  • glass is actually 3/4 full

  • YOu can make "My Shake" any day of the week

  • What does this shake have to do with acquiring abs?? Also, why is there no fats in the shake? If you are really a nutritionist you should know better, especially if it has all the vitamins you claim,, you need healthy fats in there.

  • niiiice belly

  • I'm in love with this girl!

  • @milosh0411 me too i dnt normalii ever do this lol

  • You make healthy shakes very appealing, even with the lack of chocolate. You look great for 41.

  • mmmm..... tasty. No, not the protein shake.

  • if you really make shakes each and every day and sometime multiple times per day, then go buy a Blendtec. No more crushing Ice with a hammer!! And it will last forever!

  • I say it doesn't matter if you have a lot of glasses, atleast thats how I see it.

  • people generaly make the mistake of training thier abs and thier muscles in the same way. you want to cut fat carlories and cardio for loosing weight and seeing abs and you want to increase calories when you build muscle. most bodybuilders go through phases of this, cutting calories and doing cardio before competition so thier abs show.

  • milk and dairy is most peoples problem not the cure. when i want to build muscle i drink milk and eat lots of meat, when i want to cut fat and see my abs i go on a vegan diet and do lots of cardio.

  • Damn, you're hot for your age.

  • dayummm you look like 20 :O

  • certified babe too! :)

  • Hey Vix how long have been eating healthy? Do you time your meals throughout the day? What's your plan?

  • I am 41 now and have been eating healthy most of my adult life but the older I get the cleaner my diet becomes, always changing. I eat right after my morning workout and pretty much every 3 hours thereafter. My plan is always to eat lots of vegetables, good quality lean protein, omega-3 rich fats and carbs from whole food sources. Working on my written plan right now to share with you all. Will keep you posted. Thanks for viewing. Please check out my "Eat 2 Liv: Omega-3 fats" concept pilot :-)

  • @KitchenScienceVixen 41 ? i thought u were 21 :) tremendous work KSV !

  • @KitchenScienceVixen

....You're 41? You look virtually half your age, good god... and you're smart, too... your husband/boyfriend must be the luckiest man in the world.

  • where is he HD button when you need it.

  • I know, right? My apologies. The video quality has gone done the longer these videos live on You Tube. Not sure how to fix it except to perhaps upload them again, Ugh!

  • hot as hell

  • um that glass is definitely more like 3/4 of the way full

  • Need to get a better camera. Your video is a touch blurry. Content is great. I can smell the minty chocolate from here. :-)

  • @kurtz905 no before....you need the energy

  • ... i'm in love...!!!

  • ur beautiful !!!

  • I'd do about anything to get intimate with 'your self' in your kitchen. ;)

Ehm sorry, this was meant as a wordplay, a joke..and I just couldn't resist.

But hey, looks your diet is working out good for you, you're eye-candy :)

My older brother is a bodybuilder, I'm a newcomer.. managed to reduce my body fat to a low level, and build up a good endurance, need to work on my muscles tho. I think it's a shame that not many women are as interested in working out (not just staying slim).. Keep it up!

  • your pretty !

  • OMG i got a boner just watching this video

no lie especially when your like up close and intimate

  • Thanks for the info It is some really good stuff:)

  • Vegetarianism has also been linked to major dramatic fat lose. I found a pretty interesting book on Amazon Kindle that's worth checking out. It called "Why You Must Become A Vegetarian". Definitely worth checking out

  • hey, what do u think about Anabolic Whey protein? i drink it with low fat milk, without that extra things that u put in. it helps me alot and i feel that i have more power especially when im on a diet. i lost alot of weight while i was drinking whey,i like it :D

  • Lots of energy!!! good vid

  • I like your video a lot. Very informative.

By the way, you are very cute :)

  • You're the hottest vixen I've ever seen :)

  • Protein combined with carbs post-exercise will optimize gycogen repletion and facilitate rebuidling muscle that has been torn down during training.... CHECK....

p.s Ms Brown you are a FOX!

  • Thanks for your lovely comment :-)

  • you are gorgeous not even kidding

    whats your name

  • Thank you. Very kind.

    -Elizabeth

  • LOL ..would u lesbians out there quit leaving us guys thumbs down on our great comments on the vid/ broad.

  • Mint and chocolate =S Why do women like that flavourcombination so much? My sister loves that too, but I really hate it =P Yuck! After Eight chocolates, never again!

Tip for you if you don't have a hammer to crush ice. Put the ice in a thin towel and smack it against the wall. Great muscle builder ánd an effective icecrushing methode ;)

  • when it's better to drink or eat protein?? before or after training???or both?

  • You should ingest some carbs and protein within 2-3 hours prior to your workout so there is fuel for the muslces but you also need to replenish the muscles after you workout. Ideally ingest carbs and protein within the first hour after exercise. Protein combined with carbs post-exercise will optimize gycogen repletion and facilitate rebuidling muscle that has been torn down during trianing

  • I've read recently that the whole ''within an hour'' thing isn't true. I read far too many books and magazines on the topic that the conflicting statements can cause a mental meltdown, but they explained this one pretty well. Although; I can't remember it off the top of my head though. I google it and get back to you :)

  • what glass....is there a glass...:P

  • I'm not looking at the glass!

  • @ALLCASTcoUK Cuz Im looking at the ASS!

  • Ok finally, Scoobies girl is found!

  • 24/m/CA

Very informative, KitchenScienceVixen. Because of this vid I subscribed to ur channel.

I've taken a hiatus from weightlifting, so I'm very simplistic w. my protein supplements atm. I simply use whey protein powder (concentrate) and water, and mix it in a wide cup w. a wire whisk. The shake you made is pretty complex w. all its ingredients lol.

If I feel the urge to make meal-replacement-type shakes, I'll look @ vids on ur channel. Thx.

  • i see the cup 3 qtrs full.

  • Sexy mama!

  • I'm taking a nutrition program right now and I was taught that protein shakes are not really necessary if a person is eating a healthy, balanced diet. Also, excess protein gets flushed by the kidneys which could cause kidney problems down the road, and the remaining PRO is converted into fat? I know you're a dietitian, I just thought I'd challenge that because that is what I have been taught.

    Thanks!

  • excess of anything (Calories) will turn into fat

  • @imadisaster

Youre right, you can get the amount of protein you need from your daily diet, but then again, if youre exercising and tearing down muscle, your body needs more then the regular amount to help the healing process.

  • I see a glass thats 2/3 full actually...

  • You look so great....8-P

  • Can you help me with this??? I want to lose weight but don't gain muscles or at least a lotta muscles. I just want to lose weight and make my abs visible. I 've done a bit of research and found that product called promax diet. is it any good? will it help me to achieve what i want to achieve??

  • That's so american .. :D

  • Gosh should I eat you or the protien shake!! Ahh!!! Just kidding!! You're distracting the male psyche but I'm loving it!!! :)

  • yes, but the soy is processed and pasterized not raw...not that optimal..there is a better way. If you were a dietician, you should look into the real truth. we are a species that eats fruits and veggies...period.

  • We all need to eat more vegetables and fruits but you can not meet all of your nutrient needs on only those two food groups. I am a Dietitian and I am always exploring "the real truth" With a Master's of Science in Nutrition and 20 years of knowledge and experience to aid me in my exploration. I don't believe that soy is the optimal food source but it can have a place in a healthy diet. I now use almond milk but who knows what I will use in two more years. Tolerance is another thing to practice.

  • No, you have to eat meat as well, period. B12 and tryptophan ONLY exists in animal products and they are both critical to normal brain function. Also, you NEED saturated fat and you would not be alive without it.

  • You don't NEED meat. There are supplements out in the world.

    Me morning:

    1 B12 supplement

    1 of 2 calcium supliment

    1 flax seed oil pill

    night

    1 multi vitamin

    2nd calcium pill

    1 flaxseed oil pill

  • i work at GNC in north carolina, SOY protein does have negavtive effects on the Male body...and yes ASIANS are scientific rebuttal they been eating soy since 1300!! memory loss, lower sperm count and quality, and increased EStrogen(thats bad btw!)soy every so often or in a complex is better for u and wont have those adverse affects, so just be wary and take in soy only so often...choose the better source protein WHEY ISOLATE

  • Switch to almond milk and this won't be an issue. This video was made before I began using almond milk which I love.

  • what a hottie, one day i'll let you make me a shake

  • You looking at Asians is your scientific rebuttal?

    Flex is a girlie-man mag?

    You're lost.

  • wow she is hot.

  • they are the reason wars exist

  • I see it 3/4 full actually.

  • Any plans in the future for a Protein Bar/Lounge?

You would make a lot of money in the Dc/NoVa area.

    Have a good day.

  • I have soy protein..Is there anything wrong with Soy Protein? I used to drink whey protein shakes, but I was told it add additional calories.

  • Soy and whey protein powders contain about the same amount of calories per serving and both are complete proteins meaning they both contain all of the essential amino acids needed for growth, repair and maintenance. Whey has more Branched Chained Amino Acids which can be converted into a source of blood glucose when needed. Soy protein can be difficult to digest Either way, it is a good idea to vary protein powder types according to what you can tolerate Try brown rice & pea protein alternatives

  • I use to drink casein shakes which just made me bloated.

I switched to vanilla whey protein isolate with a cup of vanilla soy milk, 1/4 cup blackberries, 1/2 banana, & a 1/3 cup of oatmeal.

It's a great meal replacement, with 32 grams of protein, high antioxidants, potassium & fiber. It also tastes awesome!

  • watch out for soy, bro

well watch out for it if you're a bro anyways

it increases estrogen bioavailibility and even releases a bit

    almond milk

I just bought some organic almond milk from whole foods

    good stuff

    low fat

    40 calories to a cup

by 'Pacific Natural Foods' or something like that

probably find it in the healthy cereals isle

  • That's a myth that was scientifically refuted years ago. In fact, it was mentioned again in this months Flex magazine under "Not your Dad's protein", or something like that.

  • very informative, thanks for sharing

  • Oh, thank you so much for your nice compliment. I hope you will view all of my videos on my channel, especially the one called Eat 2 Liv about Omega-3 Fats. Enjoy and have a great day!

  • black strappleabkis? where do i get that how is it spelled?

  • It is "Blackstrap Molasses" and you can find it in the baking isle of almost any grocery store.

  • thanks kitchenscienceVixen you are great! Can you make more videos this is great and informative!

  • Thank you! Have you watched my other videos? What type of info are you looking for? More protein shakes? Give me some suggestions please.

  • Sorry not a Valley Girl at all. I'm PA born and raised. But I do love Cali.

  • you got one nice body

  • Im lame, just protein, banana, 1 cup oats, flax seed oil and water.

  • I've been using almond milk...is that a good choice?

  • Almond milk is wonderful. I began using it a few years ago and now don't use soy milk at all. I prefer the taste and nutrient profile of almond milk: rich in vitamin E, plus vitamin A, Calcium and vitamin D levels comparable to soy & dairy milk. And the unsweetened is only 40 calories per cup.

  • Would you recommend dairy milk. I've looked at alot of these muscle building programs from both Vince Delmonte and Rico Connor, and EVERY single one of them says that dairy products are bad because they are pasteurized.

Also, what can you tell me about hemp protein?

  • That glass is about two thirds full....

  • You are a literal optimist. Great observation!

  • Thank you

    :-)

  • Elizabeth you look great...thanks for the info.

  • hey if i drink a raw egg is that good or bad???

(oh i do it befor work out???)

  • shoooottt i can't understand what you are saying...cos im blown away by that pretty face and that hott bodehh heh ;)

  • Hi Kitchen Science Vixen. Are you a practicing RD?? Do you get clients from this or host group cooking classes? Do people buy meal plans from you? I was just curious, not asking in a bad way. I am a trainer out here in San Diego.

  • Sexy;)

  • In the produce department of most gorcery stores. Usually with the other herbs. If you can't find them, ask an employee. I also use super green powder when I want to make pumpkin or fruit flavored shakes. Super green powder is pretty flavorless but very nutritious.

  • yes kitchen vixen you are hot.........it doesnt matter to me what you are doing..in the kitchen.......you could be digging a hole in the road.......but i like watching you..lol

  • Ha ha, thank you for taking the time to "comment" from Tanzania. Gotta love the internet ;-)

  • no worries chuckie egg..i am full of compliments lol

  • Good video, definitly alot more steps than what I do. My routine is a scoop of chocolate whey protein in a glass cup, add skim milk or water, spoon, mix =]

Though I do find using water gives a better mix than milk. Keep it fit and sexy

    -David

  • she is hot isn't.

  • Very informative. If I could look as good as her by drinking this hake, I would live off them exclusively!

  • Do you ever try and store your drink and later realize the protein separates? Trying to down that is a B if you don't have a blender handy.

  • I use whey protein powder that contains Lecithin which acts as an emulsifier to keep the mix from separating. Look for Protein powders that contain lecithin.

  • seriously you can store it? it doesn't regoopify

  • The only time I experience a "gooopy" consistency is if I add a banana. Later in the day the shake will be thick but the powder will not separate. Even if I do not add a banana the powder will not separate as along as you use a powder with lecithin, a natural emulsifier (something that brings things together)

  • ive heard whey is the safest way to go

  • If your a male, stay away from soy protein, and your right, whey is the safest way to go.

  • Your comment about phytoestrogens is not exactly accurate. There is no consensus in the literature to substantiate your comments.

  • Soy does contain phytoestrogens which MAY exert protective benefits such as protection from reproductive cancers for women and prostate cancer for men. AGAIN I use the word MAY there is no DEFINTIVE here.

  • Your glass looks 1/3 empty or 3/4ths full. That 80s tube top is cool.

  • I make my shake with one scoop of whey protein and 3 tsp of chocolate shake powder every day. And it really works :D

  • I'd like to see a recepie that I could make with things that I would probaly have at home I don't have those leaves n that molasses.

  • You can make a protein shake out of things in your home if you like, but that's obvious. I am trying to show you how to incorporate more nutrients into your protein shake using things which you could have in your home if you simply go to the store and buy them. Mint leaves are very easy to find in the produce section of most grocery stores. You can also use "super green" powders. Molasses is also pretty common, usually found on the bottom shelf in the baking isle. I will work on another shake 4U

  • just get a vainlla protein powder bsn syntha six is the best tasting . milk and peanut butter. take it with orange juice. just mix it in like your favorite smoothie recipe. milk and choclate syrup hersheys has a good sugar free. or you could just get a flavored protein.

  • Isnt the main point of Protein shakes the amount of 'Protein'?

I'm taking Met-Rx, any others better than those shakes?

  • You can use protein shakes as a meal replacement, which I do & a meal is about more than just protein Each day we need to get all of the essential nutrients in our diet, nutrients such as carbohydrates which are the primary fuel source, And fat, especially omega-3 fats. All fats help you absorb & utilize certain vitamins, make hormones, provide insulation & protection, etc. Protein is not the only nutrient. As for the type of shake, choose one u like & can tolerate. It's your call

  • Did she just say she builds all her own furniture... haha

You make me want to be a better man.

  • do protein shakes help make u more buff? for example if ur a woman and u work out and have protein shakes etc, wont u become really buff? so in that case would u be better without it? if ur not looking to become big?

  • Protein doesnt make u buff if your body type is not already inclined to "get buff" We all need protein for many other essential functions besides buidling muscle Functions such as making hormones, digestive enzymes, catalytic enzymes which drive biochemical reactions But if you workout hard, have the body type to gain muscle, eat adequate calories to support muscle growth, then you could gain muscle However, it takes a lot more effort to gain muscle than just merely drinking a protein shake

  • bad actress, good advice :P

  • Ha ha Good thing I was just being my sometimes corny self ;-) Glad you liked the info. Thanks for watching!

  • hahah that was a fast reply.

But anyways, thanks for helping people out. God knows these kind of videos helped me out when i started working out.

  • I have a question, I'm 17 and the protein shake said you need to be 18...so should i comsume prorein shake? my second question is what does protein shakes taste like? for example if they said vinilla does it taste like vanilla? i'm a "guy"...also how much protein should i consume?

  • pretty late reply but yes you can consume protein shakes, it doesn't really matter what age you are, and they do not taste good....they are extremely thick and sometimes chunky. But that's the kind i use so i don't know if they're all bad.

  • you are awesome

  • Wow! Thank you! But you are the awesome one for posting a nice comment. I really appreciate your support!

  • i was wondering i thought guys are not suppose to take soy protein because it builds estrogen levels is that true?

  • Soy contains "phytoestrogens" which are estrogen like compounds that may exert some protective benefits for men and women such as protection from reproductive and breast cancers in women and prostate cancer in men. Some components of soy also help to increase bone density. I also use almond milk but it has less protein and no phytoestrogens. It's really your call as to which you want to use. Thanks for your question.

  • I have a question, I'm 17 and the protein shake said you need to be 18...so should i comsume prorein shake?

my second question is what does protein shakes taste like? for example if they said vinilla does it taste like vanilla? i'm a "guy"...also how much protein should i consume?

my #3 question is this, does protein shakes count as drug? because i'm in the wrestling team.

  • Hey thanks for the great recipe. I'm using whey protein currently, so this will make it a bit less boring. As vixen said 4-6 small to average size meals a day definately helps speed the metabolism. Was struggling until I did this. Thanks again Vixen, and I have to agree with everyone else, you really are hot! :-D

  • great stuff....

i know that you know it, but ya your hot :)

  • so hot and sexy

  • now that looks good!

  • I see the glass as 3/4 full actually

  • Me too! That makes you an optimist ;-)

  • cant concentrate on what she is saying. she is wearing a wrist band.

  • you're hot!

  • omg give me your number?

  • What a beautiful woman. She is the poster child for the benefits of eating right and working out.

  • Frozen!! great idea! =)

  • It´s easy to take after working out, and you will see results.

But it´s very expensive, well it is where i live (Sweden).

It´s a big money issue, well if you are a student or not working.

  • freeze it, good idea!!

  • reallly great video really solved my issues when to take it and what to add

  • wow 1. smart

    2. gorjuz :D

check my videos see if you like ....

  • a smart, beautiful girl, thanks for the advices! :)

  • You are very welcome. Thank you for the lovely compliments :)

  • it is very tasty and gives the boost i need. thank you

  • I'm so happy you like it. I also make a version with all the same ingredients, minus the mint. Add a banana & 1-2 Tbsp chopped walnuts for some good Omega-3 fats. I add the walnuts after blending the other ingrediens because I like the crunchy texture it offers

  • Wow!!Thanks for this fantastic and informative video!!So many excellent ingredients I would have never thought of!cant wait to make some! Thanks!Im going to watch your others now!!

  • really helpful video, thanks! 5*

  • Fantastic presentation and some very good and clever recipes. GREAT

  • Thank you for viewing & appreciating my work!

Great job on your physique! I competed in body building 20 years ago. It's tough but fun & rewarding as well. Best of luck to you.

  • I go to the gym and im skinny I wonder if the protein powder they sell at stores really works?

  • If you are trying to gain weight than any extra calories will help. The key is to find things that you enjoy as a source of additional calories. Since you workout, you may need more protein and protein powders offer a convenient option over other animal protein sources that need to be "prepared".

    Good Luck!

  • yea it does...mix it with milk instead of water it will take you farther.

  • Can you please write out all the ingridients so i can get them, very good video by the way, you look great. Also, can i add something that will accelerate fat burn?

  • Go to my main page under "KitchenScienceVixen" & click on the website under my bio. You will be directed to my blog where I have written about each recipe. There you will find all the ingredients & nutritional analysis for each recipe. As for fat burning love, here's my advice: Eat 4-6 small meals per day, lots of green vegetables, good fats, limited processed foods & daily cardio, strength training 4-6 days per week, stretching daily, lots of water. Thanks for watching & subscribing.

  • how many times a day should you dink a shake?

  • It depends on how many meals you are willing to consume each day and whether or not you want to use a protein shake as a meal replacement. It is best to eat 4-6 times per day Since I don't consume animal protein (chicken, beef, etc.) on a regular basis, I often use protein shakes to meet my protein needs. But even a good thing gets old. So my intake varies between 1-3 times per day. I need about 80g protein & 3 shakes would do it for me So would 3 (4oz) servings of "meat". Hope that helps

  • Thank You helps a ton

  • You are so welcome!

  • I would never make that shit...

BUT your sexy and it works for you so keep doin it !

  • But I bet you eat vegamite, mate ;-) I've never had it but I hear it is an acquired taste. Thank you for a partial compliment ;-)

  • just curious what is that brown powder you added in the blender before the protein powder?

  • Organic Non-dutched "non-alkalized" cocoa

  • Good video. Never thought about the mollasses, I'll have to try it. You should have mentioned that the Cocoa is also known for boosting nitric oxide levels, thus helping out your muscles. How much protein is too much? Would you advocate adding a couple grams of creatine?

  • I never knew protein shakes could turn me on. Can you be my personal trainer?

  • this chick is HELLA fine

  • I agree

  • is protein good for a person that is overweight. i heard that if u consume protein and do not work out or exercise than it will or can become fat is that true?

  • No, it shud be taken as part of a diet. It is perfectly plausable for an over weight person to take protein. Work it in with meals and you can lose weight very easily.

  • thanks for the video, very useful information!

  • You sure put a lot of stuff in your shakes. the cinnamon is good for increasing insulin sensitivity but I guess the molasses is good for minerals, I'm not sure. And dudes, she even went through the trouble of calculating the nutrition information ... but you wouldnt know that because you weren't paying attention anyways.

  • shes trying to help you and you have to make stupid comments like that, people.

  • What? I only see two things
