  • Whenever I listen to this song I imagine the music video to be done in the style of a Twilight Zone episode.

  • We actually had to analyze this song for my Music Appreciation class last year.

  • I WAS THE PERSON WHO DISLIKED THIS VIDEO MUAHAHAHAHA

  • The singer's words: "The song is about your friends getting eaten by a fuckin' lake"

  • This song is pretty much a creepypasta in song form. God this is such a beautiful album. Ludo is so brilliant. Why must scene kids taint it by claiming they're fans?

  • I used to live next to Lake Ponchartrain before Katrina hit and it's weird hearing all of the slang and places that are all there.

  • The song is at first, just a horror story told in first person. Note: Darius and Nolan ate crawfish, but the narrator ate chicken. Later on they were beckoned to the lake by a radio show. Later on, a madman approached their car and did the same. They freaked out and burned rubber, then got lost, until arriving at the lake. It was here that the ghosts of craw fish got their revenge on those who eat them. The singer was allowed to live. But this makes him look guilty/crazy when questioned

  • *With tears in eyes* Any more questions? Just go and ask LAKE PONCHARTRAIN! *Hangs head down* That would be nice for the end in a video, wouldnt it? Too bad Ludo Didn't make a vid for this.

  • Ever been ot lake pontchartrain? I swear that lake is posessed man... Slidell is a creepy town.

  • Isn't lake pontchatrain haunted? I could've sworn I heard that somewhere...

  • LOVE THIS SONG <3 IT

  • Brain washing crawfish...all i have to say

  • They sound like ETF.

  • @TMinix72 You sound like you need a knife in your throat.

  • @FromTheEyeOfApethy It's possible. You can't deny that they sound like ETF. That's not a bad thing. Also, it's spelled "apathy."

  • This band never ceases to amaze me with their delightfully freaky songs. :3

  • song sends shivers down my spine :3

  • Come down to Lake Ponchartrain, rest your soul and feed your brain! <3 This song is awesome! Guess where I live! Slidell, Louisiana, just north east of Lake Ponchartrain~! Personally, I think this song has a big connection to Hurricane Katrina. Last stanza sounds like like a hurricane; waves danced in time, water it climbed, lost his friends in the rain? I dunno It could just be me who makes this connection, but thats what it means to me! [=

  • @Netsirk132 I WHOLLY AGREE! I'm from Mandeville! >:D Everytime I hear this song, I think of the hurricanes. x'3 Especially Katrina.

  • strictly chicken for Andrew.

  • My friend lent me this CD it was amazing. ;-D

  • I honestly can't say why I love this song but so far its still my favorite

  • Ludo is the Best band out there besides lovehatehero!!!!!!

  • so... crawfish had their revenge on the two guys that ate crawfish..

but i'm still waiting for a part 2 to this song in which Andrew gets eaten by a bunch of chickens

  • @THExSMITHS XD that would suck. being eaten by chicken

  • awsome song i love it

  • Stay away from the crawfish, just a friendly advice :D

  • man! i love the way ludo plays stuff out! missouri... misery! ahaha! genius!

  • i love this song. and the album is one of my favorites. every song on it is great

  • I believe the story was meant to portray a Police Questioning about the disappearance of the two other boys, the play on Missouri as Misery another indication. He's got nothing to hide, considering how big the Lake is, they will never find the bodies in that type of swell current. It was rainy and dark, so it could be concealed, most likely the Crawfish were poisoned as well. Rest your soul and feed your brain..Rest your soul means of course to die, and feed your brain means complete delirium.

  • @EndingEscence Somebody has been hitting wikipedia with a vengeance

  • @XxXM3talH3adXxX haha lol probably

  • @EndingEscence I was going to post the difference between missouri an misery but you did it for me.

  • @EndingEscence I think you might be over analyzing it. Though, I could totally see and agree with your theory it just seems to over thought.

  • Tryin to get up out of Missouri kinda sounds like misery :) Also am I the only one who thought this sounded like a modern Lovecraftian story turned into a song?

  • @souulkeeper1384 so true. I just bought a Lovecraft anthology a week or two ago, and this is exactly what most every story I've read so far is like :P

  • I think "Crawfish til the bitter end" is a play on words and that they were turned into crawfish by the lake-- At least according to the very unreliable narrator.

  • if you listen it says noland and darious had crawfish to eat but the singer didnt so that might be why they were "called"into the lake

  • That's exactly when all the trouble started.

  • maybe, its like a freaky backwoods tale. they ate the crawfish and got lured back into the lake where the lake ate them. why? beats me. love the song though

  • i love this sonngg(:it makes me smile. haha. wow. some seriously interesting outlooks on this song. haha. i like "hum along" alot by ludo. they are good. (: kudo to ludo! i cant say kudos cuz. erhg it doesntt rhyme.

  • I believe when he said Craw fish till the bitter end he meant that you would have it until you died. I also believe that the Singer killed them,as he is being questioned also at the beginning it said "I'll tell it like it happened it was Darius Owen and me." Which Sounds like he was being questioned.

  • What do you think happened to Nolan and Darius?

  • they turned into crawfish? lol

  • I like that idea^^ Some think the crawfish ate them, while others just think the lake swallowed them. But if either or those were true, I ponder why the line is "Crawfish til the bitter end." But thanks, I'm not the only one who thinks so^^

  • I think they became guys like the one that was attacking their car

  • Totally! I like that idea...

  • I'm pretty sure the narrator killed them. XD It sounds near the end like he's being questioned about their disappearances (hence, "that's how it happened, why would I lie?"), and he made up this elaborately bizarre story about how it happened. And I think the line about Crawfish was because that's what those two ate at the diner, whereas the narrator wasn't eventually lured to the lake because he had "strictly chicken".

It's a brilliant and funny song, I love it.

  • I live right by lake ponchatrain. My friend freaked out when she first heard this and didn't want to go near the lake. XD

  • where is lake ponchartrain?

  • New Orleans

  • Haha, that's hilarious!! :D

  • love it
