Focus on your third eye; close eyes and look at the height of your eyebrows. Then use mantra in your mind to calm your thoughts. Focus in one thought!
With respect, forget the "mantra/third eye" stuff. Take some time for quiet awareness. Calm awareness. You can be aware of your breath as a reminder; even during the everyday rush. Buddhism is not the "only way", of course, but most of them - apart from a few sects - teach properly. Tibetan, Zen, Shri Lankan: you'll find someone not far from you. Good luck!
