One of the most brilliant races in mankind! Shows the tremendous skill and smoothness of Sir Jackie Stewart, and imagine, in those days with all that danger and unpredictable cars! Even today, a racer like myself who for the moment drives Radical Series and been in Formula car racing, would not come near to that achievement... And i do have the safety, better car! He did put up such a fearless drive!! Hats off to him, and the also runners of 68!
I was there in 68, camped for three days unprepared for rain. I was hitching through Europe and attended this race and Monaco. Climbing the fence after wrapping a cardboard cigarette case around my arm to hopefully distract the police from noticing, I stood 5 feet from the track and stood up every time a car roared past.
Great footage, dreadful commentator!

Great race, but IMHO Fangio's victory in 57 was the best of all times.

Stewart's greatest race. And one of the greatest drives of all time.
