She's beautiful! My grandfather taught me how to build model ships years ago, I have a model of the Charles W. Morgan, he drew up plans for and built it from scratch 20 years ago, it's my prized possession! I've been a collector and builder ever since!
I hope you add more detail to that deck, make it look grungy and dirty like a real sailing vessel!
Thanks- yes, this is scratch built. The bulkheads were roughed out on a scroll saw, then refined using a Dremel with a sanding drum. Balsa was used between the bulkheads to aid shaping, then the upper hull was planked with narrow strips of basswood. Wider pieces were used below the waterline, where the copper sheathing would eventually cover everything. My other vid shows pics from the process.
