  • "He thinks it'll only do 4 miles on a tank" hahahahahaha that's awesome.

  • What a dork ! Camelback on the screen ! When thirsty, get off the bike and move yer fuck'n legs a bit, won't need the gelseat either then ! Most stupid is the spare fuel container on the pillion seat, secured by a bungy cord ! What a tosspot, wouldn't give him the time of the day if you ask me ! Goes to show, there's bikers and then there's BIKERS ! Doesn't deserve a nice bike like this either, should have a moped ! Dork ! What a DORK !

  • I think I am going to trade in my R1 today and pick myself up one of these. I have been thinking about it for awhile now so I think I am going to do it. I am wanting to travel across the US at some point and possible over seas somewhere in the future and I dont think I can do it on a R1 lol.

  • @XFoolXProofX you can do it on a R1! See ?v=ThO-w9SCM8I

  • @svengalie Can do it and want to do it are 2 diff things. lol I do day trips of 300 miles or so to the mountains and back but for sure wouldnt want to do it loaded with gear from North Carolina to Oregon and back. I think that might kill me.

  • @XFoolXProofX did u see the video?

  • @svengalie ? I seen your video yeah?

  • @XFoolXProofX no, put this in the address bar:

    ?v=ThO-w9SCM8I

  • @svengalie Well he doesnt have a passenger either and that is a must.

  • @svengalie And I picked up my GS 1200 Adventure this afternoon. =)

  • ... few casualties on the way. LooLLz

  • if you love GS 1200 myarctic.co.uk

  • FFS man,get rid of the camelbak from the screen,it looks absolutely shite and that petrol container strapped to the back seat..wtf are you on man..get a proper jerry can that can be strapped to the top box with anchor points and out of the way.I bet that petrol container expanded to near bursting point before you had to bin it,from the look of this setup don't make any plans for Dakar anytime soon..

  • nice bike- i wanna buy one to do the route 40 in Argentina when I move there!

  • nice ride dude...

  • what a mess !!

  • have some motorcycle with your accessories

  • what the fuck do you need a satnav for? Very nice bike!

  • Sven, Can I ask a few questions? Firstly how much (on average) does it cost to fill her up (the full 8.7 gallons), and do you get around 400 miles from a tank? Also as a tall rider is the additional screen a "Must have" for touring. Lastly, can you fit other panniers as I think I prefer the KTM's as they seem to lock on/off easier, are lighter (being plastic) and have decent carry handles. V.nice bike and great set up, good job!

  • how many miles can you do on your bike? im considering getting one

  • That's what a woman would look like if she was a bike. Sleek, Sexy, amazing to ride and you always want seconds!

  • what are these adventurer tourers really like to ride compared to sports bikes? do they provide the thrill of corning like the sportsbike?

  • @dutto75man why not get a test ride?

I think so, I loved it in the twisties, I've got a video somewhere of some switchbacks on it. Because you're sat up so high and tall you've got further to lean it feels like.

  • @svengalie yeah i noticed that sensation while riding a trail bike, if your sitting higher you feel the lean more. Awesome. thanks. Hows the ABS feel like? I drive a VW car and i find the ASR traction control is incredibly effective. Hows the ABS go on a motorcycle?

  • did you keep the bike after the crash?

  • charlie and ewan had less gear than that on the long way round .......oh yea as I write this I just realized they also had a massive support crew .lol

  • dude when im waiting for my mates i love to film my GSA :D. its such a beutiful bike!

  • Which Laminar lip is that on the bike? I am the same height and need quite things down. Did you have the factory tall windscreen on the bike or the standard windscreen?

    Thanks,

    Tom

  • @tomekdtw Hi Tom, was he able to answer your question? I think im getting the factory standard smaller windsreen.

  • cara sou fa dessa moto..

  • Funny review! haha

    mudkipz?!! hahaha

  • cant even imagine how much weight that bike is with all that gear and also you on it.

Must of been quite scary cornering the roads in alps on that thing !

  • @carlosgustard nono, I quite comfortably managed to get it right over (enough to scrape the side boxes). It's surprisingly ok. Although it's very heavy unladen, as I found out when it landed on my leg and broke it in two places recently :(

  • @svengalie ouch ! i saw the photo of your leg, never released it was the BMW you dropped as i thought it was one of your offroaders !

Hope your legs mending alright, you back doing your motorcyle vlogs any time soon ?

  • tom tom gps's are low end anyway.

  • 1:50 very funny......

  • i love mudkips too.

  • LK09 summet summet E?

  • @ridewithme2010 no, but it's irrelevant as I have a private plate on the bike now :P

  • @svengalie lol you registered this one unlike when you got pulled over?

  • Thanks for the reacharound

  • dude nice walkaround :-)

  • Nice vid. My TomTom Rider stopped charging from the bike a few times too. It's the mount. I sent it back and they replaced a few times without question, which was good of them, although I paid enough for it, I should have needed to!

Anyway, long story short, it's now out of warranty and I fixed it myself. Simple when you know where to look.

  • Hello, i was wondering how tall you must be to ride that bike, I am 6' exact, and this is the bike i want. It would of great if u could help.

  • @prajeet26 I'm on lowest seat setting, 6'5" and my feet aren't flat on the ground.

You can get lower seats and or change the suspension.

  • @svengalie God I never thought at 6' I would be short for some thing, now i want one, thanks for the info mate.

  • How about a personal review of that bike? That is the very bike I want and the fact that it appears pretty effortless to ride in your videos only reinforces my decision. The riding position seems very back friendly, large fuel tank, great engine, etc. Any information you can provide would be great.

  • @nnonix I hope you're tall. I have the seat on the lowest setting, I'm 6'5" and im still only just tall enough.

It seems to pull to the right under hard acceleration.

Besides that it's so effortless. Zero maintenance. It monitors the tyre pressures and there's no chain to maintain.

I did 700 miles in one hit and could have continued, it's uber comfy.

  • @svengalie I'm 6'3" tall so it shouldn't be a problem. There must be a suspension height adjustment or something because I've seen shorter people riding them.

The pull to the right comes from the big boxer engine. The crankshaft is in-line with the bike so you get side torque opposite the rotation of the engine.

    Thanks for the great feedback.

  • @nnonix Fair enough. You can buy a smaller seat etc. But from stock you'll be /just/ ok @ 6'3" I recon.

Oh, last feedback: don't take it offroad. First time I tried I broke my leg :(

She's a big girl to take in the mud (especially on road tyres)

  • 1:50 hahaha

    whats's a camel back??

  • @Sirradal it's a water bag carried on your back with a long "straw" near your mouth. Hence you're a camel. Hence the name.

  • Like Mudkips i see?

  • Brilliant!

  • What is the GB for?

  • Great Britain.

This is a legal requirement for when driving abroad to indicate which country you're from.

(So the French know to be extra rude to me)

  • i like the <3 mudkips decal

haha. i think i get it.

  • looks like a beast. but i like it. did you have to get them street tires your self or do you get to pick when you buy it?

  • this bike is my dream...have fun with it..

  • nice video, and fun=D

  • im 6 feet tall and im only a teen

  • how tall is freakishly tall? and how much did that bike weigh with all your kit? :D

  • 6'5" no idea on the weight.

Bike weight (look it up) plus 38 kilos of fuel plus the full panniers *shrug*

  • cool, i am getting a 2009 GSA next week. My dealer already told me that there is an issue with the TomTom gpd as the BMW recognises it as a Charger. Where did you get the windscreen extension?

  • Touratech.

They have a little free book/catalogue.

DON'T GET ONE. Else you'll easily find yourself £x,xxx lighter.

They've got lots of cool accessories.

  • you should put the camel pack on the gas tank instead of the front s

    so u can see

  • great bike...the exact bike i wanted..but this poor boy from maine had to settle for a suzuki vstrom..have to say..i feel in love with her..vera vstrom :>)

  • so you do liek mudkipz sven? your such a geek ;D

  • I love seeing bikes with all the touring gear loaded up (panniers, gel seat, sat nav ) Makes me all excited :-D

  • The accessory socket is limited to about 5 amps

  • source?

  • awesome bike man... becareful you don't go too crazy with the luggage, watching long way round, couldn't believe how many times they broke their rear subframes from the luggage and hard riding conditions...

  • how tall are you sven? i want to get into biking but i dont fit on some nice bikes, im 6ft 2

  • He's 6ft 5 and a half in the mornings.

  • Yeah, I meant empty weight.

  • An 09 bike Sven!

    You are so rich!!!

  • so, sven...

    I HERD U LIEK MUDKIPS!

  • I have tomtom rider 2 edition and I never had problems with it. In my opinion it's pretty good gps, the only things that sucks are that there's no built in mp3 player and map updates do cost a lot of money. Could be fun to download a map torrent but theres no pirated finnish maps with finnish(inluding the voices) language.

  • Good to know! I was thinking about the Tom Tom Rider.

  • i herd your gs adventure leiks mudkipz

  • Mudkips are cool, but i like Torchic's.

  • What's the bracelet for?

  • For men younger than me, who are braver than me.

  • ahh! I love gadgets! I was thinking of an ipod mount but now I'll have to think twice. Also looking into a gps but it won't be motorcycle specific. I'll just use it during non rainy days :)

  • Don't bother. Ipod didn't like the vibrations, iphone didn't either.

    1 broke phone.

    1 recovered ipod.

  • Gotta love moments like that "yeah i'll be down in 15 minutes"

    ....................................

3 hours later "o sorry i had to take a quick shower" I swear my friends do that stuff too lol.
