  • Sad how Jaco died

  • Steve & Jaco were at University of Miami together, along with Metheny.

  • THAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANK YOU FOR THE POST, AMAZING

  • like Jaco ever played 12 bar....

  • @Rikk303 Many a time fool, many a time.

  • @MUYA123SLAYER Whatever you say.....you hope to give the impression you think you know what you might be thinking, possibly

  • @Rikk303 Theres a few recordings of Jaco playing 12 bar with various musicians

  • @MUYA123SLAYER Roger Carey is a home grown talent...brilliant...check him out....so much talent everywhere...I daren't even play anymore!

  • @MUYA123SLAYER Pastorius and Hedges might have been a good combo..after the twelfth bar

  • Jaco sure could move that shit down the line.

  • I was at this show. Truth is It was supposed to be in the parking lot of "Musicians Exchange" in Ft Lauderdale but was moved to "City Limits" because of the rain. I drove Jaco over to see the show and as was his habit he jumped up and sat in with guys. Jaco would do that a lot back in those days. Unfortunately he wasn't always welcomed but not on this night. Wish I could find my tape of the night he jumped up with Rick Danko and Richard Manuel at "Summers On the Beach"

  • @Wharfomatic - I can't find the etree link anymore - did they remove it?

  • @Wharfomatic I was there too!

  • Oh my god, I was at this show!!! I can't even believe this, I have told so many people over the years that I saw Jaco play with the Dregs in Ft. Lauderdale. It's been a long time but I remember the look on Steve Morse's face when Jaco started playing. He looked over at Andy West as if to say "can you believe this?" I also seem to remember the club's name was not City Limits, but rather Club Dallas I think? I could be wrong though. Randy Bernsen opened for the Dregs. Jaco did not end the show!

  • @eggie62 It was actually City Limits. I sat in front of the stage on the dance floor. Growing up in south Florida I got the chance to see Jaco jump on stage and "sit in" with whoever was on stage, usually much to their chagrin.Unfortunately Jaco was not always on top of his game like he was at this show. Still a huge bummer he split when he did.I'm sure he had a lot more to say with his music. Thanks for posting!

  • @gameraxxx I was at a Stanley Clarke show at Sunrise Theater club/bar(inside back of hall) in 1985(?) I noticed this strange looking cat(shaved/crewcut hair) in the artist's restroom. At the end of the show Jaco comes bounding up on stage to play, "School Days," "Birdland" and a short jam. The house was going nuts!! Stanley was getting off on it and had the biggest shit eatin' grin on his face! Stanley later said in an interview that it was the ONLY time he ever played with Jaco. I was lucky...

  • @robertdeltajohnson I was there too!

  • Respond to this video... I was there too. Steve's teacher from U of M was there to play a song too. I have a pic of him & the Dregs from this show. I ran out of film before getting Jaco pics, unfortunately. It was a complete surprise to me, Jaco hopping onstage. I also saw Jaco hop on up with Stanley Clarke @ the Che Donjo lounge in Sunrise Musical Theater.

  • @eggie62 you're right..sort of... Club Dallas used to be City Limits before the name change it was across the street from the Chinese restaurant between the port and the airport.
