  • @TheMedievalMan I really agree! Ron Paul is what the United States need. Santorum can take hid sweater vests and shove it up his ass. Mittens Wrongney can go to Hell. Newterd Gang of Rich can be the new mascot of Pillsbury.

  • Uhhhh, GB got his ass handed at the end.

  • God, i hate glenn beck he's a total right wing douche

  • I live in a socialist country and its better in healthcare, employment, welfare and education than US or Britain, which are clearly more capitalistic class societies. Look what Silva, Chavez, Kirchner and Morales did in Latin American countries, socialists archieved what the IMF market fundamentalism couldn't in decades.

  • Glenn Beck being alway so stupid that it is shameful..."You think Canada is socialist", "yes their policies are socialist" - hum, not that socialist... Coop-enterprise owned by the employees are rare in Canada, and sure there is some nationalized corporations like the CBC - but, oil is given to private enterprise. Sure Canada look like a liberal country with some socialist tendency, while USA look like a liberal country with some strange tendency.

  • 7:45 to 8:00 GB thinks, "shit, just got my as handed to me on my own show"

  • 47 seconds and Beck is already acting like an asshole.

No wait, it's just his normal behavior. Very sad :(

  • why can't people see that democracy and socialism are very close to being the same thing? democracy: a government chosen by the people for the people. Socialism: a government funded by the people for the people.

  • @jinofthethunder Which is why its so scary.

  • @TheMedievalMan what, democracy?

  • @jinofthethunder Yes, I wouldnt want to live in a true democracy. Democracy = tyranny of the majority. Just as Socialism is tyranny of a government on behalf of the people.

  • @TheMedievalMan well we know utilitarianism has its flaws but what would you prefer instead? and i think you're painting socialism with a pretty broad brush there.

  • @jinofthethunder I would prefer small government & small business. I dont want even "the people" running society. The only time government should be involved is with cases of murder, rape, stealing for example. Im libertarian when it comes to personal responsibilities & government. But I also disagree with them on free-market economics. Capitalism always leads to oligopolies & monopolies. Government should regulate business to small-medium sizes, like they do in Europe.

  • @TheMedievalMan I agree with your capped capitalism ideology, its one i am quite vocal about myself. however i don't see how a small government would have the power to keep business small. besides I'm still curious to know what kind of government you have in mind, if its not democracy then what?

  • @jinofthethunder Small government doesnt mean ineffective. I mean one that doesnt create an "Orwellian" society. A government should manage businesses to prevent anyone from getting too large. I recommend on the local level, a business owners association. Where they manage everyones businesses to remain small, instead of competition which eliminates businesses in an industry. These associations would be backed up by government laws, similar to home owners associations.

  • @TheMedievalMan yes but for any business to be self sustaining it needs to make profit, and certain organisations shouldn't be run for profit, such as the police force, fire department, i would personally through healthcare in with those services but that seems to be a hot topic within the states at the moment. both business and government, left/right ask us to sacrifice freedom, but at the end the day the government is or at least is supposed to be a reflection of the will of the people.

  • @jinofthethunder Depend of what you mean by health-care... I think we could put that somewhere between the two. Some stuff like a massage, that's for profit.

  • @therrydicule i wouldn't really call that health-care.

  • @jinofthethunder Well, it could be a part of healthcare... It could be an efforts made to maintain some level health. Even better, some form of it are necessary for public health - well, a little boy having a retractile testicle might need some massage therapy, but that's a rare, weird and extreme cases that make everyone ask "what the?".

Most of the time it is to relax a bit, which is part of health-care, but is more for profit.

  • @TheMedievalMan Technically, the United States is a "Federal Presidential Constitutional-Republic" with a "Capitalist Mixed Economy"

  • @NatedogJr Im not even so sure if its Capitalist anymore. Maybe Corporatist/Socialist?

  • @TheMedievalMan Socialist economy? No!!!!

Mixed economy is an economic system in which both the state and private sector direct the economy, reflecting characteristics of both market economies and planned economies. Most mixed economies can be described as market economies with strong regulatory oversight, in addition to having a variety of government-sponsored aspects.

  • @NatedogJr Corporatist/Socialist! YES!!!

Were part Socialist, look at our welfare, high taxation, public education etc. What the fuck do you think this is called? Socialism of course! At the same time being over taxed to fund these Socialist programs. Were paying to bail out big business from their problems, such as the automobile industry. There is no strict definition of a so-called "Mixed Economy". Thats a broad term that could mean anything, not just your own explanation.

  • @TheMedievalMan Well Socialism in the U.S does not work!!! It's slowing the U.S economic growth...

  • @NatedogJr Its like having sludge in your engine. It needs to be cleaned out by a good mechanic. And that mechanic is Ron Paul's Auto Shop.

  • I live in Sweden, what you people in the USA would call a "socialist country" tough I wouldn’t call Sweden that. But saying that (democratic)socialism is the same as communism is insane. I would say that 70% of the Swedish population at least are social democrats, although not all of them votes for the Swedish social democratic party, we Swedes strongly dislikes communism because it is a utopian totalitarian ideology.

  • socialists are scum! hitler was a socialist! he was the leader of the national socialist german workers party. total scum! & the ussr means union of soviet socialist republic. so in world war 2 when germany & russia were at war with eachother they were both left wing, both socialist, both run by worst criminals in history.America has been hijacked by these socialist scum.the new world order will be a totalitarian socialist world government.you will all be slaves.

  • They outta work on elimanting are manufactural dependence of china. before the chinese thrust a dagger into are backs instead of handing out stimulus they should of invested in that it would of provided jobs and a whole lot of em. why did we go to war anyway following a man who is a certified dumbass and a vice president who shoots a man in the face bird hunting.lol

  • I love how they try to make people scared of socialism by putting communism right behind it in the intro making people assume bad of it. No capitalism hasn't made us the superpower of shit we are barely hanging on while the communist china and whatever india is, is taking the jobs. capitalism is all about greed and that leads to destruction.

  • but capitalism has made us the superpower of the world and has people fleeing their socialist/communist country to be here

  • Glen beck is ignorant as much as average rednecks. He doesn't even try to listen Frank's ideas and thoughts, all he did was to clash and cut the serious arguments Frank was trying to make.

  • @xanaxist You sir, are a bigot.

  • He doesnt know what socialism means did u see how fast glenn beck tried to shut him up

  • would u rather have 7 billion glenn becks or 7 billion people who care about one another

  • I have to admit that I am not familiar with Brazilian politics. But you must know that not all people that receive welfare checks are registered as unemployed. Some are registered as sick, or unable to work, or some other group so they don't add to the unemployment data.

Now we can agree that privatized profits and socialized losses is a bad thing and that is exactly what is going on here in Iceland. That is something Friedman warned about.

  • @Arnarstyrb NO ONE IN THE OCCUPY MOVEMENT IS ASKING FOR WELFARE. We just want REAL INFRASTRUCTURE BUILDING TO CREATE JOBS, not like that BS Obama "stimulus" crap which was 90% money for businesses he liked. We want LOWER taxes on small business, AN END TO NAFTA AND TRADE AGREEMENTS THAT GET OUR JOBS SHIPPED TO CHINA. We don't want handouts, we want PAID EMPLOYMENT, HEALTHCARE AND A FAIR SHAKE. And most of all, WE WANT TO END THE MASSIVE MILITARY SPENDING THAT'S KILLING OUR DEFICITS. NO EMPIRE!

  • @mysticresistence Then we have more in common than I thought. You know there are some Republicans and Democrats getting together trying to End The Fed, which I think is great. They are both well informed and well-intentioned, which is uncommon among politicians lol. Watch a video called "Ron Paul , Dennis Kucinich And The Federal Reserve" here on youtube. I bet we will agree there.

  • @Arnarstyrb Do you know what it originally meant to be "politically incorrect"? It meant LISTENING TO THE TRUTH EVEN IF IT GOES AGAINST YOUR OWN IDEOLOGY. I agree w/Ron Paul on the Fed & many other issues, even if some other progressives think I'm nuts. I say good Americans everywhere need t unite for change regardless of labels. It's time for progressives, greens, libertarians, and REAL conservatives to understand that it's the crooks in BOTH PARTIES vs the rest of us.

  • Any one else notice that when Mr. Llewellyn OWNED Glenn Beck by making the GREAT POINT that Sarah Palin runs a state that has wealth distribution, Glenn Beck had NOTHING TO SAY?! Very good point, Mr. Llewellyn.

  • This guys is quality (not Glenn Beck)

  • All you people defending socialism fail to see how welfare socialism is destroying productivity in Europe. It is making people more equal, except the political class of course, but equally poor. People are educated by the State so they will never blame the State for their poverty, they blame capitalism.

  • @Arnarstyrb how intelligent. who told you that, Ronald Reagan?

  • @llewisddiaz LOL it was either him or Milton Friedman.

But still that socialist guy is just ridiculous, I mean, lottery for advertisements? Larger bailouts on a regular basis? I hope you don't think that's intelligent.

  • @Arnarstyrb Actually, in Denmark the poverty rate is A LOT LOWER than it is in the US. Want to see poverty? Look at the most capitalistic country on Earth: SOMALIA.

  • @mysticresistence Somalia bases their constitution on sharia laws, so I came to the conclusion that your statement that they are the most capitalistic country is somehow incorrect. Denmark just elected a left wing government a few weeks ago. Just wait and see how the decline in living standard will develop, just like it did in Iceland with it's left wing government.

  • @Arnarstyrb No, actually Somalia didn't have a constitution or functional government at all for 2 decades following the collapse of the government. They were a completely capitalistic country & see what it got them. As for Denmark, they've been a social democracy for decades, unlike Iceland who listened to that idiot Milton Friedman & de-regulated their banks and saw a collapse as a result. Oh, and look at what happened when Brazil elected the far-left government of Da Silva:UNPRECEDENTED GROWTH

  • @mysticresistence In Iceland, the state owned the 3 largest banks. They were nationalized and literally given to representatives of the ruling political parties, and a foreman of one of those parties became head of the central bank, to allocate public funds to his buddies. During all of this, taxes on individuals were 36% and taxes on businesses were 25%. If you find Dr. Friedman endorse this process somewhere let me know. Don't mistake Cronyism for Capitalism.

  • @Arnarstyrb "The most prominent disciple of Milton Friedman in Iceland was Hannes Hólmsteinn Gissurarson [...]. Milton and Hannes were friends and were members of the same club, which shaped the most recent era of history. "-Saving iceland dot org. Iceland de-regulated the banking system like he said and hence, they collapsed. Denmark didn't and hence, they remained stable.

  • @mysticresistence Denmark also has a real problem of immigration. Their welfare system seems to attract leeches from all the corners of the world and they have a high population of people that see no need for work. It is not wise to allow people to make a career out of being poor and lazy.

  • @Arnarstyrb As for immigration, Denmark has a immigrant proportion of 6.3%, the smallest of every country in the EU except Italy and Portugal. As for unemployment, theirs unemployment rate is 6.6%, well below both the EU average of 9.6% and the rate in the US of 9.1%. The only people allowed to make a career out of being lazy are the super-rich, whom make their money off the labor of the worker and when they're in trouble, uncle Sam comes in in bails them out. Privatize gains, socialized looses.

  • @Arnarstyrb Oh, and you still haven't explained how one of the fastest growing economies with a poverty rate that's falling faster than Obama's approval rating gained its prosperity by turning into a Social Democracy under the leadership of a leftist government. Can you explain how the great Lula Da Silva of Brazil used far-left tactics to turn his country around?...or does he not really exist and he's just a made up person created by the liberal/socialist conspiracy? LOL

  • @mysticresistence Privatized profits and socialized losses is what we call crony capitalism or cronyism. It absolutely must not be mistaken for free market capitalism. We believe that a government that is limited by law can not hand out money or arbitrary law in favor of some companies at the expense of everyone else. The same with money, some people make extravagant amounts by influencing policies of central banks which most common people have a hard time understanding.

  • Comment removed

  • @Arnarstyrb I NEVER said I was against the free market. A Social Democracy is a free market system that uses law and order and a democratic government to ensure the fairness of the free market. Capitalism is like fire: it's great, as long as it's CONTROLLED.

  • @mysticresistence What central banks and money creation actually is, is a massive transfer of wealth from the poor and the middle class to the richest people. We work hard for money and then astronomic sums are just added to the accounts of the favorite cronies. I don't understand why the Occupy movement won't point at Obama since he has received most money of all politicians from the banks and he unscrupulously grants them secret loans from the FED. Please don't blame free markets for this BS.

  • @Arnarstyrb Are you crazy? WE ALL HATE OBAMA! & yes, we agree:END THE FED. The Fed is the largest counterfeiting operation in history. It creates inflation which is a TAX, and a tax we the lower earners are hit hardest by. We agree, the Fed has GOT TO GO, ALONG WITH OBAMA. We should have a plain old National Bank that handles currency but DOESN'T PRINT IT, like we did in the beginning of the country w/Alexander Hamilton. Didn't you see the Occupy people shouting at Obama? We hate the bum too

  • Frank doesn't rise himself to Glenn and much respect to him for that.

  • Well done Frank Llewellyn!

  • Even if Beck was a plumber having a conversation in a bar, I would be tempted to go over and correct him. This man is on TV telling people who can't think for themselves what to think. What's going on?

  • Wall Street destroyed the American unions and in consequence the American middle class ... Slandered unions calling for revolutionary, socialist or communist ... Here in Brazil, when unions decide to strike for higher wages, are not called communist or socialist ... Results? In Brazil, 39 million people migrated to the middle class in the last decade ... Here's a labor code called CLT (Consolidation of labor laws) that protect workers and unions against dismissal without just cause ... etc.

  • This is why the U.S. are no longer respected in the world ... for ignorant and racist comments madeby an American idiot who thinks the only country in the world is the U.S. ... knows neither the hair of his ass ... That's not true "philbone1975"? Will study more you ignorant!

  • Glenn Beck constantly rails against Socialists, Communists and Progressives but then when he finally gives them a chance to defend their ideaologies he makes a huge joke out of the interview.

  • beck mumbling too himself, in the corner of a padded cell, in a straight jacket,socialism,socialism,socialism,socialism,socialism........

  • He disses The Count!?! THE MAN HAS GONE TOO FAR!!!

  • becks such a fag

  • no matter what you say to people like Glen Beck they just won't listen. Social Medicine as he calls it work, because the people of that nation have to worry less about spending money on another bill at the end of the month. To say you don't have a choice in the matter with social medicine is idiotic. In the United Kingdom we also have private health care if the individual so chooses so. It just so happens we have the choice if we want private healthcare which the Americans don't seem to at all.

  • Glenn Beck is obviously a dick head. Leave to FOX and republicans to call some one in for a discussion, and spend the entire time trying to tear into their beliefs and have a complete disregard for the intelligent conversation the other person is trying to have. Christian extremist+politics+greed-intelligence=republican

  • This idiot does not know the difference between socialism and communism, here in Brazil we also have free public health, public university, as it has in the UK. The U.S. was socialism that began with FDR after the Second War until the early 80's, but simply, the U.S. government has called a different name, STATUS OF SOCIAL WELFARE. And ask your grandparents if they were bad to live in the states ned during the decade of 50, 60, 70? I think not ... Kisses from Brazil!

  • @brunolimamaia Brazil is a shithole like Mexico , and other South American countries .

  • Glenn needs to have a more defined idea of what socialism is, he groups neoconservatism, progressivism, and keynesianism all in one group and conflates them as 'socialist', a sensible debate on this subject with someone like him is ridiculous. America is certainly not on the road to socialism, and Canada is not a socialist nation at all

  • YouTube recommendation:

Glenn Beck - Road to Socialism: Democratic Socialists of America

    Because you watched

Walter Cronkite's [negative] Opinion of Fox News

    ಠ_ಠ

  • So according to Glen Beck a single socialistic position makes a party/country socialist.

  • Proud to be a Libertarian Socialist

  • so you choose to share your candy. See this is the problem with that stupid argument that if people are able to choose they will be nice.

If that was the case, if rich CHOOSE to pay workers better. If they CHOOSE to share their money, we wouldnt have states.

  • America was built on capitalism, socialism is the end of america. thanks obama

  • @shwy23 lol i love comments like this so much

Obama is probably a Muslim as well right?

  • I don't understand why so Americans have a problem with a democratic socialist state, and atheism. And what I really don't understand is why they don't want free heath care. Please somebody explane it to me.

  • @09KEVO09 I believe America have installed fear into their nation to keep them under Capitalist Control. the few individual powerful elite run and own the country are shit scared of common ownership and a democratic society. It is in their interests to spread as much propaganda about Socialism as possible (although "Socialist" countries actually ruined the image around 90 years ago) so they can maintain in power and maintain their wealth and greed

  • @MrLovethelife so it all comes down to money. Is what your saying

  • @09KEVO09 lol....yes :)

I encourage you, and anyone for that matter, to research socialism (my particular ideology is a cross between liberartian/democratic and Trotskist Socialism)

  • @MrLovethelife I have, but I think the problem is a lot of people haven't read anything about socialism (in any of it's forms) all they see is a hammer and sickle. And like you say the rich 1% is keeping that way

  • @09KEVO09 good to hear of your reading comrade..

I personally think the best outlook we can have is optimism. I believe the ruling elite want us to be defeated and de-moralised. The best chance for socialism is to educate and agitate! I do agree with you though and thats why I think Socialism should drop the hammer and sickle.....Are you in any groups?

  • @MrLovethelife no just pissed off at the way the world is going, and even more annoyed at the way most people don't care.

  • @09KEVO09 What are the UPS and DOWNS of Democratic Socialism?

Atheism- The U.S is a Christian dominated country. We do have Jews, Hindus, Muslims, and such. But the U.S is Chrisitan dominated. Also, I'm not religious or anything but isn't prostitution, gangbanging, doing drugs, and such "illegal" in Christianity and other religions.

  • @NatedogJr Well you would be shocked at what the bible lets you do, things like slavery, rape, murder of anyone who doesn't worship Jesus, killing gays, genocide, killing everyone on the planet (noah's flood) and that you can do anything you what just as long as you ask for gods forgiveness that includes prostitution and gangbanging. and some other religions are a lot worse than that. And there are ups and downs to socialism but if done right it's a lot better than the system we have.

  • @09KEVO09 Well, if what you say abouut the Bible is true, then I am not religious at all. Gang banging, rape, doing drugs and murder (except for war-time) are all agianst my values. Prostitiution is a little different (I'm a guy actually, African American). Sexual desire is human nature......

  • @NatedogJr Trust me the bible is a lot worse than that. There are places were prostitution is legal and it's lot better for the prostitute but thing like this are a mine filed of problems, that's why it best left to the politicians.

  • @09KEVO09 Speaking of prostitution, why is it illegal, though, in the U.S i mean? I mean sex is human nature, but why is it illegal.....?

  • @NatedogJr In some states of america prostitution legal. But go to amsterdam in the netherlands and you've got weed and prostitution and there is no problems there so.

  • I've got to say i'm impressed with Glenn Beck. It's the first time he has actually been able to come with a half decent point. ONE half decent point.

  • @Tougemaster06. ok there is a difference between social democracy and marxism. a social democracy is still a capitalist system and marxism is not at all. i understand your point that socialised medicine comes from socialism i.e having free services such as healthcare. but what i dont get is that in america they have socialised a lot of things like education, police, and libraries. so what is wrong with giving people healthcare they are entitled to

  • @FutureMarineTWC

  • Did anybody else read the expression on the coffee mug? Glenn Beck is an incredible representative of Fox News: pompous, ignorant, and incredibly unintelligent.. I was hoping to scroll down and see other supporters of Democratic Socialism :) However, I find it extraordinary that there are actual supporters of this network. My only qualm with a democratic state: the majority rules, and the majority isseemingly always composed of fucking idiots.

  • @FutureMarineTWC Mister, you devolved.

  • "I'm just asking questions?"

  • workers self management of the work place is direct democracy in the gov

  • workers self management of the work place direct democracy

  • i believe in a market were goods are traded by the value of the labor used to create them and a mutual bank gives loans with low interest (enough to pay for the maintenance of the bank) and each individual owns a means of production either individually or collectively

  • so instead of dealing with insane lawmakers who torment citizens, lets get a civil system of socialist equality fairness and benevolence where people arent forced into servitude and slavery for things crucial to survival and joy of living, like a fkn house land and food, lawmakers want to control and steal everything, make everyone miserable enslaved and hate life and deny rights ,deny equality, deny tax free land, promote scorn, intolerance, hate, then punish you with their lowlife police

  • 97% of all crimes are caused by a misery system of slavery and servitude spread equal

otherwords, poverty inequality and the arbitrary denial of equal human rights

(and i mean equal rights where the rights of joe isnt sacrificed for the sake of john as preferential treatment) is the cause of crime, the people that make up the justice system have to be unenlightened imbeciles to expect civil peace by slapping oppressive laws over a system of approved forced labor servitude and inequality

  • Even if socialism ever would occur in USA, there is so much corruption in our government, that there still would be stealing. The real problem are the feds, federal reseverve, etc. The presidents are the puppets. Ron Paul had it right.

  • Beck doesn't really know how to argue when presented with an actual definition of socialism

  • This guy is a hero, I love how he got that grin on his face whenever glen said something ridiculous.

  • "There Keynsian economic policy, they don't change power relations"----FUCKING BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Mr. Beck, you twit, if I may? (sarcastic chuckle) Just because it has the word socialist, or someone calls themselves socialist, doesn't make them socialist. Take the the Nazi's if you will, please (another sarcastic chuckle) they called themselves socialist, but were they?

  • Oh my god, Glenns reasoning and the whole" come on have an M&M because their mine" theory is embarrassing. lol. blessed with ignorance and arrogance

  • 0:05 - 0:10 LOL pissing my pants!!

  • @126anonymous

Trotskyism-the theory that socialism should be established throughout the world by continuing revolution.

Strange how dictionaries predictably fall short of tracing the origins of these ideas.. Apparently Trotskyism doesn't even involve Trotsky by your standard of thorough research??

Perhaps you can look up Irving Kristol or the YPSL?? But be prepared to read more than one sentence.. Perhaps even paragraphs!!

    Seriously, just look it up...

  • wow....glenn beck is a real jerk...and really ignorant!

  • @BandrewD Or you could have said " Im proud to not have a clue as to how economic engines work and what fuels them" Horray for you!

  • You should be entitled to work hard for your M&Ms, but there should be a limit to how many total M&Ms you own in your lifetime if you refuse to reinvest excess M&Ms into your community. You shouldn't be allowed to earn outrageous amounts of M&Ms at the expense of your community, and then turn around and manipulate government so you don't have to reinvest the excess into your community. No one person needs billions of M&Ms to live comfortably.

  • Yes you deserve the ownership of your "M&Ms" because the workers made the "M&Ms", produce the wealth made by the "M&Ms", and the "M&Ms" are maintained by the wealth produced by the workers.

  • Llewellyn absolutely owned Beck in this segment -- on his own show!

  • its very wrong to say the parties to the "right" because the right for ex here in Sweden is the liberal parties.,

  • "Most of the people who are writing about Socialism don't know anything about it either" THANK GOD!!! That SO needed to be said!!! This man is eloquent and quick on his feet, and knows how to deal with idiots like Beck. He is also clearer than the CPUSA chair was about Socialism being democratization. Interesting point about Sarah Palin, too.

  • @starwarsgeek8 Yeah, I was glad to see Sam Webb on here but with Beck's constant shouting and stupidity, as well as his misinformation and distorting Sam's position, it was hard to keep up. But Frank Llewllyn was better at countering Beck's points and explaining his position.

  • God tells Beck to share, I think that's even more pathetic

  • i loved glenny's response to the palin-chavez comparison. his ass was completely owned and he didn't have a thing to say about it. glenny's complete misunderstanding of socialism (something he talks about nonstop) is criminal.

  • fat guy kept eyeing up them M&Ms - you could tell he really wanted some

  • Comment removed

  • glenn beck is so ignorant about what socialism is. in england we have the NHS a free healthcare service, it does not mean we are socialist nation far from it. small and medium businesses make up a lot of our economy thats a fact so we are one of the most capitalist countries in the world. he says having universal healthcare is socialist its really not. its just giving people the free health they are entitled to. he was so patronising towards that socialist guy.

  • @leeb19yido Of course he was. Obama had the right idea at the start of his administration in just not talking to Fox at all, they're NOT a news service, they're a propaganda wing of the radical right, and for the DSA head to appear on this vile show only lends him credibility he doesn't deserve.

Beck lies DAILY about socialism and what it means, and the hate radio meme that President Obama is a "socialist" is hysterical and false as can be, cheap scummy McCarthyism for the 21st century.

  • @leeb19yido Socialized medicine is a socialist concept. Why? Because socialized medicine is based on the idea that people have a basic fundamental human right to healthcare in a modern society. Social democracy is basically democratic socialism(aka democratic Marxism) lite.

  • @leeb19yido Free healthcare is a socialist idea. But most countries have now adopted some parts of socialism as it balances out society. So you and I are both right, since it's no longer exclusively socialist, but it is a socialist idea nonetheless :)

  • @leeb19yido

indeed he was mate, very rude., in my country we have free hospitals and private hospitals, just as the UK.

  • I despise the fact that most Americans assume that socialism is evil. It is not evil; in fact, if you look through the Bible, Jesus would most likely be a socialist, economically. Now I am not a Christian, kind of Buddhist actually, but it still would change Americans' views if they knew this. All the time people hear about how socialism is against responsibility. Yet, the point of a government is to ensure the health and prosperity of the majority of its people, i.e.-socialism.

  • @QBRebel16 Well, I am a devout and committed Christian and you're absolutely CORRECT, in fact the book of Acts makes it clear the first Christians were socialists. Jesus says over and over again that the wealthy are to help the needy. It's about as basic a part of Christ's way as there is.

The sick LIE that socialism is against "responsibility" or "hard work" all comes from this childish myth that in America ANYONE can become rich if they just "work hard", which isn't remotely true.

  • @PrisonerNumber9653 the wealthy are to help the needy... but not necessarily through State coercion

  • @xaviqaz It's not "help the needy if you feel like it," nor is there ever any advocating taking advantage of them to make yourself obscenely rich when you DON'T feel like throwing the needy a few bones.

And why is what you call "state coercion" fine to gather funding for warmaking and weapons, but not to feed children without enough, or education, or health care?

  • @PrisonerNumber9653 State coercion to fund war and weapons is not fine either. I would rather prefer taxation to work at the most local level possible. Yesterday the people in swiss canton Neuchatel was asked about a corporate tax cut (77% voted for it); in another place people were asked about increasing taxes for the wealthy (voted against it)... I like that. This is an example of country where the rich pay around 10% to the central government and still enjoys the highest standards of living.

  • @xaviqaz Brilliant, so we have no nation, just thousands of little ones. That makes no sense at all.

The Swiss, yeah, that's a reasonable comparison, they have about the same number of people in poverty as we do (rolls eyes)

  • @PrisonerNumber9653 Little "nations" to prevent big government from going to war or launching another wasteful projects. In Switzerland there are no secessionist movements (even if they have 4 official languages) and the central government only gets 1/3 of overall revenues (D.C. gets 2/3). Anyway, if you want a reasonable comparison look at demographics: USA grows by 3 million a year (+90 million in last three decades) while countries like Germany lose population.

  • Glenn back, right off of the bat comes in with the most childish arguement.. fucking M&M's....

  • Here's whats scary, if you look at the very extreme, the ultimate form of the left, progressives etc. IS Communism...however, the most extreme for of the right is Fascism....whats worse?

  • @BandrewD That's because you've already made peace with the fact that you'll never make any meaning full contributions to society... so what the next best thing? Take from those who do! And punish them for being... what? Smart and productive? Thanks for making the world a better place you selfish assholes.

  • I dont mean to brag, but i live in Norway, and we are solid proof, that democratic socialism is a good form of goverment. Im not saying its the best, but i do think it contributes to the fact that we are among the best countries to live in, in the world.

  • beck is a shill

    incase that wasnt obvious enough.

    america is fascist, not socialist.

  • There is so much crap spouted about socialism For elucidation on the subject, google 'A Point of View' by Andy Cox,and 'SPGB'

  • people who believe in socialism clearly don't study their history because every country that is socialist has more people living in the slums than what the U.S. has. SOCIALISM DOESN'T WORK!!!!!! GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULLS!!!! IF YOU DONT LIKE THE WAY OUR COUNTRY WAS CREATED THEN MOVE TO VENEZUELA OR CUBA AND SEE HOW YOU LIKE IT THERE......

  • @GhostICM Reaaaly? Hehe, Sweden has been run by a socialist party for several years. Once again some stupid ass confuses communism with socialism. Get your terms rigth!

  • @snorcutter Well communism is a form of socialism, but its ran by bad leaders atm. But don't get me wrong I'd rather have democracy more than anything other government since the Norwegians are number 1 on the HDI for quite sometime now.

  • @Bronzecop Socialism and communism are different but both are forms of collectivism.

  • @ihateusernamesable Ahhhh the example of complete civilian & complete government ownership, I'd rather have the one where the civilians own everything & the gov't is there to do its job.

  • @GhostICM What about the Scandinavian countries? Those are some of the richest countries in the world, and they're socialist.

By the way, Haïti has about the same political structure and economical system as America and it's in the top ten poorest countries in the world.

US is only rich because they profited a lot after World War II, by helping rebuild Europe, making European countries indebted to the US. So you're linking two different things, man.

  • JESUS WAS NOT A SOCIALIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! did jesus really teach to steal from people who made the right choices in life so that they can make good money? if you read it the bible it will even say "you are not your brothers keeper". which means you have to work in life to be blessed. People who like socialism are the people who dont want to work for what they get.

  • I like Frank

  • Jesus was a Socialist. I say that proudly. I think also since i have free speech in this great country of ours to say that Socialism and Democracy go hand in hand. Capitalism is based upon greed and it is evil. i am 15 years old by the way. And i know this...its sad that most adults just want more power and money. Why? it will not bring you joy. Oh and Socialism is NOT NOT NOT Communism. Socialism is a economic system and Communism is a political system. DUH!!

  • Wow, Glenn Beck...is an asshole.

  • i like glenn beck more and more for what he shows about the fabian socialists in my country who supported hitler and mussilini and are the driving force behind the labour party today who want national ID like out of 1930s germany, thell be a even bigger bonfire this year if the government forces that crap on us

  • This video made me do a facepalm.

  • He's a rude jackass.

  • Damn right glenn, I'm signing up to be a socialist. Not all of us make or ever will make $23 million dollars a year you fuckin pig.

  • @mrawesome15 you sound like a little high school girl who didnt get her favorite dress, wa wa wa wa, i wont either but doesnt make me want to rip down other peoples success.

  • @mrawesome15 I'm with you lol.

  • I bet Glenn Beck even thinks centrism, liberal conservatism or ideologies that are close to the centre are considered socialist or communist since he thinks anything bordering on the least bit of government control or government spending is considered socialist. That is something people have to realize that all normal countries spend money to stimulate economies and that is the reason the US keeps getting weaker economically of course it is not the main reason. It is that and many other things.

  • @melissa4444444

the guys thinks neo-keynesianism is socialist. he is one shouty nut job

  • The problem with Glenn Beck is he never talks about how the Scandinavian countries have had success when it comes to high taxation and strong social programs and their experimenting with social democracy has been a success. That is something Glenn Beck needs to be asked since if they succeeded there why can't it succeed in the United States. There are so many variants of socialism just like there are many variants of conservatism. Thank you.

  • @melissa4444444 I live in a scandinavian country(sweden), and even though we have some clear socialist tendencies, the party that allowed us to do so well even though there's a crisis, is the moderates, which is our most right wing party (out of the big ones). He did it by lowering taxes and government spending. And I would say our economy is doing well in spite of high taxes, not because of it(because of our natural resources like wood). I'm a libertarian btw

  • @Chaaarge

don't forget iron, and gold, and uranium that we don't dig up :)

  • Glenn Beck considers Canada socialist cuz they have socialist policies like their health care policies. I wonder if he thinks the USA is socialist because we have socialist countries like police stations and fire departments.

  • Too funny>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Since you all love this socialism, I'm poor and need to stay somewhere this weekend. (I use internet cafes) Can I share your home?

    Thought not.

However if you do put your address and I'm near enough I will come over.

    Don't try to bluff me.

    Oh......that's what I thought.
