what i love about kitajima is that he never panics. breaststroke is usually swum faster when you lengthen out your stroke. kitajima always uses the full extent of his kick and streamline and doesnt work on mainly arm speed....

i live in japan and ive seen him swimming a couple of times.

his stroke is so perfect.breakstroke isnt about power its about the skill of swimming.

his only like 170cm and he swims faster then the big guys like 2m

Kitajima is not on a break, he's in LA training and learning English. he swam this week at US Short Course and was second in the 100yd br in 52.07s

Kitajima did not participate in rome. And non of the swimmers in rom had the perfekt technique like kitajima. Next Olympics kitajima will own them. And there won't be these swimming suits, which of course made rickard swim a 58.58!

a bet says next Olympics Kitajima wins 100 and 200 breast if he competes :D When Kitajima went 58.91 he was wearing lzr legskins and not a full body fully polyurethane suit. most of the guys that went 59 this year will never do it again. pre 2008 only 3 people in the world had gone 59 (Roman Sloudnov, Kitajima and Hansen) in 100m breaststroke and it will be a similar situation from now on. the big guys will struggle
