@MrMillerboy6 it makes more sense if you watch DBZ instead of playing the game. In the show DBZ Vegeta was training in space, when suddenly a lot of meteors' were flying towards Vegeta's ship, so Vegeta was trying to protect his ship. Until a huge meteor appears and Vegeta cannot stop the meteor. He is hit to the ground. There he says that he doesn't care about becoming the strongest, or about living. So he let go, and finally transformed because his power was needed to destroy the meteor.
