THEY ARE BACK!!! They have just released a brand new EP and done a 6 date UK Tour this week. Check out their facebook page and also earthtone9.co.uk AMAZING!!!!
Go to earthtone9.co.uk for a free and legal download of a best of compilation from their official site.16 songs plus a couple of desktops. Like it says on the site if you like the album share the link ;)
Hahah!y boyfriends band supported these a few years ago and they stayed over at his house and they had a magazine that had a questionnaire innit which asked the question " who is your favourite band"? and they had written "Earthtone 9" and the band read it and to them it was awfully ebarrassing!!!!!!
I will always love this band. I remember eating cornflakes backstage with Karl (the vocalist) and my mate Barry, just straight out the box and getting really pissed. Sound guys. As was Karl when we put The Blueprint on in Cov.
These will always remain in the top 5 of my favourite bands ever.
@StepSoftlyGhost Eating cornflakes backstage? For some reason that made me lol. It's like some people remember shooting heroin with Courtney Love or dropping acid with Ministry...you ate cornflakes with earthone9! :D
Hey i'm from Dorset! anyways i've only got into ET9 in the last few months but have all the albums, can't stop listening to em so different to all the metalcore and deathcore crap around atm
One of my all time fav bands. For anyone interested in finding some similar music i advise Mnemic. Danish metal band. Don't listen to the last album with the new singer tho - it aint so hot. Peace.
Wasnt anyone like them before and theyre hasnt been anyone like them since. Earthtone9 come and go and no one bats an eyelid and yet shite like bullet for my valentine are hailed as the heroes of british heavy music. Black is white up is down and the world is mad.
I totally agree. They should have dominated the planet! It disgusts me that they didn't. They pissed over anything from the US. I was lucky enough to go on tour with these boys, get to know them and get pissed with em lots. Really nice guys too!
I got to meet them once at a gig in dublin in 2001. A nice bunch of guys and totally humble and as un-rock starish as you can get. What band were you in man?
dude! i feel sorry for anyone on that label when it came to getting your stuff to Australia .. i worked for a distro co in melbourne and we had some SNUB albums along with earthtone9 and the label owner wouldn't let me promote them! How fucked is that! ET9 should have been massive ... suppose it shows that they were too intelegent for the majority of the people who buy albums! massive loss to the music world!
Copro wouldn't let you promote them??? I'd be interested to know why!! ET9 got good exposure here in the UK but I think the label were out of their depth abroad. I guess the best way is to license bands to other labels abroad so they get maximum exposure overseas.... after all the label will still make money from album sales. Can't loose really!!
it wasn't corpo, it was the local label who did their distro. the guy who ran it had some strange ideas on how to run a record company! it was crap! in a BIG way. they could have been great the world over.
does anyone know an earthtone 9 song that had the words 'clarity, show me' in it.... i know thats not very specific, but i heard it on a promo cd ages ago and i need to hear it again! :/ thanks...
I love Et9 still, even if they have split up. There music is still excellent and still sounds good even now. `Evil crawling`, what a song. Ive never heard the song on the video before, but I like it. They should get back together again lol.
Sorry to sound crass but I found the vast majority of UK metal bands at that time to be just as bad as their US counterparts. Bands like Vacant Stare and Subvert were pretty awful. However, I loved ET9 and it's a big loss they broke up.
Yeah I'd agree with you there, some of those bands were guilty of the worst band wagon jumping. Subvert weren't too bad though I thought. Generally quite grim days for music between 1997-2002 I thought. Still as you say, ET9 were pretty good.
ahh this brings back a few good memories :D Casket are you an employe of ET9's old record label by any chance? or are you part of the old crowd that hung out on their message board?
fuck whatever happened to all the good UK bands. ET9, vacant stare, stoopi, jor... They were all light years ahead of all that cheap american shit that was around back then like disturbed and coal chamber and stuff. proper proper bullshit i tell you
Thanks for uploading the mix! It made my day.

A lot like Earthtone 9, but a little more consistently heavy. I have Monolith, and it is KILLER.

As for the subject, a total shame and a waste of what I still regard to be the best UK band of the last decade. Mon the et9!!
