Well if you want to get technical like that, ALL of the Resident Evil games have 'partners' in them, that's why it's called Alpha "Team" and not Alpha "Single Member".
Just because you don't play as more than one member at the same time in the other games doesn't mean that you're doing the mission 'solo' (especially RE2, where Claire and Leon's stories are intertwined).
Anyway, this is a really dumb thing to argue about.
