The moral of the story is, weed or hash or whatever your using to get your kicks will eventualy get the better of you . i know this from my own personal situation . smoking is not bad if you do it socialy but when you start depending on it thats when it becomes a problem . Nick drake had his own personal battle with it and this was his way of telling everyone smoking isnt all its cracked up to be theres negatives aswell as positives
@minkaworks This was written by Robin Fredrick, a prolific song writer and music producer. Nick and Robin were friendly and Nick has deftly changed some her original lyrics to reflect his own personality.
not meaning to bitch but at the end the lyrics are "everything going wrong with me" for the second to last linbe and im pretty sure he says " i have opium ion my chillum" not chimnet bhut big thanks for the vid LOVE this song, and keep em posted :D
@majapa thanks for the info but saying'hahaha' just makes you look like a cock-muncher, all u had to say to was that wrong mate. but no as with all people on here you seem to have to take the small bit of knowledge that you have and try to express it in a way that makes you sound clever but thanks for letting me know even if you didnt do it very nicely
Perhaps that's the way it should be, it helps to preserve the intimacy of his legacy. Only those who go looking for it, find it and their experience with and love for the music is much more heartfelt and intense than it would be if Nick Drake were on the radio 24/7. This isn't music for the masses anyway.

Thanks for this! Yes it took some searching to find it on youtube. I never heard him sound like this before. Maybe this is his more natural voice. :)

@MadProgresser Hahaha, you're just projecting. He definitely says chimney. Chimney = colloquial phrase for "head" - so he's got opium in his head.
