  • How can the makers of this video ignore an 8 grand slam title winner like Connors?

  • And where is mats wilander ? He won 7 grand slam including the US OPEN in 1988

  • Bjor Borg was bigger then the game of tennis. He's an icon of cool and helped to define his times far beyond sports. Like Muhammad Ali or Pele. No one before and nobody after achieved this (not even Agassi).

  • Oh yeh..Never won a Aus Open, Never won a U.S Open. Quit in his 20's. Pretty pathetic actually. What marks a champion is ability to win on all surfaces and longevity! Both Borg lacked!

  • Agreed

BORG never wanted to take care of his outstanding account with BIG MAC ..

    -------------------------------------

ROGer lost his reign, like a champion. .And the continuous fighting...

  • I do no really agree with you. Bjorn never went to australia except once ( 1974) and if he won us open he should have gone to australia ( played as last tournamet at that time ) And according to us open , borg was in four finals ( was hurt in two of them and a death threatten in another but winning on french and wimbledon 78 -80 is almost impossible

  • the borg?are you one?....Sampras is one

  • federer

    3. Sampras

    4. Sampras

    5. Sampras

  • 1)federer - by far not only grand slam titles but overall consitency (semifinals, finals)

    2)borg, sampras tie

    3)laver

    4)agassi

    5)nadal

  • if the critera is consitency then lendl is no1

  • consistency is not the only criteria, and even so he was in no way more consistent than Federer...someone can always make it to qfs and lose and be consistent, Lendl was great and, yes, consistent (6 straight US Open finals)but cmon Federer's WON 5 straight titles at 2 different majors (US & Wimbi) and 13 gs total in under 6 years as well as reaching 18 straight gs semis to this day...so yea Lendl was consistent, but not so much as Federer when taking into account Grand Slam performance

  • 1º Sampras....2º Federer....3º Vilas.....

  • one of the best

  • nastase the best...

  • nastase was a great player

  • Why does no one care about Laver. He did something no one has done, twice. The Grand Slam calender win

  • mainly because tennis was no where as competitive back then as it is now... but i still put him in my top 5

  • I taped this I think on Beta. I may still have this some where. Thanks for downloading this. :)

  • Eh, Ashe beat Borg in the QF, not the SF.

  • So who is "better" Martina, Chrissy or Steffi? Margaret Court? Suzanne?

    I dunno.

Laver Lendl McEnroe Connors or Borg?

Remember, Mac had doubles going on, too.

  • for me laver and sampras

  • GREAT MOMENTS!

  • arthur ashe beat connors ?

  • yeah wimbledon 1975 6-1 6-1 5-7 6-4

  • they missed steffi's golden slam

  • They didn't miss it, it on purpose, it's an American clip.

  • It was an HBO production. However, this video is from 1987 or 1988, I taped it a long time ago in a VHS cassette... so Steffi's Golden Slam was still in the making.

  • I stand corrected :)

  • Just curious, do you know the name of the program? I know it was on HBO, but was it about Tennis? What was the titles name?

    Thanks.

  • I believe the program was called "History of Tennis"... not quite sure, but maybe it'll help you. It was hosted by the late Arthur Ashe and Billie Jean King. Greetings!

  • Great VIDEO!! (H)Com'on NADAL (Y)

  • Great video!
