some one mentioned he didnt get far well he is the musical director and guitarist with Tina Turner these days saw him live in the 70's and he was awsome
First gig I went to was John Miles in 1976 - incredible. Pull The Damn Thing Down blew my head off. Saw him another three times over the years and he never disapointed, actually got to meet him backstage in 1978, a true gentlemen.
@fab208athome - I got to see him sometime around 1985 I would guess. I also did the backstage thing, and still have his autograph on the ticket stub (no programme). Like you said, true gent, and a great show. I remember Highfly being fantastic!
Unique voice. See him do brilliant live concerts on youtube. Music, La Sagrada Famillia, and other Alan Parsons Project compositions such as, STEREOTOME, THE REAL WORLD, the man is great. If anyone knows if he is to do any gigs in or around the London area please respond I would love to see the man live. What a showman.
I have all his albums on vinyl. His first album is the first album I ever bought. Saw him twice at the "Coatham Bowl" Redcar and once in Bournemouth. Excellent! Am searching youtube for even more ... rock on John!
recall when he first had a few hits in late 1975, early 1976 he was in the music press photos as a clean cut short haired James Dean-a-like. When this was a hit in mid 1977 he had transformed into a Viv Stanshall-a-like, from the Canyons of your mind 1968 era, as seen here. I think this was maybe originally the b side to Manhattan Skyline, which flopped. I got Slow Down in 1977, and Manhattan was on the b side. Oops there goes my punk rock credibility! Arf!
First gig i ever went to was John Miles at Bradford St Georges Hall in 1978 i think on the Zaragon tour. No-one has ever come close to that band. So tight.
John hit #34 in Billboard, 6-11-77. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

Are you talking about the 'talkbox'

They were mostly songs from Zaragon - his
best album, never equaled. (I don't know
why people liked "Music", which I found very
mundane and not hit material at all.)
His best, in my opinion :
Overture
I Have Never Been In Love Before
No Hard Feelings
Borderline

I'd really like to see someone post videos of
his live performances, circa 1979 or 1980, in
the UK , I believe.
I heard it over here in Malaysia at that time
on FM. They had a station called "Club 95Mhz"
during those two or three years, in which they
played superb live performaces of all the great
artists - Journey, Wishbone Ash, Budgie, Supertramp.
That was when I first heard of John Miles.

Ironic that a song this fast is called "Slow Down", but this was a big hit in discos. He later recorded with Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page.

John doing his Peter Frampton sound! Not many people know that John has other tunes apart from "Music", which is overplayed on the radio.
