  • mayday, mmayday, mayday,

  • hmmmm.... i wonder how hangliding started?... oh yeah, they went out and got instructions for hangliding then bought a state of the art hangglider! Let them experiment and have fun without you rich, spend 5000 dollars on a hanglider fucks criticizing them!

  • I would too realy like to make a hanglider, maybe this summer. I think your CG isn't correct. I think you need more back weight.

  • This what the glider would say,....Glider, "thanks for the lift, that was fun can we do that again," lmao

  • hahahahaaaaa.......!!!omg guy is running still can't fly.....fucking funny!!!

  • even if it did start to fly he yould go right into the woods

  • ...looks like that hill has some potential for professional hang gliding training...

you'll get far more repeated enjoyment, far more safely, with a certified

    production glider & professional instruction.

  • Great vid ! Even thought i'm sure you dint get to fly as much as you'd like. i like the creativity of yiu ! now i have an idea on sumthing i want to make for the summer ! though mom would probably kill me dead before she let me test it out ! LOL

  • good effort .but dont let the back of it flap .just but some light strong plastic at the allong the end of it

  • it looked like a mental man running down the hill with a big white sheet

  • dont humour them.

keep it on the ground boys.

  • Nice. Might work, try a bit tighter fit of sail, and a bit of reflex in keel tube. (upward bend towards aft end to help with stall-recovery in event of stall if u get it flying) keep nose level when running down hill, bring to level to lift when u get speed, pull in a bit to get more speed when u lift off. keep speed up in flight, when landing, push out on bar to bring nose up when u are very near touchdown to slow your landing speed.

  • make the plastic mateiral tighter cuase ur losing too much traction

  • looks like a madman with a plastic sheet running down a hill

  • hahahahh nice.keep it up

  • i think your on the right track but you might want a thicker wing materal

  • gotta start somewhere , good try

  • To me it seemed as if the material for the wings, was too loose, the wind could blow it, rather than allow it to be firm enough to push, and withstand the force. Pretty cool though, I wanna build one.

  • wow you guys are idiots.

  • FAIL! Hahahahah!

  • im going to make one with a giant poster board i have from science class, im not an old vergin if you where thinking im only 13 my numberis 1-217-691-3267

  • There's too much flapping, you need a steady billow to footlaunch like that, the sail should definitely be more rigid.

    Good fun, though XD

  • fail!

  • i love seeing those chicken legs run!

  • Markmeloney has got the right idea!

  • ur fabric isnt tight enough, the flapping causes you to lose energy, you need something that will push against the wind harder

  • that had more flapping than my old loose balls

  • hahaha all that running should keep you fit :)

  • use a silk sailboat sale it is stronger and it is liter then thick plastic!!! And if you get the right one you can fit it one without cutting!!!!

    Nice work!

  • sweet deal bros

here...try trimming you wing a bit...so its not as floppy....and not as much of a U on either side....i started making gliders when i was 10...using old tent rainflys and wood...the using tin roofing(dont ever use that stuff)

but ya...keep experimenting dudes...and fuck those other guys...its all about providing for youself...anyone with money can go buy somthing...leave it to hte lower guys like us to make stuff our selves...just stay close to the ground at first aight

  • Very nice! Don't listen to these idiots who havent even got a clue how a modern hang glider flies and its development

  • im a prick that bought 1,good luck with you endeavors.

  • zbrownmars listen:menamiketrx said it only for your own good. Yeah its true to build smth is so much fun, but its not a toy(gliders shuld be analized...this sht is pice of crap its obvious u saw hang glider only in picture). You dont realize when the wind blow and lift you on 10m or so....when "prick" goes and take lessons its couse he want have fun and suvive..to many stupid ppl died on own construnted hang gliders. If u want....pls do so, but dont insult smarther ppls then u.Ave

    menamiketrx.

  • Hey, I used to want to do the same.Build an own hang-glider.But I realised it's too difficult to do a really good glider.I'll be a paraglider.U should try the same. But I've not given up to build one. :) It can be funny to make short flights with friends.

Boys, don't give up, try to make a better and load up the newest vid :) but be very carefull! And the real flying is better!

  • i recommend hang gliding over paragliding. Its better for your back. Plus you can fly in more conditions, go farther and faster.

  • maybe ur right, but i like the freedom of paragliding.both sports are great in different ways.the best would be fly with all of 2 equipments

  • Come on guys.... Do you really want to fly? Give up on this 60's design. There are some great used, "Modern" hang gliders available. Why risk your life and limb with that mess you have built. By the way... can't blame not flying on there being to much wind. Blame it on poor design, shoddy construction and materials, and no experience.

Do a search on the Internet for the United States Hang Gliding/Paragliding Association. They will provide all the info you need to get flying.

  • listen sure it's crap but it is our first try. i mean don't knock us because we are working our way up from scratch. we are learning from our mistakes and will be building another one . any asshole can by a hang glider and fly but it will be so much more if we can reach it our selves.

  • @zbrownmars true

  • @zbrownmars I agree, i dont think you understand the satisfaction from building something yourself. And good job ! I know nothing of full scale gliders but id say have the plastic tighter and have bigger wing area.

  • there is more that can be said about a kid who teaches himself to fix up a junker then if he bout a ne wor used car for the same amount of money it to him to fix up the junker. if i spend as much money building and rebuilding a glider from scratch as i would to buy one the moment i get my feet even a foot off the ground it'll have been worth it. its not just about flying its about proving something too ourselves. any prick can buy a hang glider and take lessons but we're earning our right slowly

  • @zbrownmars wrong, any prick can glue some shit together, call it a hangglider and run down a hill. For proper hanggliding you need to earn your flying-skills step by step. It takes quite some time to be able to fly a hangglider relatively safely . You need constant training and you'll realize that even after 4 years of flying-experience you're still far away from being able to master all situations occurring during flights...

  • @zbrownmars im doing the exact same thing and i know what you mean. im willing to risk a broken leg if i can me in the air for 5 meters cause its just so priceless...
