  • are you mulatto? because I am am I am looking for really cute hair styles?

  • what does mulatto have to do with cute hair styles??? btw im all BLACK

  • I agree 100% anyone can have a curly hair even caucasians (no offence) Ethnicity has nothing to do with it. It's all about the texture and thats why people now have beautiful healthy hair. Yes most whites have straight hair and most blacks have coarse hair. All the people in between had to look at texture. We should do the same. btw I'm mixed and my hair is a mess. It's getting better though, I love your hair

  • actually...coarse doesn't have squat to do with you being black or white. most curlies have FINE hair not coarse ask a stylist that deals with curly hair that knows what the hell they are talking about. my hair isn't coarse, don't know lots of folks with coarse hair, mine is normal. but i can show you a white girl on a website with hair that is super coarse and you still can't tell by looking at it.

  • @richeau I know alot of whites have coarse hair but we don't see that often just like alot of blacks have straight hair

  • okay, this is not you personally but a lot of folks are unable to decipher hair TEXTURE. hair is straight, wavy or curly and then you have fine, normal and coarse. most think they have coarse hair when they really don't because the average lay person doesn't really know what coarse hair entails. and you can't SEE if someone's hair is coarse, so of course it seems like an unlikely concept. but it's not that rare trust me.

  • okay, perfect example, from the blended beauty website. as they describe what the silk shake is good for: The perfect product for coarse dry straight hair, such as some Asian hair.

Think of heavy, heavy hair that you can tie a cord around and use like a broom. THAT's coarse but most of the time you won't be able to tell unless you're either trained/really know hair and then are touching it.

  • @richeau

i thought you were mexican. like they say you just cant simply look at someone and always know their ethnicity

  • E,

Where do you purchase your redken products from? I used to get them from Ulta when I was in MD but alas I am in NJ now...Many thanks!

  • In the Southeast CVS stores have started stocking 3 dollar sample bottles of 'high end' hair products. I think even Wal Mart down here carries Redkin, Matrix etc.

  • is redken good for mixed hair eg.mulatto hair?

  • hey mama! let me give you this one piece of advice, don't get sucked into what you can use for hair types. use what WORKS! lol! anyone can use redken, it's great stuff! try the sample containers from ulta

  • being mulatto has nothing to do with it it's about your hair texture

  • the best hairstylist i ever had was a man, when i was in jr high, he had my hair so long and healthy... i gotta find another one :o)

  • Girl, you are SO funny! And, on the real, I'm tempted to agree with the ladies on longhaircareforum...you have SO many products...u gotta be a pusher..lol.

  • Your hair is similar to mine and my daughters. I've enjoyed your reviews very much. I am looking forward to doing a flat iron style soon and this is helpful

  • I'm sry I didn't hear what you washed & conditon your hair with? But your hair is thick and u have pretty waves

  • thanks! i shampooed with chagrin valley coconut milk shampoo bar and deep conditioned with redken all soft heavy cream, and i used the clear john frieda glaze on top

  • thank you

  • I just can't believe how fast your hair has grown. It's beautiful Ri!

  • Good review! Your hair is lovely!

  • OMG LOOK @ ALL THAT HURR!

  • OMG and we let our hair dry the same exact way! :)

  • isn't it easy!

  • your hair looks great! how long have you been natural?

  • since 2001 :)

  • I LOVE YOUR HAIR.....

  • Girl I aint mad that you put a barrier between your hair and the flat iron. Dang girl do we get to see it straight?

  • That's right! Cause I wear my own texture and I don't want it to get damaged! lol

  • Ri, Anti-Snap is the business and yes, I use it throughout my entire head as well. I have to ask though, how long does it take to flat iron your hair?!!

  • it took like an hour. that vid is uploading though ;)

  • Wow! You put a force feild of protector on that hair!

  • lemme tell you......lol!!! im touching it now like did i go overboard?? hahaha i dont want to mess up my texture though!

  • That's EXACTLY what I was thinking, lol...I haven't straightened my hair since 2003 but I don't think I used half the products you did and my hair is nappity-nap-nappy (you know what I mean, I love my nappity-nap-naps). I never had a problem with reversion but then again I always erred on the side of less heat.

I too agree that the Anti-Snap (I use the Generic version because I'm cheap) is great.

  • yeah girl i know!!! i love your nappity-nap-napps too!!! you have one of the most beautiful heads of hair (one head lol)

i didnt know there was a generic version of anti snap, does it work as well as the redken one?

  • You know, I can't say because I've never tried the Redken to compare. I like it, though.

    One head! lol

  • Hi,Ri! I was just looking at the John Frieda Glaze and wondering if I should try it...(Pj-ism in me is brewing....hmmm... I'll wait to see how your flat iron turns out with it in your hair first...whew!)--PJ-ism almost got me there...thanks for the info.

  • NICE!!!!
