The penny press, as bkwilsey said, uses copper blanks. Not the actual penny you put into them, that just makes the illusion of the roller actually using the penny you put into it... I guess the illusion works... I thought only kids thought it was the penny.

When you want to but dollars' worth of pennies at the bank they sell that stacked together and wrapped up in paper like that. :-) I added that because I used to collect such rolls as a child and just loved feeling their weight in my hands.

@wikidlover you can alternatively use a hack saw. When it comes time to twist the coins just find a solid solt on the ground or the wall to hold one of the coins and use the tool to twist the other one. Hope that helps!
