I disagree with her that we have a democracy. In order for people to run for office they need money. So that allows people to buy out our politicians. They invest in our politicians campaigns and when our officials are elected than they represent the interest of those who invested into there campaigns. Mafia did it and it was wrong wall street does it and its not illegal. Double Standards. Democracy should allow people to run for election without any outside funding by any sponsors.

I care about the citizens of Afghanistan just as I do other countries. But I wonder what is the strategic critical national interest of us being involved in Afghanistan. To stem terrorism? Maybe. We're there because the corrupt people in charge want the billions from heroin. Heroin production was almost nil under the Taliban in 2000. Now it's gone up 800% under US occupation. Why? The taliban have far less money and equipment to stop drugs than the US. Also there's billions to be made from natural gas & oil pipelines. It was the Taliban refusing to allow Union 76 and CHevron to build the pipeline back in 2001 that caused the war. Brazil was given the contract initially.
