I bought this even though I had enough money to buy a MacBook Pro 13'. I still haven't regretted buying the MacBook at all. It's a very sexy, good looking, bright, computer and everything about it has been perfectly fine for me. To be honest it is not worth buying a MBP imo because of how fast technology progresses.. At this age laptops become outdated/out spec in less than 3-4 yrs for typical users, and 1-2 yrs for gamers.

I got it and im using it now. it is very nice and fast. yes it is a finger print and scratch magnet ( or beyond) but is a very good laptop for back to school of prople wanting to learn the mac operating system on the go. 8 hour battery life is nice but when you are playing a game it is more like 2 hours. over all its a good laptop and i recomend it to any basic use user.

im using one now. Seriously, they are great, since it is white, you may have to clean it, but the only part that needs regular cleaning is the frame around the screen. Awesome computer, if you need a cheaper mac, get one! only bad thing is it has no infrared (meaning you can use an apple mouse) but thats cool with me, hope i helped make your decision to buy one a little easier.

@newyorkerboy1 the infared on a mac is used to connect an apple remote to it. Thats basically it. Its not really worth the remote because it only works in frontrow (media player), but if you do get one, I advise you that it does not work with the 2009 or 2010, white unibody macbook.

@albertowii You just proved the point why so many windows users hate mac users. Both windows + macs are good for video and photo editing. Real professionals do not use iMovie to make their movies. Furthermore if the motherboard is fried on the PC or Mac the computer will simply will not work not "it still runs good but in pcs caput". Macs are more expensive is because their customers are willing to pay a premium price for a premium laptop.

To replace a battery is like $129, I don't think applecare covers it. There is no firewire in the macbook, Apple thinks that consumers won't use firewire, which makes sense.

It's pretty much the 13 inch MacBook Pro in white, just cheaper, it's almost like saying the black version of THIS new MacBook would be the MacBook Pro, but instead of all black it's grey too.... like the old penryn black macbook was more expensive...

It is actually a lot different than the mbp. For starters, it has the same processor and ram as the mbp, but it has a 250gb hard drive while the mbp has 160gb. Also it is more rounded than the mbp. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge glass either. Finally, it has the rubberized bottom whereas the mbp has "feet". Don't forget the $200 price difference. I think the main places they cut back on are ports and the lack of an I.R. sensor, plus the cheap plastic.

My sister just got the unibody plastic and it's already got scratches all over the palm rest. Just FYI, stay away from them. The idea is cool, but the palmrest is WAY prone to scratching, especially if you wear bracelets or watches.
