Treyppa, you should not be allowed to participate in this discussion since you are french and can't see this subject with balance(same as for brasilians).Fact of the matter is: Senna was right, Prost was wrong.
That was a ridiculous mistake that only stupid drivers make. Senna was a good driver but that kinda mistake was so stupid from his part...Definitely that was Senna's fault...Prost was inside the chicane already, there was nothing Senna could do otherwise it'd result like it did, CRASHING!
Yeah, we all can make mistakes, but that was not a mistake, he had all the space to overtake and went inside to do it. So, sorry about you guys who keeps talking shit about one of the best drivers F1 ever had while you guys are just stupid idiots behind a computer.
@treyppa he is a genius o-o that wasnt a mistake, he said once, if u dont use the gap u see, u r not a driver, and he could have overtake him in that corner, but prost was afraid and wetted himself, afterwards senna still could drive, but was banned, because of those faggots of FIA, watch 'Senna' the documentary about him!
I feel that Senna and Schumacher used their popularity to their advantage. They knew they had a huge following of fans (which FIA knew helped the sport).
Other drivers/teams knew that they would be black-balled if they caused a crash with one of them. Senna admits to forcing other drivers to back off or cause a crash.
Prost wasn't like that until Senna forced the issue with him.
Yeah, the year after it was different because there is more room in the 1st turn, collision could have (and should have) been avoided by Prost.
Don't get me wrong, Senna's attack in '88 was very bad imo, but Prost responded by a bad move also. I think in both accidents the blame is way more 50/50 than people think.
in all fairness, for me every Senna's accident like that was partly his fault, but because he was forcing the other racers to give up because they knew he would cause the crash, senna was never backing up, always going 100%, that's every single race with him was so exciting, it really was pure racing on the highest level, but sometimes these drivers just wouldn't give up that easy, so they were ending up like prost on this particular video ;')
Obviously Ayrton's fault. He came up the inside at far too high a speed and took them both out. How can people say Prost tried to turn too early? Senna would have overshot it either way.
@Treyppa Finally someone who isn't brainwashed. I agree man. People seem to forgive/forget these kind of mistakes just because he died while racing. While they seem to remember every mistake schumacher made (for example) and therefore he would not be the best driver. Hypocritical people...
@Treyppa yeah it wasn't his mistake, he knew exactly what he was doing, if you watched more of his races you'd see that he was always pushing everything to the boundaries, he was never giving up an inch of the track if that would gain him a place, in this video he was trying to force prost to give up and that didn't happen so prost has seen the consequences, do you know what happened next? Prost retired from the race, senna won it and then was disqualified, think before you say anything bro ;)
@Treyppa Prost cut the chicane far too early. He knew Senna would make that pass because Senna could park it on the apex and Prost would have no more road left.
@Treyppa But Shit for you, Senna is totally right doing this Overtake on Prost! He goes inside, there is the Space to pass him, but Prost knew he could be also Champion if he takes Senna with him out. So he shut this all down..evereyone said prost is guilty, not Senna, even the Drivers. So when you haven't any clue, STFU!
@EvilCrewMember Im sorry, but thats exacly my opinion too? I dont understand what you're just meaning with your Post..Senna is right, Prost wrong, so whats the matter?
I am not getting into the senna vs prost arguement cause i dont care. But in this is case senna braked too late and even if prost dint drive into him which i dint think he did(prost has the racing line into braking and senna is way back plus there is a half car lenght gap that prost has over senna) What i am trying to say is that senna braked too late from way behind that he wouldnt have made the corner anyway.
There's a video on you tube where you can watch this incident from a helicopter camera.
I've seen it a couple of times but unfortunately couldn't find it this time.
If you watch this you'll be surprised to see that Prost is turning his car right before he reaches the corner 'cause his only aim is to hit Senna and take him out of the race. Dirty move by Prost, definitely not a Senna mistake...
@Treyppa it was of course legal overtaking maneuver by senna, slow footage shows even to almost blind and idiotic people like you, that prost began to turn many meters before actual curve, right into the sennas car. if senna wasnt there, prost simply couldnt get through that chickane at that angle. he simply began to turn the car too soon. i wish kids like you will see that. if youre troll, you should go to doctor ASAP, instead of writing idiotic comments. prost is wrong, calculating person.
If you ask any guy with racing experience they will give the blame as 70-30 against senna cause 1st prost had a right to defend his position, 2nd senna braked way too late and there was no way senna would have made the corner. 3rd there is atleast half a car lenght between them when they collide(see 0:07) the only reason senna looks closer is cause his car is facing straight and prost is correctly facing the corner. In simple words senna car would miss the apex and understeer
@Treyppa Dude Ayrton Senna had his car inside..if you know something about racing you should know that when that happens you have to let the other driver pass.. Prost messed up bad on that one.. There's no huge mistake by Senna...there's a huge mistake by yourself on your comment.
senna forced the passage and prost just didn't let him do : as a resut he won the championship. the year after on the same circuit senna repeted the movement. he was the culprit twice

7 laps to go, Senna needs to win last two races to get the champ, comes from nowhere and expects Prost to let him pass...
...Desperate move
ozcomeozgo 5 months ago 2
@ozcomeozgo
Doesnt matter. Prost moved off the racing line - something which is very easy to see from aerial shots. It was subtle but it was intentional.
And even after all that, the real injustice came after Senna somehow still managed to win the race. That was the worst disgrace.

Lost my respect to Prost after he went whining to the officals about Senna. He often whined on French interviews about Senna too.
Prost turned way too early to the corner, that was not about defending position but taking Senna out (Schumacher style).

This year the 5 worst results were taken of the total points.
Before Suzuka, situation : Prost 72 and Senna 60.
But Senna already had them all out of count with a lot of retirements.
Prost has still a result to be taken off => Either Suzuka result, Adelaide result, or 6 points.
If Senna pass & win here, he reaches 69. If Prost finish 2nd he gets 78, but this may be his final count.
I let you do the maths that Alain Prost went into before the race. No need to finish, Ayrton must not win.
KriSKa93 10 months ago
@KriSKa93 the other way around, senna did it deliberately as he needed prost to not finish and himself to win the race ;)
