I discovered Charice on the same video that Ellen is showing in 2008. I still get goosebumps from Charice even now. Goosebumps never left me ,everytime I see Charice perform even on tiny YouTube videos . I have yet to see Charice perform live - I will probably get a heart attack LOL. If she won, she would have surely been tied down by ABS-CBN, and not have the flexibility to choose where to perform. And, Star Records/ABS-CBN would have a cut in every dollar she'd make.

Some production staff of ABS-CBN have favoritism, that's the right word. These people involved themselves in manipulating the result of the contest. I knew Charice should have won the Little Big Star over Sam Concepcion. Same feat that happened to Sheryn Regis (People's Choice) of the Star in a Million 1st batch who just ended a runner-up to Eric Santos. Girl's voice are more "birit" than boys. They shouldn't look at the outside attributes of the contestant. It's the voice that counts.

Erobsac was right, Cha never had any exposure after her stint at that contest, only to be recognised later as a potential money making cow for ABS when they "realized" her talent as valuable for their bottom line. No fault for erobsac to think in that manner, its true anyway. Note cow is just an idiomatic exprsion.

I discovered Charice on the same video that Ellen is showing in 2008. I still get goosebumps from Charice even now. Goosebumps never left me ,everytime I see Charice perform even on tiny YouTube videos . I have yet to see Charice perform live - I will probably get a heart attack LOL. FYI charice did not putting down by abs-cbn..in fact when charice has lost the battle at first...abs-cbn was give her a second chance to fight again at the contest...she has been called back by abs-cbn to fight again for the championship, but still,she lost the battle again because nobody's vote her to win...so it's not abs-cbn fault anymore.

star king, ellen gave her exposure but it was oprah who gave her the break. ellen may consider Charice the best guest performer on her show but may not realized she come this far, otherwise she may have done what Oprah did. Charice was lucky because Oprah was smitten with her talent the first time she performed at Oprah. The rest is history.

Charice's loss in the finals is a blessing in disguise.
If she won, she would have surely been tied down by ABS-CBN, and not have the flexibility to choose where to perform. And, Star Records/ABS-CBN would have a cut in every dollar she'd make.
That loss was meant to be, and everything has turned out exceptionally well.

Some production staff of ABS-CBN have favoritism, that's the right word. These people involved themselves in manipulating the result of the contest. I knew Charice should have won the Little Big Star over Sam Concepcion. Same feat that happened to Sheryn Regis (People's Choice) of the Star in a Million 1st batch who just ended a runner-up to Eric Santos. Girl's voice are more "birit" than boys. They shouldn't look at the outside attributes of the contestant. It's the voice that counts.

I hope the talented folks at Comedy Central puts this person on South Park (since she has a big head) as a regular and make her as Kennys girlfriend then they should transfer Kennys jinx to her so she can die on each episode.

toni: in a manner of speaking you're right to let criticisms vs ABS as a let go. But we have to see deeper why they are now all over Charice in having her as guest in their TV shows. Erobsac was right, Cha never had any exposure after her stint at that contest, only to be recognised later as a potential money making cow for ABS when they "realized" her talent as valuable for their bottom line. No fault for erobsac to think in that manner, its true anyway. Note cow is just an idiomatic exprsion.

Agree ako sa iyo na we should let criticisms vs ABS as a let go. Also, we must understand na hindi nga sya masyadong nagkaroon ng exposure sa tv kasi nga hindi naman sya ang champion or 2nd place. Kung ikaw man ang nasa katayuan ng ABS, lalo na nanalo si Sam thru text votes, it follows na at that time, mas maraming may gusto kay SAM. Let's be objective, business is business, broadcasting is a business, hindi sya social service. Kahit Channel 7, ganyan din ang gagawin.

True, Sam won through text votes so its natural that the full ABS PR machine is behind him. But both stations have their talent centers right? ABS if they believed in what she can do should have groomed Charice as their potential talent artist. She has the pipes but apparently talents here are only noticed if you have the voice + "face". Sam has both but where is he now? Doldrums!
