true to that i had a zx2 sport with a couple mods and a 75 shot nitrous kit my motor ran i gave it hell everyday all day that motor put out extremely tuff motor thanks mazda!!!/ford

As a way of forcing the oil to break up...hopefully ruin whatever was left of the piston rings etc. Just to break the motor. We also added paint thinner, rocks, and various foliage.

I had a 98 ZX2 with a 5speed that I leased. The car ran flawlessly with no major problems ever. It was a sad day when I had to turn it in. Truly one of the best cars I owned.

Those engines are so cheap, it's cheaper to buy a new one than it is to fix the old one. Strong dependable motor, but poor quality.

zx2 are realy good ive got one and i loved it untill i really blew th engine im going to swap it with a junkyard 3 month guaranteed engine but yeah they ate kinda noisy at idle but stil i dont care

They redline between 6900 or 7200 rpm's. 8k is where the rpm gauge stops. I have SCT and can change the rev limit to wherever I want. With my bolt ons I was able to let the engine rev to as high as it can. Mr. Iownazx2. I've done 10 transmission swaps and 6 engine swaps and now have built a 8500 revving NA motor that once tuned will make 170ish whp and run low 14's.

first off, they dont rev at no 9 grand..and second those engines are junk, not only cuz there made by ford, but there just noisy junk..my cousin has one, and sounds like a fuckin diesel engine..and there is no way they rev near 9, i believe they red line at 7, and dead end at 8

Since you are so wise on the workings of this engine, I removed the rev limiter completely through SCT and the car has full bolt on's in this vid. It did rev well beyond 8, if I had a cam in the car I could have showed that but the harmonics are well beyond 7/8. In the first vid. If your only experience on these engines is the noise then you are retarded.
