  • I drove a TD20 years ago, if you were caught spinning tracks you were looking for another job.

  • where do you obtain the license to operate this machinery ?

  • @joerock00 You don't need a license to operate this equipment. But they do have schools that will teach you how to run heavy equipment.

  • My gosh.....thats a big machine.Ive seen eights and nines at work but those 11,s are a mighty big crawler.Anyone know the price tag on one of those babies?

  • hose and wigglys

  • tryin hard to see the production value here.better with slews and moxies

  • @TheHairybaz What are slews and moxies?

  • D-11 You sure can hear that 3500 series Cat motor sound just like they bogging down but you watch and the track's are spinning..

I notice that on our 1st D-11 you think the motor need's more power but if it spinning it's track's it doing it's job..

  • thx a lot for posting that vid and form filming out there in the cold.

  • What moter is in them? 12 16 pistons?

  • @rocintrucker83021227

    It's a 32 Liter, I think 3 pistons.

  • I wonder what it would sound like with straight pipes!! LOL

  • and a Jake brake! LoL

  • haha probably mad as

  • Man, you must have your fav tunes playin on that long haul..

  • the noise they make is incredible, that howling sound when pushing material is awesome. what kind of certifitcation is needed to operate something like this for a career?

  • deppends on who you work for. some companys only have operators with a CITB and some dont....its mainly comon scence though

  • gotcha, cause i never knew if these guys running these Cat D11s and bigger machines were certified or basically just good enough to run them

  • im not sure what u need in america but here in australia you need a special ticket (liscence to operate it)

  • you need a d11 dozer here to operate it lol

  • islanda??????

  • franzjose or what ever the fuck your handle is needle dick. AMERICA is spelled with capitals they earned it! As far as your country go's what ever it is, AMERICA probably bailed it out one time or another, SO put your lips back on whatever cock your sucking and SWALLOW!!!!!!!

  • Anyone know how much torque the D11 makes?? Its useless to give the hp, because a low-geared tractor relies on torque to get the job done.

  • @bumoffhtestreet Discounting is own weight, the Israeii armoured D9's the "teddy bears" as they are so apt'ly named, have a drawbar pull of about 90 metric (90,000kg's/198,000lbs) and they'll continue to break traction furthermore, so theres at least 100 metric (220,000lbs-ft) of torque at the drive sproket trough the transmission casing, the final drive basically. Multiply all perfomance stats by a factor of 2 and you'll see.

  • thanks. I finally found a complete dyno sheet from CAT for the ACERT C32. This is the motor from the D11T, not the D11R or N. It makes 935 gross hp and 4417 ft/lb of torque

  • @bumoffhtestreet

Really, because CAT said the C32 makes 850HP

  • @SecularTechnology 935 GROSS HP, 850 NET HP. The 850 rating is after the flywheel, whereas the gross rating is before. Flywheels, torque converters, etc. eat up a lot of power. BTW, Cat offers multiple configurations of the C32, ranging form the 935 HP one in the D11 to a 1350 HP one used in some of the large mining trucks. Again we're talking gross hp here.

  • @johnnycagetheboss

Dude buzz off. 220,000 Lb-Ft my ass. probably some where in the 3,500's

  • @SecularTechnology johnnycagetheboss was talking about torque to the ground, which takes into account gear reductio/torque multiplication. Of course it doesnt make 220,000 ft/lb at the flywheel. In point of fact, the C32 makes 4417 ft/lb of torque. You might want to research things a little more carefully before you start correcting people. Somewhere on its website, CAT has a complete spec sheet (HP and torque) for all variants of the C32. Check it out.

  • @bumoffhtestreet

Then show me the Spec sheet. Prove me wrong.

  • @SecularTechnology

Are you ignorant? Did you actually read my comment correctly?

I mentioned transmission casing reduction and drawbar pull, if a vehicle has the abillity to pull ten metric ton at drawbar with ideal tractive grip, then it must have at least that much force at the weels to put into the ground, not exactly rocket science. Thanks bumoffhtestreet :)

  • haha! nice comment!

  • spinning them tracks is a good way to stretch a pin

  • obviously a green "skinner". he should have learned on a D4 or a HD5 with cable blade as i did,.

  • cat

  • oh yea i almost forgot..don't spin the tracks...a good operator will hardly ever let his tracks break traction

  • @c8055 That would be a hell of a dozer with an operator...

  • what i don't understand is how alot of d11 videos on here show alot of them w/straight blades? what the hell do you an 11 for if it dosen't have a u? i mean the whole purpose of an 11 is to move alot of dirt right? d-11s and straight blades...i just don't get it? been 11 operator for 10 yrs. also.

  • Watch the video from beginning to 2.50. Operator makes CUT, pushes blade full up hill, then begins more Cut. START AT THE TOP !!! Make top cut first...back up and make bottom cut 2nd. Then machine does not need to carry full loads up as far. TOP CUT / BOTTOM CUT...Get It ???? more speed and productivity...Less wear and tear on Under carriage.. You want to keep your job? you want raises..Show the boss what your doing and why. challenge him. sometimes they may be smarter than you !!!

  • To all of you who would LOVE to run something like this...the novelty wears off and if eventually becomes a JOB and can be somewhat boring and beats the shit out of you..it's only fun for about a week..lol..then it sucks just like anything other job

  • I've done it for a long time and it don't bore me.

  • Oh no it's way better than sitting in a office cube like a caged rat for 8-10 hours a day. I still enjoy my job alot..i mainly run a D8R or 345B Trackhoe everyday but at the end of a 10 hour shift im ready to head home! To where when i first started espically within the first week i would have worked 24 hours a day..hahaha

  • Try finish grading Top Soil around a tight spot..like I can do, blind folded.

  • What the hell are you talkin about?

  • What do you want to know ? That`s what I'm talking about...everybody is an operator !!

  • so true.

    it also fucks your back

  • Nice vid....hell of a long push though..looks like some scrapers would be a good thing to have on the job.

  • Nice video. I like watching those big dozers and any earth moving equipment.

  • Beast!

  • That thing is a damn beast. I mean Ive always seen them in shops or sitting around. But to actually see how much dirt that thing is pushing is pretty amazing.

  • 250,000 pounds of pure bad ass machine

  • haha 250 000 pounds of screaming steel and sex appeal!

  • ..Best mashin...

  • wow.hey dude cool vid......reminds me as a kid....ya know playing in the dirt with my dozer and ittaska moterhome........i could never do this as a job....only for back yard maintence...

  • lovely machine

  • o man i like these d11's, i wish cat would make bigger 1s like d12 n d13 or better still keep makin em so u never actually see the biggest 1 coz theres always 1 bigger somewhere!

  • Hi guyes! What can you say about CHETRA 590 h.p dozer simmilar to CAT D11? If you never seen you can find it in my channel.

  • this job must be soooo boring

  • Local 3 Operating Engineers in Cal.

We got 8's and some 10's around for the most part. I've only seen 1 D-11 on a site I wan on. I run "push pull" scraper (double ender) twin motor, front and rear. yea, 11's are big

  • i would hate to see what that thing would do to pavement

  • its fucking runny

  • does someone know what engine they are using in this??

  • 3508

  • Catpillar 3412 also used in 992 and 990 rubber tired loader's

  • The 3412 is in a D10..a 3508 is in a D11.. Maybe a 3214 but I haven't yet worked on one, but have rebuilt 4 3412's in the d10

  • we have 8 of thoes with one of the worlds bigest construction companys. DRURYs CONSTRUCTION

  • Cat challenger line of tractors are made in italy spain and there about. They dont make them they just buy them and put their name on them.Maybe they should stop the line from spain.

  • I work for a Cat dealer in the yukon, haven't seen one in our shop yet !

  • Naw, I say f@#k the nitwits who hate yellow iron from the USA!!!

  • Would love to hit the big lottery. Purchase couple of heavy equipment, land and have some fun.

  • You read my mind dude !

  • WOW..I was just thinking the exact thing..play with that baby all day....that's what life is all about!!!!!!!!

  • lol...sit on one for 12 hours a day everyday for a few years...then see if you say the same thing

  • I work for a CATERPILLAR dealer in Eastern Kentucky. That is a D11R, We have one in the shop now doing a CAT Certified Rebuild on it. I am currently building the operator compartment also know as the cab.

  • where is this...fort mac

  • Stellarton, Nova Scotia

  • Any jobs there ?

How cold does it get ?

I am not working in colder than -40C

  • Jobs in Nova Scotia??? Not too many good jobs around here. That is why most Maritimer have to pack up and head out west to Alberta. Out there jobs are plentiful and the money is good. Nova Scotia just a nice place to live after you retire.

  • humm,i think neil young beat everyone in that race.

  • @JinHowHen That is why our kids have trouble getting jobs.. Easterers come out here

    and take there jobs away...

  • fort mac dosent get colder than like -30 celcius and you need a class 1 licence

  • dosent get below 30- c thats a bold lie

  • Fort Mac will get -40 and colder in February, when I was there in 08 we had to shut down a couple nights cause it was close to -50 C,the company policy was not to operate the equipment below -40 to cut down on breakage from the cold

  • Who owns these D11's? Dexter.

  • @CATERPILLARD9L
