As is true in any reality show, people vote based more than on the actual skill of the contestant. Personality and the ability for the audience to relate to the contestant all play a role. I didn't watch this season, so I'm unsure of what happened. She already seems like a professional, so voters may have skipped her in lieu of giving the other two a better chance to succeed with their careers, as it was clear she has a bright future with or without American Idol.
