@hipretty I haven't actually seen much of a difference to be honest. I will say that after having done this so many times my hair already has a lot of good color laid down so I can't really tell the difference.
hi! your the first video i've seen that looks like you are henna-ing on relaxed hair. i also have relaxed/color- treated hair and im considering using henna for my hair. I would like to condition it using cassia. do you know of any henna products that are just for gloss/conditioning?
@jasmineadeshina My hair was relaxed then it's natural now. If you want to use something for gloss and conditioning use plain cassia obvata. It leaves no color but a really nice sheen on the hair.
I just used henna on my hair ... wow, looks beautiful and is so soft. I conditioned it with an egg, which i left on for about 15 minutes afterwards. p.s. I avoid shampoos and face/body wash that contains SODIUM LAUREL SULFATE - it is used to create lots of suds, but it's also carcinogenic. You can find good products that do not contain it at health food stores ... but look at the ingredients, 'cause they have some of those on the shelf too.
@MonikaLeeDidi Didn't the American Cancer Society say that SLS is not a known carcinogen? SLS and associated chemicals can be skin irritants in some people like any other substance. I would take that adage with a grain of salt honestly.
This is a really good tutorial. I've heard that adding eggs and yoghurt are very beneficial too. There's also an Indian herb called maybe Ritha (pronounced rEET-Ha) that also enhances the colour.
@evanaut I personally wouldn't add eggs as that's too much protein for my hair but I imagine if you need a serious protein treatment it would be wonderful I'm going to have a look at Ritha I am a junkie for the color.
@mschocolatte06 I think if your hair is lighter to begin with the red shows up way more. My hair was black naturally to begin with so the coloring process has been gradual. You can add lemon juice, I've heard that red wine can help boost the color as well.
@weebeasty Thanks a bunch. I was looking for more of a wine color myself but alot of women have told me they've done it gradually for a more visible color. I'll have to try that out when I get the guts, lol :)
@gotfreckles You can if you don't let the dye release but I've never done a mix without a dye release. If you want the shine and strength try using cassia instead that has no color to it.
@littleshoeshopper I actually do mine the same day however, it really depends on how your hair reacts to proteins. To be on the safe side I would recommend waiting a week or two after you relax in case you experience any dryness.
@emacwakeup Thanks :D These days in the sun my hair is a very deep brownish red. I have a few white and gray hairs that sparkle bright red in the sun. When I did this video I concentrated more on the hair health benefits so I didn't get as much of a color release.
I think it's one of the free Nine Inch Nails tracks you can use when you upload a video. I want to say it's one of the Ghosts tracks but I might be mistaken :)
I would recommend waiting at least a couple of weeks. And if you are going to henna make absolute certain you test it out on some harvested hair before applying to your whole head. If you do henna come back and show me I'd love to see it!
thank you!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to try henna in my hair, I plan to use Cassia Obovata. I also wasn't sure how to make it work in my regimen because I also want to use Diva smooth in my hair once a month or so.. Now you cleared this up!!!
one question for people who use henna and to the person who created this bid... i was wondering if light brown henna will work to make my dark brown hair light brown? .. anyone know?..answers much appriciated
Henna won't lighten your hair. If you want to lighten your hair naturally try using lemon juice or doing some searching on natural lightening methods.
Omg I love this!! Thanks so much my friend was looking all over for a good tutorial :) btw can you pleaaseee tell me what song this is or PM me the link? Please and thank you!
I'm not sure. The texture (henna is kind of gritty) might cause it to get stuck in locs or take a really long time to rinse out. You might be able to do it with henna that's been processed in some way to make it finer. Or maybe infused into something else but I'm not sure.
I will put mine in the cupboard next to the oven, or on top of the fridge. You don't want to let your mix get too cold. I have some cold spots in my apartment so I keep it where the heat is on.
the music freaked me out.

I heard hot water in henna can make the color fade faster...
ubergirliz1 1 year ago 2
@ubergirliz1 That's possible but I've never had that problem. It may have to do with what henna you're using I'm not sure.

is this something that you can do soon after relaxing. Thanks.

Henna only ads colour to hair, if you want to lighten it, I think you have to use bleach.
