It's like one trick leads to another. So you have to unlock levels of trackstanding. It's one of those irritating games where you have to start back from the beginning if you mess up.
This is really impressive. How long did it take to master those stands? I'm still learning past basic track stand. Any tips besides practicing over and over?
@1clydefrog For starters, run the shortest stem you can find and work on keeping your legs as straight as possible. Bend at the waist more than at the knees.
@MiddLeSkoolChrisT1n Really it's whatever you're most comfortable with, though if you're doing variations, it's better to have your front foot on the non-drive side so that the chainring doesn't get in the way.
@graffitiwar4 actually, if your primary stance is right foot forward, it's always called "goofy" regardless of whether you're right or left handed. The same is true in surfing and skateboarding. Left foot forward is "regular", right foot forward is "goofy". And just for the record, if you put the opposite foot forward from what you normally do, then you're in a "switch" stance.
don't want to play a game of foot down with this guy there would be no winning, major props!!! i just finished building my fixed gear today time to practice.
i realize a lot of you will probably hate me but i gotta say that trackstand trick are very unentertaining. i realize and appreciate the level of difficulty it takes to perform them but nevertheless, painfully boring to watch.
Trackstand tricks have to be the most boring things to watch without variation from trackstanding tricks, but I can't even begin to imagine how had it is to do, I really want a fixed gear, right now i have an old single speed, that i use for commute, so im not gonna make it a fixie.
amazing trackstand, would love to see someone doing this at a long ass red light. i found learning to ride backwards helped immensely with my trackstands
im not sure if i shoudl get a fixed gear or a single speed, because i liek the idea of the pedals continuosly going around , but like if i was to take a bend to sharp then the pedal would hit the group and then throw me off the bike, which obv doesnt sound so good (N) so shall i get a single speed or a fixed gear ? can someone get back to me on this please ? thank you
ya man i had the same problem, get a flipflop hub (look it up) it has a fixed sprocket or whatever on one side and a single on the other,so you can practice running fixed safely and then run single for distance untill your ready to switch to fixed
Dude... I haven't laughed this hard in a while. What would the inventor of the bicycle think? "There must have been a plague, and nobody who knew how to use it survived."
lol i love how you put too much time on his hands, a very nice way of saying it.
I have this much time on my hands, and i can do alot of these tricks, just not fluid and after like 7 trys. this guy does a 5 minute video without messing up.
its a track bike (or fixed gear). the rear hub has no freewheel (the thing that makes most bikes coast) so the act of pedaling backwards works as a brake. all kinds of fun.
I wouldn't really call it pedaling backwards as much as I would call it locking up your legs to resist the forward momentum of the rear wheel...
complete agreement with it being fun...started myself about 10 years ago with the intention of refining my pedalstroke and becoming a better cyclist & faster messenger...the switch over changed my life & I haven't looked back since...
dope....
