@cod4madass yeah this was done in high wind, and the 140mph was a conservative estimate from a doppler. i have no doubt it is capable of going faster. also the 2000W was an estimate, it actually turned out to be closer to 1800W. When i get some time and some new packs I will prop it to nearly 3000W.

I need to film my stryker RPMs sound about the same lost one prop due to rpms. it doesnt matter, you can reverse the direction of the motor by changing the esc wires around. i think you only need ot p ay attention in what prop you buy, since some are pusher props and others are pullers.

That's a fast Stryker. Now if we could only get these bodies with a symmetrical airfoil! They are very positively stable as designed with the semi- symmetrical airfoil meaning they will always want to climb abruptly, especially at high airspeeds. But, boy I know this one has to be fun!

HOLY FUCK. yo i got a pz spitfire yestday and i was flyin it in an open field and i managed to fly it so far out to the tree line upside down. and when i did this i tried to do a looptie loop but unfortuntley caught a branch. heres the funny thing, the branch ripped right into my propellor and bent straight through  my fusalage ripping all my servos OUT. the funny thing was the WHOLE PLANE WAS FINE but the servos were all gone! NOW HOW THE FUCK DOES THAT HAPPEN????!!!

I was very close to the 100mph mark with my last one, but even with its glassed body and carbon fiber reinforcements, the body ripped itself apart in the middle of a high speed dive and showered the field with unidentifiable pieces of foam and wire..

So I checked the Neu 1509 motor on Castle site. It shows 1500 watt max with 1000 watt continuous for all 1509 models. Are you sure you don't have 1512? Or are only getting 1500?

What do you suggest for a ESC? What is your full set up sir. You know what you are doing. I was thinking of getting a 1515.

It's definitely the 1509. The motor may be rated at 1500 watts but it will draw whatever you prop it for until it melts or blows a winding. I have actually propped it up to 2500 watts now although I crashed it on maiden at this power level. I will repair it when I get time and try again. I can't speak highly enough of the quality and capability of the Neu's and I'm yet to see one that won;t handle significantly more power than it is rated for.

Did you reinforce the body with something like carbon fiber or spray it with fiberglass in order to take the stresses of the extreme speed? Bare foam can only stand so much.

It has spruce trailing edges with ply laminated balsa elevons. It has a square carbon tube lateral spar and it's covered with fiberglass and water based polyurethane. Fins are balsa coated with poly and painted.

ESC is a Castle Creations Phoenix 125 (125 amps 160 amp burst). It's running 6 cell 3500MAH packs that are 30-40C. Motor is a NEU 150 rated at 2000 watts though I'm sure it's good for quite a bit more.
