  • This is NOT hommus that is served in any restaurants anywhere in any Arabic country, it tastes totally different than this or the ready to eat ones served in cans or those in plastic containers sold on shelves in refrigerators, it should not really contain cummins garlic chilli lemon, there should be what is called: tatbeelah, which is consisting of crushed green chilli lemon and crushed garlic, this can be added on the plate later according to each ones taste along with olive oil, what we saw

  • awesome!!!

  • Almost went deaf when the blender came on, nice recipe though. :)

  • @Lorea1991 This Hummus Recipe Video was one of our first videos :) Hope you gave it a try! It is by far the most popular of all the other versions I have.

  • very nice!

  • made my mouth water!!! hamov!

  • There's another recipe with mint leave in it. Wondering if this is standard or a personal preference.

  • @cliffcox66 The hummus recipe does not have mint in it. Perhaps you were asking about another recipe? There are many recipes that it is standard to use mint leaves. Thank you for your post.

  • @cliffcox66 The traditional Lebanese way is to chop parsley and decorate it mainly in the center and the 4 corners of the plate. Also you may thinly slice tomatoes and place them next to the parsley also add some green olives. Just decorate it to make it appealing to the eye !

  • @ HowToExpo

Madam, can you explain a simple way how to make tahini at home? We have have no middle eastern shops in India, but we got lots of sesame (til) which is used for making cooking oil.

Is it just sesame seeds crushed into a butter or do they need to be toasted/processd first? Can it be made in a mixer/grinder?

  • good

  • how make toast? yum yum!

  • @Figscout You mean pita chips? I cut the pita bread in segments drizzle some olive oil on them and dry it on low in tn the oven. I hope this answers your question and thanks for posting.

  • we like toast! :D tell us how to make

  • @Figscout For hummus you have to cook the garbanzo beans before you prepare the hummus as instructed. Only when preparing the falafel we sock the beans before we mince them in the food processor. If you have any other question don't hesitate to ask and thanks for posting.

  • I may try making this with raw/soaked garbanzo beans. Thanks!

  • @IsraeliAngel well Israel is odd to the middle east anyways... You STOLE our lands, can you please at least leave us hummus and tabouli ?

  • @IsraeliAngel I just noticed, your channel is full of hate, typical zionist.

  • I so love hummus...

    Thanks for sharing this...

  • The video is wonderful, great job.

The tahini looks home made would you do a video on how to make your own tahini?

  • Looks delicious - where can I get the tahini / sesame paste? How well does the hummus keep in the refrigerator?

  • @stevengrovesaz you get tahini from any lebanese/palestinian/syrian shop, or perhaps on the internet.

Hummus is good fresh, but can be kept in fridge for a week-10 days.

  • Thanks,Thanks I love Hummus.

  • @elbergron Fuck you and your king david, how is that??

your history is full of lies, why dont you just go back to Poland.

  • @OnceUponAtimeInLeb who the fuck is muhamad?

  • @elbergron We all know that jews are the most hated people on earth, from time of the pharos, the greek, the romans, the mongols, hitler and the list goes on :)

  • @Spotsnoop We only saw her upper lip and I believe there was no moustache.

  • nice; home made hummus; yummie

  • mouthwatering.....!!!!!

  • I've always wonderd what you do with hummus. I wouldn't make it but I might buy it ready made. What would I then do with it?

  • @RMCKIE you buy pita and smear it all over the bread, if its thick humus i eat it with fava beans or falafel balls or even just plain.

  • Haha, that cricket in that background.

This recipe looks so delicious, I have to try it.

  • 2 tbs of tahini???? that was more like 20, or 1 cup

  • is this zohan's favourite food?

  • this is not how hummus is surved.

its surved on small circular plates with a round hole in the middle filled with olive oil for dipping. and pittas to wipe the hummus

  • @Sextorator with pittas to dip into the hummus, or scoop up the hummus

  • The Israelis launch satellites and invent high-tech solutions for energy, agriculture, medicine, computers, and weaponry. An Israeli won the Noble prise for chemistry less then a year ago.

    What do the Arabs do?...

    Hummus.

Now you know how 5 million Jews can survive for 62 years with 150 million hostile Arabs surrounding them...

  • @LordOfJahannam Funny how ignorant you are. Muslims invented programming, we invented the basics of an air plane, we are the first to discover all the planets, we are the first to know that the sun is a star, we discovered Distillation, we isolated more than 10 acids, we invented 'Silica glass, we made the modern soup, we were the first to have a military band, we invtened fire proof clothings, we made the guitar, lut, and oud.

I can still list you more than 1000 things Muslims invented.

  • I'm talking about Arabs, not Muslims.

But still, when did you invent all that? in the middle ages?

Today Arabs are a primitive and ignorant society who has the highest rate of alphabetics in the world (even more then the Africans!).

Out of 1.4 BILLION Muslims which are 20% of the world's population you have 6 Nobel prize winners while the Jews have over 160 and are 0.2% of the world's population.

If that's not a proof you're a bunch of fails, I don't know what is.

  • @LordOfJahannam Yes we did invent that in the middle ages, and you know something, I actually agree with you. Its funny how Arabs are dumb now, right? ohh, wait a second, its not US its our government you idiot! do you know how many smart young men are in the middle east? but the governments never support them. In 2008, and high school kid from UAE discovered a new Geometric method, did you know what happened to him? the government stole his method and sent him to jail.

  • @LordOfJahannam And plus, our governments (that are supported by yours) don't give a crap about us. Just in 2006 a man from KSA invented a new music recording program that is like Auto-Tune except that its for guitar, no one gave a shit about him, his program is probably now stolen by other people.

so I kinda agree with you actually. But thats okay, its just a matter of time. When we do a second Arab revolt, we'll make sure to get 1000 Nobel prizes.

  • Less talking more revolting then...

  • @LordOfJahannam history says, that you are the most hated people on earth, that's enough for us :)

  • @OnceUponAtimeInLeb die die you assfucker you are the most hated on earth.

you all live cos of you fucking oil when it ends you all became slaves and go back to stone age. you fucking dick.

  • @LordOfJahannam Shut the fuck up. This is hummus. Go argue somewhere else.

  • @LordOfJahannam Israel is meant to end :)

  • mmmmm, i like hummus very much,

  • now i see .... i got consistency wrong ... my hummus would not mix in the blender ... i did not add any water and the Tahiti really thickened up

  • mmhhmmm humus is so great

  • 1:47 - 1:57 her face on the glass mug :D

    cheeeeeeeeeers.

  • Sounds delicious

  • I LOVE HUMMUS! i'm going to use this recipe asap!! THANK YOU!

  • I am from Cyprus in the Middle East...this hummus looks great!

  • great video! I will try to make it soon. Thanks :)

    1.arabic food

    2.maxican

    3.italian

  • @roosoo2 JUST TO CORRECT YOU: HUMMOS IS A LEBANESE DISH, NOT MIDDLE EASTERN AND NOT ARAB. SAME AS TABBOULEH, FALAFEL, LABNEH, FATTOUSH, AND A THOUSAND MORE RECIPIES...BEFORE YOU BITE ME (AS U USUALLY DO), KNAFEH AND MANY SWEETS ARE BALESTINIAN. HOPE U R HAPPY NOW. WIN WIN. A LOT HAVE BEEN EXCHANGED BETWEEN LEBANON, SYRIA, TURKEY, CYPRUS , JORDAN AND PALESTINIAN CUISINES. MANY DISHES WERE ADOPTED BUT THE SOURCE IS KNOWN.

  • @LebnenehASLEH no stupid humus and flafel are palestinian food not your food.

first FLAFEL is a palestinian food came from the egyptian TA3MIA,when the mongolians occupied and came to palestine they brought with them from india "bharat"and peppers(felfel)so the palestinians used this bharat and peppers with humus(not fool like egyptians)and made flafel(and the name comes from the pepper"felfel")

  • @roosoo2 HMMMMMMM........... I am sure Balestinians invented many things... 1) Toilet BaBer, 2) Hmmmmm..... Lets see,,, NOTHING!!! WOW.... Impressive. To cut it short.... I say to you two words: Fuck Off.

  • @LebnenehASLEH lebanASS fag we invented the alphabet(canaanites)ya homo and we made the civilization because the oldest city in the world is in palestine jericho....so ya 7MAR go suck some 5aleg'i dicks and maybe they will give you jobs in dubai lol...go read about flafel&hummus ya 7mar before talking shit like all the lebanASSES...even lebanon built by pali.CASINO LEBNAN,STUDIO B3ALBAK,MEA,BNAK INTRA FOUNDED BY YOUSIF BAIDAS(PALI)

  • @LebnenehASLEH and fag masturbator the pali were the first to sail and we have the oldest port in the world YAFFA PORT..we the canaan named your fuckin country LEBANON..lebanon comes from the arabic canaanites word LABAN(means white/milk)when the canaanite saw the white"snow"mountains of lebanon and they name it laban/lebnan..but we should name your country lebnak..ad ma ra7 yentak lol

  • @LebnenehASLEH and about hummus 7ummus is also arabic palestinian dish, and the oldest humus restaurant in the world is in jerusalem palestine and the restaurant is 200 years old older than lebanon..hummus needs two things

1.palestinian arabic bread(not as thin as the lebanese bread)our bread is thicker than your bread

2.olive oil...and the most famous & the best oil in the region is the palestinians oil.

  • why do I need to know to make it I can just by it in 2 $ in the market

  • That looks so smooth! Yummy!

  • This was a very nicw video, it made me think of my grandma and she made it look very appeling at the same time... • Every time I eat hummus i eat it with paprika and its bang bang so I dont know what u people talking about.

  • she says that this is the way she likes Hummas ... U can do it by anyway u like !!

  • u dont pot cumin.. trust me.. do it like i told u.. and u will never eat any thing els in ur life.. the way i told.. is the way they do it in Jerusolem.. they know how.. trust me

  • amazing. Thank you. I have a question about Tahini. I went to my local grocery and bought "sesame Seed Paste" and it did not taste good. I think the Arabic Tahini is different from the local grocery "sesame seed paste".

  • what are you people talking about??? this is nasty hummus.. this is not how you make hummus at all. she is probebly from turky or something.. you dont put cumin and paprika and olive oil..!!!!! you have to boil the chechpeas first tell its really mushed and then you keep it in the cooler for a day.. and the next day you make hummus with it... (dont use caned checkpeas) use dry ones.. from scratch.. then you mix it with salt, garlic and tahini.... (no water).. thats it.. it will be soo smooth..

  • you deffly putcumin dude

  • abowade3, no the lady is not from Turkey, and it is not relevant. Also, trust me, in Turkey people know very well how to make hummus. Turkish cuisine is even more refined than Arabic cuisine, because it was the seat of the Ottoman Empire. The variety of food in Turkey is beyond imagination, just wanted to share!

  • @Metsada007 Turkish kitchen has a lot of influence of the Ottoman empire and the Greek. And many more cultures.

  • Gorgeous presentation...thank you!

  • thanks a bunch.. the family love it

  • You're welcome.

  • randyrupajunsay,

We eat Tachini in Humus but in Turkey, we also eat it with grape molasses. You can mix Tachini with grape molasses and eat by spreading it on a bread or dipping bread in. Thats another taste.

And by the way, thank you HowToExpo for posting this video. I really like eating humus...

  • I am glad you like hummus we like it too. I do tahini with grape molasses too. My son loves it.

  • THANK YOU SOO MUCH FOR POSTING!!!

This Hummus recepie is the best, I usually make it when I have company, and it makes a good heart felt gift when going to someones house...

    THANK YOU!!!

    It's delicious

  • TurquoisePorcelain

i visited man mediteranean countries no body there know hummous . in addition hummus is arabic name .

Hummus city in Syria with history more than 1800 years .

By the way the title changed but i dont know why people afraid to say arabic food ,like italian food or japanese food .

Is that descrimination or part from ignorance ?

  • hummus is an arabs food, and everybody know that

    why u said mediteranean ?

  • @kakoo6 because its true.

  • Food isnt just exclusive to the location that it was originated in or discovered in for that matter.

    Greeks eat hummus too.

  • Greek eat hummus coz they are too close to arab countries .

By the way hummus nowadays eaten by americans too :)

The fact : why many people refuse or worry to say arabs food ? Is that part of arab hate or ignorant ?

  • I dont know, some Hummus has yogurt in it, I could be ignorant but I think of Greece when I hear "yogurt" being mentioned as an ingredient.

Its all cultural anyways, I guess Americans in general have more in common and overall better relations with Greece then the Arab countries.

Look what congress did with "French" Fries for a while...

  • it's not yogurt it's tihene(arabs use it with humus and another arabic food)we eat tihene with fish,meat..many more

  • Good job as a tip Next time don't cut her head of throughout the whole process makes it to impersonal - thats basic photography

  • i never taste that before but with sesame seed paste (tahini) it's sounds really delicious, and will this and serve at home.. it's look delicious and yummy.. how do you eat it? can you make it spread on a bread or you just eat it as it is? thanks for the sharing! more power!

  • Yes you can spread it on bread or use it as a dip. In middle East hummus is consumed with pita bread or pita chips on its own or with meat poultry or fish kebabs.

  • @HowToExpo in the middle east we eat hummus almost with anything to be honest... you can use it literally with anything...

  • lolz its on harry hill

  • Awsome, can't wait to try it. :)

  • Very nice presentation.

  • Many people use canned chick peas in home made hummus. I know some people say it is better to make hummus from chickpeas you have cooked yourself. Were the chickpeas in a can, once dried, then cooked and canned? Or are they fresh from the pod then cooked and canned? Are all dried chickpeas equal or can you get stale/bad ones and not know until you cook it?

  • you are right, it is better to use chickpeas cooked by yourself.

  • Looks great! I will try to make some tonight. :))

  • Your food processor is very good! I tried making hummus but my food processor is not as good and the chickpeas did not become smooth! Thanks for the great and simple recipe! ;)

  • Sure, thank you for the comment and thanks for trying this recipe. You can also mush up the garbanzo beans that did not smooth out from your food processor with a fork, or potatoe masher. If you have a hand blender that can also work too. Hopefully that will work.

  • are garbanzo beans the same as chickpeas?

  • Yes, garbanzo beans are the same as chickpeas.

  • Beautiful!

I'm going to make it tonight!

  • u said chili powder but it sais in description paprika so which 1 or both

  • You can use either or, Chili powder meaning hot red pepper powder is if you like it a bit spicy, and paprika if you dont want it spicy. Give it a try, and let me know how it was. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. Thanks

  • I will I have been wanting to try this for so long now. I love garbanzo beans so much. When I was little my friends mother made a delicious soup with those beans!! YUM

  • very nice

  • Kifek!!! nice, thank you. It does look easy, what about the taboule, and also the nice raw spiced meat (i forget the name)...very good . Where can I get the tahini?

  • Hi draconik, the Tahini is found in all Middle Eastern, Armenian & Persian Markets. The Raw Spiced Meet is already taped, I will have it up early next week. Taboule is next on my list. I'll let you know when its in my channel. Please do not forget to subscribe!

  • I will be available to answer questions. So if you are having trouble or something is not clear please let me know. I am new at doing videos but not new to cooking. Please if you liked this video, do comment, rate and subscribe. I enjoy cooking and love the opportunity to share my cooking with you. Thanks
