And how did everyone but myself seem to miss that video interview where one of the main creators behind this DMC says that Capcom came to him and said "Remake DMC, remake Dante"? Don't like it, don't play it. And if you can resist, quit bitching. No one cares.
Please people! Help me out here. How in what way does the gameplay look SLOW? I watched the combo videos of DMC3 -4 and as a DMC player I can tell that this combat system is just as fast (if not, a little faster). Now I'll agree that the animation looks choppy, but that about it. So can someone help me here?
@MrAlexanderJU I HAVE played the games (Check my videos to see my gameplay). I'm saying that even now I still don't see where it looks slow. This Dante is just as fast as in DMC3 and 4.
I can't believe the amount of complaining lol. Slow? What fuck do you expect? PS3, and 360 were supposed to be consoles that allowed for previous franchises and titles to EVOVLE. Besides the gameplay is NOT slow. The gameplay has a form of REALISM. The other DMCs ARE awesome (except for DMC2), but the gameplay style was a bit arcadey. With this REBOOT they're trying to EVOVLE Dante as a character. And as far as I'm concerned the gameplay still looks pretty fast paced, BUT less arcadey.
Waaay too slow!!! one of the reasons I like DMC is because it tests your reaction rate which is what actually makes it challenging. and Im not a big fan of the blade, the snatch is Nero's style. I was introduced to DMC with DMC4 (and i like Nero more than Dante) but even then i can see that this "Dante" has zero style.

Setting aside the model of the character, just look at the gameplay.
Really, the equivalent of Nero's Snatch added to Dante completely removed any need of Trickster or Royal Guard.
You don't need to move to your enemies, and when they're about to attack simply use Snatch to stop them.
Then let's take a look at the combo at 1:00, no jump cancelling involved and through the use of Snatch, you can stay airborne easily for 10 seconds possibly more if he wanted to.
I dont't mind the new look to the character. For me i'm thinking what's the purpose of the secret area.? And will it be worth it to play past the main game? I"m looking or rather hoping for a big splash or an unexpected surprise from the developers. sigh

it looks kind of flat... feels like the player had a button for every move and was mashing that button until the move happened, does anyone know what i mean?
visuals are pretty good, nice style, but needs to bring the camera closer for more to connect more with Dante. Sound is flat, almost no variation in mood or ambience from exploring to fighting.
Also, there is a lack of feedback/reward from winning fights or destroying that chain, if that was the objective. This just reminds me of Enslaved.

I thought DMC4 was a gorgeous looking game, I wish they had kept a similar feel to it rather than this animation style, nonetheless I understand that that's just my taste and obviously they won't make a whole game just according to one person's opinions. Unlike the previous ones I definitely won't be buying this game as soon as it comes out, I'll probably rent it first and then see if it's worth it. Depending on how this goes I may or may not forever hate Ninja Theory... they knew the risk...

Whatever changes they make will be miniscule and it still won't be up to par with the quality of the past games. Also they have made it very clear that they aren't focusing on the most important aspect of DMC which is gameplay. All they talk about is their motion capture technology and that they want to prove that games can have great stories

Framerate being halved to 30fps, animation clearly not as smooth as the originals, and the gameplay looks clunky and God of War-ish. These are signs of worse quality. The originals have upgraded the quality of their games in each installment and then NT comes in and goes backwards. By the way I still play PSX and SNES games today. Playing old games doesn't have anything to do with this argument.

Their most acclaimed game Enslaved wasn't even written by anyone from Ninja Theory it was written by a man named Alex Garland who is a movie writer (He wrote 28 Days Later). He isn't working on DmC at all he was just a guy they hired.
Also I've seen the resume of the senior designer. Her name is Rahni Tucker. Type her name and google and look at her resume (second link) it's terrible.
I'd be happy enough to get this now but I really wish they could implement it as a prequel somehow instead of a completely different story.. like it would be cool being the Dante that's getting hunted down while he's still not uber strong.

it looks kind of flat... feels like the player had a button for every move and was mashing that button until the move happened, does anyone know what i mean?
visuals are pretty good, nice style, but needs to bring the camera closer for more to connect more with Dante. Sound is flat, almost no variation in mood or ambience from exploring to fighting.
Also, there is a lack of feedback/reward from winning fights or destroying that chain, if that was the objective. This just reminds me of Enslaved.

I thought DMC4 was a gorgeous looking game, I wish they had kept a similar feel to it rather than this animation style, nonetheless I understand that that's just my taste and obviously they won't make a whole game just according to one person's opinions. Unlike the previous ones I definitely won't be buying this game as soon as it comes out, I'll probably rent it first and then see if it's worth it. Depending on how this goes I may or may not forever hate Ninja Theory... they knew the risk...

Whatever changes they make will be miniscule and it still won't be up to par with the quality of the past games. Also they have made it very clear that they aren't focusing on the most important aspect of DMC which is gameplay. All they talk about is their motion capture technology and that they want to prove that games can have great stories

Besides, I don't really care that much about who writes the story as long as it's good. Framerate being halved to 30fps, animation clearly not as smooth as the originals, and the gameplay looks clunky and God of War-ish. These are signs of worse quality. The originals have upgraded the quality of their games in each installment and then NT comes in and goes backwards. By the way I still play PSX and SNES games today. Playing old games doesn't have anything to do with this argument.

Their most acclaimed game Enslaved wasn't even written by anyone from Ninja Theory it was written by a man named Alex Garland who is a movie writer (He wrote 28 Days Later). He isn't working on DmC at all he was just a guy they hired.
Also I've seen the resume of the senior designer. Her name is Rahni Tucker. Type her name and google and look at her resume (second link) it's terrible.

Notice quite a few of his moves are the exact same from DmC 4, quite kick ass if you ask me.. he just seems to be a bit faster with every move

I'd be happy enough to get this now but I really wish they could implement it as a prequel somehow instead of a completely different story.. like it would be cool being the Dante that's getting hunted down while he's still not uber strong.

que onda la rebellion por que se transorma en cosas q onda por q tan cagada el juego.... por q en otros dmc no lo hace .... por q no aparece virgil si supuesta mente cuando eran chicos estaban juntos :S mataron a un grando :(

i nerd raged about this game when i first became aware of it, and im still not happy that they found it necessary to change one of my childhood hero's, but this does look like a cool game, i just wish it was not called dmc
