Since I am working on a nanometer size helical carbohydrate scaffold as the trans-dimensional transporter for living creatures, this is nice to see. Compare this with Ezekiel's " wheel in a wheel" double helical structure.
i've never seen a helical one in well over a decade of trolling the Tesla, high voltage and laser guys. nice idea.
it'd be cool if you could get the arc turning slowly
I wonder if you were to put these so we're looking along the coil axis (under a glass table for example), if the arc could be controlled well enough to make it look like a clock; may have to put it in an enclosure to keep out drafts etc
@lexichronicle2 actually it is slower than it looks but due to the frame loss it seems faster, One could make a clock with arcs for hands or maybe the seconds only... perhaps i'l give that a try (when the heavens rain free time...)
Pretty cool! I actually googled 'helical jacobs ladder' to see if it had been done. Keep up the good work. Maybe you could put it in a plasma globe like setup(?).
Why Jacob's Ladder, why not Tesla's Ladder because his first coil made streamers between two loops. See Tesla's autobiography, the picture is still published so far to date.
