What's the best depth and area for gt popping?

Look for deep water and dropoffs, around the reefs, rocks and islands. Giant trevally also love hiding under the white water right in close and using this as an ambush point feeding into the current. You can see the small rock which we were working the poppers in this video, Great stuff, even though only a baby Giant trevally this one, Lost his big brother just before,

Not my rod and reel sorry, I like to use minimum 50lb for Giant trevally, up to 80 or even 100lb, as you never know when a monster fish will smash your lure or popper. Most good quality spinning reels can handle these fish, without having to spend mega dollars. But if keen and do alot of fishing for Giant Trevally, spend the money, well worth it in the long run, They take some stopping the big ones,

That's what makes GT Fishing so addictive, you never know when you're going to get that spectacular surface strike!! The first GT was a good fish, but missed it unfortunately,

Some great fishing off Mackay, this one is a baby for us, the one we lost would have been a good one, with our Average GT 10 - 20 Kilograms. Great Sport and fun.
