I have my friend to thank a whole bunch for introducing me to this kind of music, Mana's music in particular. She dresses kind of in Lolita gothic sometimes and her outfits are really pretty.
I like the music, and I looove their style. I could try and wear it but probably wouldn't pull it off...it's nice just looking at all their different outfits.

why do people think they know it all saying its normal to dress like MM do in this video in japan, have any of the people here even been to japan.
its not normal in japan its not their culture at all. but thats why it makes MM amazing and the other visual kei bands amazing. they stand out and arent afraid to look like they do same as the bands from the west that arent aftraid to stand out. wer all part of a big family. i mean do people think all the guys walk around japan in skirts?

I find it funny that just because we like in the US and see a guy that dresses differently it automatically makes them gay. I mean people don't even stop and think about the different cultures around the world there are. Just because you have one culture, doesn't make it the universal one. I personally think that the most people from the US are in a bubble and are ignorant to all the cultures around the world.

@visini14 Sometimes it makes me feel ashamed to be American -.- people here are so full of their culture that they automatically label other cultures as inferior and don't even bother learning from them. And it's sad because the few people that enjoy other cultures outside the U.S. typically end up moving away, so we're stuck with more of the die-hard Americans. It's a vicious cycle. -.-

Gotta love the old U.S.A Im Native American you see so my Shame is a proundly painful one. It hurts to see your land turned into one big ugly shopping mall from coast to coast . It is why I suppose I turn to the cultures of other Nations such as France ,Italy And Japan for inspiration. We simply have no culture of our own Here.

@xxzerawriotxx Who would threaten someone's opinion on a video BY a Japanese band?! -.- I swear, people sometimes!! And the fate of the Native Americans was a tragic one; I felt bad just knowing my ancestors were just as ignorant and unwilling to learn from new cultures as people today! >.< I agree though, perhaps it's because the U.S. is a newer country and hasn't been through as much as Europe and Asia I'm not sure, but there's just nothing as fascinating here (to me anyways). :P

@visini14 Its not just the US. Its all western countries. Im a male, and I would have a blast of a time wearing a gothic dress (I plan to start a collection in the near future, perhaps design a few;) and though I'm gay people will think "Oh because he's gay he'll wear a dress." All I can say, is if they had actually watched some gay holiday hotspot shows or whatever, they will see many more "Butch" gays.

@shinatama81 I am bisexual, and I completely agree with you. I have a friend who is not gay/bisexual and wears gothic dresses quite often. It is funny because they only say that about men, but when women wear men's undergarments and put on fake mustaches it is "hot". When a man does something as simple as wear heels on his boots/shoes it automatically makes him gay.

The history keeps repeating itself. It's pretty much the same thing when women wearing pants was taboo in the 20th century.
people'll get over it some day and who knows, maybe men wearing skirts will become very normal.

@CrippledPotato I desperately wish it would because frankly I hate pants. HATE THEM. Our genitals hang off the front of our bodies ,trapped in confineing sweaty denim jeans all the time all summer in 99 degree heat. our only option is shorts and even then its awful. Im so sick of living my life wearing a garment that was created in the 9th century. why the hell did men ever trade soft comfortable robes ,tunics and skirts for garments that damage and suffocate the genitals ? burn your pants men!
