No, the island of Mindoro ("Mindoro" which is of Spanish linguistic origin) was referred to as "Ma-i" — not the present-day Philippines as a whole.
"Liu-sung", or "Lǚsòng Guó (呂宋國), is just the Chinese pronunciation of the derivative "Luzon", with "Luzon" being the current spelling under Spanish & English orthography (Tagalog, along with most Philippine languages, does not have the /z/ phoneme). "Luzon", among Philippine languages, should be spelled as "Lusong" or "Lusung".

THIS guy contradicts himself so much his hate does nothing to help the situation. He hates the hip hop filipinos but then he says "peace" at the end. Everyone that got bullied when they were young no matter what race is hurt about it when they grow up. MAN UP. It's not about fil-ams or fobs or asians or pacific islanders its just ignorance. I'm native Marianas islander. There are many filipinos living in the islands of oceania. But they refer to themselves as ASIANS. Because they know that they are NOT pacific islanders. Only the FilAms claim pacific islander identity because they are ashamed of their ASIAN origins. I met a girl that said she was HAWAIIAN and I asked if she speaks hawaiian, and she then said.. actually, I am FILIPINO. And i asked her why she said she was Hawaiian. Then she said, it sounds better than Filipino.
Listen, pull down your pants and look down, if your teetee is below 5 inches erect than you are Asian. If it is above 5 -6 inches then you are pacific islander.
Unfortunately, most of my fellow Fil-Am's made fun of me for playing guitar, and dressing differently. Several years later, when Facebook, and YouTube came about, I met several Filipinos overseas. Some are musicians, and the rest are family members that I haven't met in person. Either way, almost all of them are supportive of me, and look forward to meeting me in person 1 day. The young 1's address me w/ the utmost respect, and address me as "Po," while their Fil-Am counterparts, never do that.

@shanal1510 Part of the problem's ignorance. Most Fil-Am's don't know their history, or culture, & if they do, they only know the negative aspects, so they try to be some1 they're not. In my early teens, I was the same way. It wasn't until I went to my parents library, and read several books about Philippine history, especially the one's about pre-colonial times. Knowledge is a key factor in preventing, or combating this mindset. Fil-Am parents need to educate their children about their culture.
