He didn't unify it himself. In fact Wei didn't even. Wei was the closest of the 3 Kingdoms to unify it, if I'm correct, but Jin took over and unified it.

The three kingdoms ins't my strongest subject, so I could be wrong, but I think thats it.

You are correct. Jin was Sima Yi's clan. They got rid of the Cao family and one of his sons became the king of Jin.
