The self indulgence is the persistence, at the expense of the tune, his band mates and the audience, for what seems like forever. As to whether he is good or not, I suppose it is a matter of taste and we must agree to differ. Whether this is a surf tune or note can not, surely, be a matter for debate. Surf music is Guitars, Reverb and Melody, none of which this chaps' frantic thumping demonstrate. Buy it, if you must, but I never would. Do you, in fact, like it enough to have bought it?

Dusty is one of the best drummers out there. This is just a sample of the guys chops. Hey Hermann, it's a drum solo! during a surf tune. it's crazy to say a solo is self indulgent. IT'S A SOLO IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE. get it?!
