@stasber I do a very different type (mechanically speaking) of connective tissue massage, but we do not use oil or lotion either. We use posture to maintain control and proper depth. However, we do not move through the tissue as quickly a this shows. Also, this looks like it would tear up the therapist's hands, while the style in which I was trained puts no such strain on my joints. You should check out johnlatz.com.

Oil or lotion is not usually used? Does that not cause friction control issues? For the therapist, such as 0:19 or 0:56 or 1:07 (esp fatigue & wear), or for the client/patient, such as 1:25 (discomfort from dry friction)? Another modality for my skillset -good demo, thanks.

Our mainstream media is filled with images of unrealistic standards of beauty, and every commercial image involving people(In a consumer-based culture, mind you- so almost everything is commercial) is of supermodels. Because of this, most of the under-educated population holds unattainable standards of beauty(Whether they themselves meet them or not- typically not). Many Americans, mind you, disagree with this precedent.

I've done massage for 19 yrs and my fingers are fine. This particular therapy is called "Bindegewebsmassage" in Germany and is incredibly effective.
