for it.

  • @rohanmarkjay A fair point and I apologise for my remarks. But it may not be evil to remove the dictator, but what happens afterward should not be decided from outside.

  • @rohanmarkjay no we didn't you wouldn't even have a computer if it wern't for britain

  • @rohanmarkjay that meens britain can't be the root; as I traced it back further.

  • @rohanmarkjay you are so stupid use your brain ¬¬

  • @JammyBullet1 Becauesae of your imperialist attitudes other English people who don't share your views are also bracketed in the same basket and hated around the world. This is sad. But I guess its the price you pay for being part of an evil nation. It may have escaped you but England and English people are the most hated country in the world. Even the Germans and Italians are liked more despite their Nazi past than people like you. Stop blaming Romans for the wrongs that your country did!

  • @rohanmarkjay i'M NOT BLAMING THE ROMANS IDIOT! I'm saying in the Steven Grasse's way of thinking it would be the romans you complete fool! He said that Britains the "root" of everything because of apperently pollution is britains fault for their inventions. What I'm saying is that in his sense of thinking it would the the romans fault for civilizing britain; although I don't blame the romans in his sense of thinking it is... if you still don't understad I'm going to make a video explaining it

  • @JammyBullet1 Dude, we should blame that cunt who invented the wheel, or that bastard who invented fire. Actually the guy who invented writing is the worst.

  • @in3x yeh lol

  • @rohanmarkjay later today or tomorow

  • @rohanmarkjay and btw the americans are actualy the most hated.

  • 1812 we burnt the Whitehouse

  • ...slavery ended ONLY because it was the British needed to standardize the Industrial Revolution.

  • 0:37 Bullshit - dumb yank he means the Americans got there arses kicked then went and got two superpowers - France and Spain to fight it for them.

  • I wonder what he would say if a guy just said " How about we take away everything Britain gave to the world both good and bad, now what kind of world do we live in?"

Chances it are Europe would still be fighting each other and this guy would be unable to use a toilet or a phone or share his views. Hell hes lucky he can write a book.

He can thank Britain for that.

Also America caused the problems in Libya the UK wanted to force a coup against gaddafi in the 60's, America said no.

  • Steven A. Grasse is not a real historian and he gives a bad representation of americans, britain basically founded the modern world with the rest of europe and people like mr Grasse ruin it

  • @BraaaapCam

You're saying that Steven Grasse ruins Britain's s-called contributions?? lol!

  • The guy at the end is wrong, hitler wasn't inspired by england be was inspired by a book called " The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" whcih was not written by an englishman

  • "we kicked your ass again in 1812"..? America begged Britain for a peace treaty and Britain burnt down the white house, that war bankrupted America, the British had kicked Americas ass out of Canada.

    Britain won.

  • @Tommyfungun I laughed as soon as he said that line XD

  • @ViDeOMaStErPaUl I couldn't take him serous after he said that lmao

  • well i know america likes us and you are just rude

  • This guy is a douche

  • Our countries have been mainly forces for good.. Respect to England.

  • Oh and if we never colonised america then This Stephen guy wouldnt even have been born? We are supposedly responsible for a HUGE amount of death, but think about how many lives we have given over the years in america but then again maybe your right. i wish we didnt colonise america, look what we get for it?

  • I think its funny how he says we do not have enough influence anymore, yet. He's having a HUGE debate about the UK lol

as for 1812. Haha. Thanks for proving your ignorance

  • You clean it up? Hmm... more like spreading it.

  • They Kicked our asses so hard in 1812 that there capital exploded and they lost.

    Oh, wait we won.

  • They Kicked our asses so hard in 1812 that there capital exploded and they lost.

    Oh, wait we won.

  • apologies? america bailed england out of world war 2 allegedly but we would not have needed 'bailing out' if american companies did not profit off of the war economy and known anti semites such as henry ford was 'revered' by hitler -mein kampf. his own beleifs which hitler has said he wishes for the same things that henry does, ford made money off both sides of the war, unjust war continues to make the rich richer today s'a thriving war economy. the slaves and immigrants need apologies..

  • the facts are that the entire world hates america full stop i mean seriously the entire earth have atleast threatened america at least but that is mainly because america cant stand on its own all its people are too brain dead

  • God, this Steven Grasse is a complete retard, he thinks that Napoleon kicked the British's ass... i mean wtf?... tard.

  • Grasse takes what is potentially a valid critique and turns it into shit with his bombastic, ignorant attitude.

  • RIGHT.

This american HISTORIAN, just said..... didnt we kick u out in 1776....

No actually to say your a HISTORIAN that remark is amazing seeing how the war started in 1776, then cornwallis surrendered in 1781, peace treaty 1783, and then finally independence recognised by the british in 1783.

Historian? Dont think so steven, maybe stupid, biased, full of shit american who if ever realises how stupidly wrong he really is will go and bury his head.

  • He just needs a big slap.

  • Way to lay down the history, Steven A. lol!

  • the average America does not think about Britain well I think thats wrong ow and did I mention Canada burnt the White house twice and Canada's population is way smaller than yours ow and some things about American business men/women they ownly have one goal make more money they dont care about any one else and there is a film called "Yes Men" its been banned in America cause it says the truth about America saying all America want's is money and the film was made by American's

  • If he hates the UK so much why does he spend all his time talking about us. I don't expecting Americans to think about the British. That's silly anyway. You don't HAVE to think about another country and expecting appreciation. I don't think about the USA but it doesn't make 'em pricks.

    But whatever, he's a TROOOOOOLLLLLLL!

    They see me trollin'

  • @mariotaz Just pathetic, even the books title doesn't make much sense..

Since when did "England" have an empire? that's a direct insult to Scots, Welsh and Irish/Northern Irish

  • @VeryAngryAnglo

Dude, I know. But you're trying to make sense of all of this XD. Just leave the guy to it and his 'historic knowledge'. I know what Britain contains and he only mentions England. But whatever, he has no life. :P

  • @VeryAngryAnglo That is precisely the point "old chap" EEEngland colonised these other nations, so why even mention them! They are sub serviant to the EEEnglish. Long live Shitain!!! Tallo ho old chum

  • 1812

    Kicked our asses

Yes Steven...that's why Washington got burnt to the ground by us. GOOD HISTORY, MATE

  • @meepmeepjeep 1812 Canadians beat us in the war, Canadians burnt down Washington.

  • Oh no he didn't.

    -snaps fingers-

  • i want to know how many people have signed his petition for the uk to pay all the money hes talking about...what blair said about the WMD was to convince the BRITISH people that it was necessary to go to iraq,AMERICANS had the actual idea-britain needed an excuse to bak US's.Also americans are the reason our boys are dying in afghan right now, just because they were too stupid to be able to defend landmarks and US citizens with a 600 billion budget or did it themselves!yes wtc exchanged for oil.

  • @DodgyIdeot

Three letters for you, pal. I R A

So considering that they've been bombing your landmarks for 100 years, I wouldn't be talkin'....lol!

  • @DodgyIdeot

    IRA anyone??

  • Hey baldy!! get your facts straight. The Brits kicked your butt in 1812, and burned the Whitehouse to prove it. Thats just the start of your amazing rambling crap, but I think the spelling of your surname is very significant. French n'est pas? Admiral De Grasse was the French Admiral whose naval intervention won you your independence in 1776, and without them, and the Spanish..you would still be singing God Save the Queen. (I suspect EMPIRE envy is behind this clown.) Rule Britannia!

  • @1066ss

Considering that the IRA's been bombing y'all for 100 years, I wouldn't be puttin' terrorism and stupidity in the same sentence and spinning that accusation our way...lol!!

  • @1066ss

Ignore the first response, that was for Dodgy Ideot....

As for you, y'all lost at Saratoga to weekend warriors and that in turn led to the French and Spanish coming into the War.

French, Spanish, dutch, Americna....hell. they were all lining up to kick your asses back in the day. In 1812, y'all lost at Baltimore and New Orleans. The latter of which was the most lopsided victory in the history of military history...lol!

  • @suryavajra Not really, in 1812 most of the british troops were inexperienced, the most experienced troops were fighting a far more important enemy, Napoleon.

Look up Battle of Crysler's Farm, an embarrasment defeat of the Americans.

The British army are known to survive an ambush and be victorious, no other country has EVER done that.

  • @VeryAngryAnglo

Well you had troops fighting all over the world. That's what they call Imperial Overstretch.

  • @suryavajra Course we did, thats probably why we went downhill, just like all the other empires in history.

  • @VeryAngryAnglo

The patterns as to why Empires collapse are remarkably similar. You have fiscal and economic problems combined with too many foreign entanglements.

  • @suryavajra Indeed, we were following the Portuguese and Spanish overseas exploration which ended up with the USA being born and so on.

  • @VeryAngryAnglo

indeed, exploration and trade are very important in all Empires. However this is only the early part of the Empire. I'm taking about the later times, after the empires reach their zenith and are on their way down.

  • @suryavajra Of course, it seems to feel that what is the point of having an empire at all, but, it just the way it was....

  • @VeryAngryAnglo

Well you've gotta wonder about the point of it all. Though I suppose if a given Empire were sound economically, and you don't get the the Law of Declining Returns setting in, and add to it that all peoples feel they are part and parcel of the said Empire, I suppose there really wouldn't be a way to end it.

  • @suryavajra

    I mean Diminishing Returns...

  • @suryavajra I suppose having an empire is both good and bad, but like you said, we were overstretched, and then we struggled big time economically during both world wars.

  • @VeryAngryAnglo They say that waging the a World War basically sapped ALL the wealth that took three hundred years to build up. That alone, kinda makes you sit back. The gold reserves basically were gone by the beginning of WW2.

  • @1066ss What about your royal rulers : Germans. Without the US you silly little British nationalist would be speaking German now. How dare you ungrateful little cretin.

  • @MrPeterdeeter100 Typical american propaganda, most yanks are German, HAMBURGER!

  • Epic fail.

Losing the debate? No problem! Just shout "Say sorry now!" and you automatically win.

  • I wish he would call it Britain instead of england

  • Hilarious! Don't flatter yourself you American arsehole!! Does he seriously believe what he's saying? We are not your 'crazy older brother' We are your parent, along with Australia's parent. Australia has turned out very well, intelligent, mature, and decent. America however is still a nasty naughty little toddler who stamps his foot, screams and makes threats to get what he wants. Grow up, then you can have an opinion that anyone will give a shit about.

  • @Mctagster

did you know that steven is a successful professional in advertising?? lol!!

i guess it's time to retire old Britain to the retirement home...hahaha!

  • DO NOT RESPOND. GRASSE IS A TROLL. HE IS DELIBERATELY COURTING OUTRAGE. From his own website: "With Evil Empire, my polemic against Britain ... I adulterated truths with half-truths. I salted my arguments with ad hominem attacks. These were blatantly inflammatory attempts to inspire hatred of America's mother country. DO NOT RESPOND TO HIM.

  • Loving John

  • I LOVE THE BRITISH , FROM AN AMERICAN ACROSS THE POND . IT THIS BUGGER OFF HIS NUT ? ANGLOPHILES UNITE . CHEERS !!!!

  • @bearcub410 0

you're talking about John from Knight's Fantasy camp??

  • Thre is the possibility that since the US came to britain's aid in WWI and even WWII there is a debt, possibly in Writing, that many european countries owe to the US and/or her allies hence the inference that blair had no choice in joining up especially when a contract is excercised for the first time. churchill and iraq:now there is something that sounds New although it shouldnt. yankee media is beyond dangerous but dont trust the english unless you want your natural resources plundered again

  • Listen Folks,

I'm not here to intimidate you. I just think Britain should be more like America. Britain needs less socialism and more capitalism.

You always here these tales about starving artists in Britain who come to America for a better life.

Hey, I have family in Britain. I want them to succeed too, but its a little hard to come by with the way the UK gov is set up. You should keeo more of your own money and invest in yourse;lves--not West Minster. Think about it please/.

  • Every mistake America has made was directly influenced by Britain. There would be no guns without the brits The Brits invented the death penalty Invasion was invented by the brits The modern police force started in Britain Racism was a British ideal Slavery started in Britain Israel and the middle East started by Britain Oil was a British idea--Don't be pinning it on the USA. In the USA, we are transitioining to bio fuel. In the UK, its petroleum or nothing.
  • @pluto4847 yh the brits made the death penalty but like he clearly states we left in 1776 and you decided to keep the death penalty long after we had gone...not our fault you lot are a bit slow.

  • GOD BLESS THE UK

    GOD BLESS THE US

    BUT FUCK THIS GUY

  • When will America apoligise for killing our troops?

  • @TheAMVV12

You apologise yourself. Iraq was Blair's idea.

    Winston Churchill founded Iraq.

Bush was just a puppet stooge, Blair was the real brains behind it all.

Bush had eight years, Blair was P{rime Minister for 10 years.

Don't be telling me it was all Bush. He played along, but seeing that Blair had more experience, he should have known better.

The USA was the junior partner to Great Britain in the invasion of Iraq.

  • @pluto4847 That has nothing to do with my comment. Do one knob head.

  • @TheAMVV12 When did we kill your troops.

  • @Kirboshi Friendly fire...

  • @TheAMVV12 -_-

  • @TheAMVV12

When will Britain apologize for raping and murdering innocent young, women, and children in US colonial days?

You know nobody held Tony Blair's hand. He wanted the war in Iraq just as much as Bush.

    Both were wrong.

You can't blame that on the American people, and I can't blame that ojn the British people.

It was the UK and US Government whose at fault--not the people.

  • this steven grasse guy's a fucking drip.

  • why is he so bitter? fucking hell lol

  • 1:48 Idiot! Bush sent your ass to Iraq and then Tony Blair was like "i think i wanna ass rape america" and sent us to help!

If anything were cleaning up after YOUR mess!

  • @Skibobdebop

But Winston Churchill invaded Iraq in the 1930's so why should you talk?

Blair was much more experienced than Bush as a leader so don't be telling me it was all Bush's idea. Bush was only in office two years when the invasion happened. Blair had beein office for 6 years.

You tell me who was the real brains behind this? Bush participated, but Blair was the brains behind it.

Pound per pound Blair had so much more experience than Bush as a political leader.

  • @pluto4847 Blair had no experience the only experience he had was in being a idiot.

Bush went to war coz of 911... Blair is equaly to blame... And No one was talking about Churchill

  • @Skibobdebop

Ok well come what may. Please visit the United States cos you'll love it there. Pennsylvania is a nice state. There is this Mall called Pittsburgh Mills Mall right off rt 28, and its phenomenal/ The American dream can be achieved right there.

There is this French woman who sells jewellry and she said, coming to America really helped get her business off the ground as she could never do that in France.

  • @pluto4847 your profile say's your from the UK. :s

I think you may have got you wires crossed somewhere in my comments... You make it sound like I'm anti America which is a insult... In fact I'm going to Uni in America... can't imagine I'd be liked if i hated American's. :s

  • @Skibobdebop

You know it makes sense doesn't it? Why would the inexperienced Bush be mainly at fault. Blair was in power was before Bush. If Blair had any brains he would have just said, 'NO!'

Blair was like Bush's older and wiser brother.

They were best of friends, even sharing hotels together. I'm not lying.

Bush was a bad president, but Blair was an even worse Prime Minister.

Bush was an accomplice to Tonty Blair.

If it went to trail, Blair should face worse charges than Bush.

  • I think there's a underlining jealously for this author that his country didn't used to rule the world.

  • the 101st way we ruined the world was america

  • they are in iraq cus of false information give by tony blair? WTF!!!! bush came over here saying sadaam had Nukes and crying to us to help

  • I know a pack of Canadians that would ask you to reconsider, especially about 1812.

  • @akropiss and about this John Fellow, the supplies arriving to Britain during both wars was Canadian, the yanks didn't ship to Britain during the war because that would have breached neutrality until they joined the allies.

  • @akropiss Also, the US Navy wouldn't learn from the Royal Navy about how to ship supplies to Britain because they thought they were "superior"

  • @jakeshortj actually the supply shipping was mostly left up to the Royal Canadian Navy, had they followed Canada's supply transport method, they could have saved a lot of their own lives.

  • @akropiss i saw a programme on it, it said QUOTE "In fact, the US Navy refused to learn from the British who were more experienced at protecting the vital convoys to Britain"

  • @jakeshortj well, that's half of the fact, the Empire needed supplies, and ships. This is the reason why the Royal Navy was so large, it needed to transport shit from point A to point B, mostly incoming supplies from Canada, which was extremely underpopulated, and the land was far from being tired. Most of the Royal Navy's ships for quite some time were built in Canada, loaded with timber, to build more ships and returned with Scots.

  • @jakeshortj because Britain is so densely populated it imports most of its vital materials, and at time of war it cannot last long without its supply lines, a Naval Blockade would have ended the Empire within months without any ground fighting, this is why the Royal Navy was so large and powerful, Naturally in WW II not much changed, other than the RN in Canada became the RCN and flew the red jack/ensign, Canada's role in keeping Britain in the fight is an age old tradition.

  • @akropiss ok, ok, I already knew that but you've proved your point

  • @jakeshortj :D just saying... but yeah don't let these tossers get to you, they think we live in Igloos and lost the war of 1812. Iraq was in an age of growth and prosperity, democracy and equality until the states put Saddam in power. that's how it has been all over the world, our Empire may have done some bad things but by the time we left we brought education and justice, only for it to be thrown out by America, and when they left, they left it in flames.

  • @akropiss :D

  • This is some excellent trolling I have to say. He even reeled in the BBC, that's just epic.

  • what an idiot

  • Kicked our ass in 1776? The Continental Army were massacred time and time again by Britain's army. this guy really has no bloody idea. And the war of 1812? NO one won that war, it was a draw

  • @theolliepotter

Actually that's not objectively true. While the Continental Army faced dissastrous defeats at the Battle of New York and Brooklyn Heights, they were never massacred by the British. Hence the reason why Washington could ultimately prevail in the Battles that counted.

The British Army's worst enemy wasn't the Continental Army. It was the miltiamen. British defeats at Saratoga and Cow Pens if proof....

  • @suryavajra

Alright. Perhaps I exaggerated. But in a fair few battles the rebels were decisively defeated...

  • @suryavajra

It just annoys me when Americans go on about how the rebels kicked Britain's arse in the war, when it was only won because of French and Spanish intervention

  • @theolliepotter

Well not only because of them, but they did provide some much needed assistance, that's for sure. The thing with me is that I think had the British negotiated with the colonial representatives and made some modest concessions, this war needn't have happened in the first place....

  • @theolliepotter They interveined, yes. But it was us that did most of the fighting over here in america. We pushed the brits all the way back to yorktown, where they maid their final stand against us, they tended to flee into the ocean but was blocked off by the french. By that time they surrendered. Were was france when we were fighing the redcoats off this whole time.

  • Are you fuckin kidding me...

  • Britain mate not England, anyway, we did create Israel which is a shame really

  • If America 'stood on its own' it would just crash. Britain runs its international relationship and America trades with Britain. Stupid arrogant American!

  • @tankcommander94

It's the other way, girlfriend....lol!!! If America went it's own way, it would be Britain that bites the dust. Besides our trade with the Pacific Rim nations have nothing to do with you, and it's the one multilateral relationship with tremendous upside. Y'all are nothing more than a second-rate power. haha!

  • @suryavajra International relationships. America has none, ok. Mainly because you are all so self obsessed you dont even know where Europe is. Britain is second rate?? We produce your cancer drugs for all you obese Americans. We nationally are more intelligent then you, our TEA is 21 yours is 16. There are so many advantages to both countries. But Britain overall is a better place to live. My opinion so live with it!! BTW chanting your oath of allegiance emphasizes your weakness as a country!!

  • @tankcommander94

See that's where you're mistaken. You really ought to crack open a book and actually do what you preach, and that is read about America's relations with the rest of the world as opposed to reciting stale talking points based on stereotypes....

Personallu I think that it emphasizes your weakness as a country when y'all come out and try to put down other countries like the USA. If you were really strong you would actually not have to do that because you have something (cont)

  • @suryavajra Ok then since you have cracked open a book what have you learnt. without Britain America would be lacking basic Cancer treatment and Medical Services. It pointless me rambling on about something that you wise Americans seem to know about. Like I said you still havn't answered my question on Henry Ford?!?! America has a lassez faire attitude. America is alright so screw the world!! How was Vietnam, the only war you fought on your own and you lost!! Unlucky......

  • @tankcommander94

Okay, let me answer your paragraph point by point.

On cancer treatment, you're pretty ambiguous here. Why don't you elaborate further? What evidence do you bring to the table that makes you believe that America would have no cancer treatment without Britain??

Second, what about Henry Ford?? Yes, he was a Nazi sympathizer, but as I vaguely recall he was ousted by his own company execs during the Second World War...

As for Laissez-Faire Attitude, that's being a bit (cont)
