  • More connected, technically because the internet means you can communicate with all the world.

  • I think technology, though it can be great, can enable creeper behavior (see comments below: marriage proposal, etc.) since etiquette has not carried over to the new tech. Gone are the days where your thoughts remained private. Now, people feel encouraged to post personal/intimate thoughts with disregard to anyone else. Quite narcissistic, really.

  • Dear Amy.

I know this is not the best way to propose to someone but,

    please marry me!

  • I'll become a Amy's stalker.

  • You are amazing. I'm officially obsessed with all your videos and your project. You are a powerful creator and you inspire me beyond words. I have so much respect for you not only for expressing yourself creatively, but inspiring a team of countless people throughout the world to join you in your beautiful creation. I really am amazed. Thank you! We are connected

  • I feel technology has brought me much closer to my family. I work shifts and live away from them all so don't see them as often as I would like, but via text message and facebook we speak every day :D My wife lives in UK and her family are in South Africa, without technology she just wouldn't have contact with them. Apart from maybe letters, but we want the news as it happens! Best of luck Amy! X

  • Gosh, Amy, I'm excited! I love poignant stories...Hope this movie makes me cry..

  • Nothing better than turning off all the distractions of technological world and just be with the family, eating dinner, playing a game or just talking. I do however like my down time for me to glance at you tube vids like this and leave my 4 cents. lol congrats hope the project goes well.

  • SHE IS SO FREAKY!!!! WHAT THE HELL!?

  • I would say technology gives a second-rate sense of connection. It's nice, but not nearly as good as face-to-face.

  • @Mazumune

Take your meds and stay away from your computer.

  • It sounds like a poifect idea!

  • I respect and embrace you're passion - which clearly comes across in you're blog and other material, which you are involved in. I find that to mental understand, what is a business venture, clearly! needs the creativity aspect of creating a feature film to be kept to you're direction and script, and maybe focus you're delivery more about why, how, where, all the production aspect! I would invest MORE THAN ASKED! if I could get a clear view of you're pre-pro and you're production ideas.

  • As corny as this sounds it also sounds awesome...and you are really talented. Where are you from originally? I am going to guess the midwest or California but you tell me:)

  • Haha! The Linda Richman thing was so great!

I was her for halloween when I was like ten years old.

  • sounds smart idea....I'll think about posting a piece

  • OH so this is YOUR real ACCENT!!!

hahahah man your amazing!!! love your work

  • my dad says i can donate ten dollars, but where?

  • i think it's the soulfire website.

  • I'm excited for you. Its a great idea, by the way. Looking forward to the film!!

  • Can't wait to see this Amy!

    Michael

  • "more"? "less"? bah! no more spoilers or speculation! I'll "wait until the movie comes out", thank you. ;3

"get rich quick scheme" ... ? I don't even know what the "scheme" is, myself.. but it sounds voluntary and as long as the focus is not on the expected guarantee of investmental return (contrast with ponzi) then your comparison fails.

If someone offers to let me invest in something which may be profitable, may be fun, may change minds, then they have my #$%^ attention. :P

    Let's do this ;3

  • 2:44 <--- lol

  • Haha I love you amy!!!

  • MORE, I talk to my friends through my computer. i couldn;t live without my computer.

  • btw, great lighting!

    D.

  • Hi Ami, I love your blog. I'm also in the movie business in Kansas City, Missouri. Your project sounds very interesting. If I had one tenth the confidence you have I'd be a much more successful person. Good luck with it all.

    Love you long time.

  • less, because we're here false connecting online instead of making connection with people you'll actually meet or actually know

  • less.

  • I really love to see the process that goes behind creating something such as this. As a fellow writer, it always puts a smile on my face to look back at finished projects and see just how much work went into it from the initial concept to the finished product. I wish you the best of luck with this and your future endeavors.

P.S. Still working on getting those accents down!!

  • Am i the only one who thinks this is a get rich quick skeem? having everyone pay to be heard on "soulfire" is a slap in the face to people who cant, believe it or not, affored it, especially with our messed up economy.

  • if you don't have the money, or can't afford it, you don't have to donate.

  • Can't afford it? ..just skip a meal or something, I guess. Get-rick-quick scheme? ...yeah, I kinda got that vibe too. But then, I realized that it's also a matter of perspective. Paying to watch a hollywood flick is participating in a get-rich scheme. Sort of. I'd rather contribute to this gal than to most the people in the film industry. She seems sincere and I think she is / will try to influence the world for good. Just my two cents. Regards.

  • Just by watching your video i remembered a song in Sensual World, by Kate Bush. The song is called A Deeper Understanding, and it is about something like the film is going to be about. You could add it to the soundtrack, lol.

It's always nice to hear from you!

  • Exciting!

  • Staying closely connected in the world of technology is a bit of a struggle for me. I love youtube and vloggers because I get to connect with someone I've never met before, which I love. But often times I can lose myself in that kind of connection and neglect the opportunities to connect with the people around me. It's the same with things like facebook, I connect with my faraway friends, but lose the opportunity to make new ones close by. So I guess it's a bit of both.

  • Haha! Well, most of my family are on Facebook, too. So if I get carried away, my Mom just sends me a message and says, "Hey, get off of that and come help meee!" xD I definitely think technology helps us stay connected-- if we want to be. Otherwise we end up gaming our lives away with perfect strangers behind pixeled characters while we slowly turn into jaundiced zombies. Eh.

  • haha. yes i do feel connected both with technology and without, both together make life great

  • Technology means we can be more connected to the people we WANT to connect with rather than the people we HAVE to connect with. If the people you HAVE to connect with are the people you WANT to connect wiv - ie family - then all the better

  • lol amy your amazing!

  • So is your film going to be about these connections, or do you mean your blog on the film is a way of connecting?

  • Watching your videos always cheers me up! It's nice to know there's somebody out there who is still fascinated and enthusiastic about what they're doing. Can't wait to see this idea take shape, keep up the good work!

    -sends love- xXx

  • ...the world!

  • I was facinated your personality even though I don't understand clearly what you say .. I'm Japanese learning English and British accent...anyway, you are energetic and give me possitive thinking :))

  • can't wait to hear and see more and good luck with everything!

thanks for the good vibes :)))

  • Omg, you are awesome! xD

    Sounds great, Amy!!

  • What a great idea! I can't wait to see it!

  • This will rule, but that's to be expected from you :) Best of luck!

  • I think we're less connected to ourselves. Instead we just become robotic in our routines, I for one check the same websites everyday. I always check my email, check the youtube emails, then the facebook, then the bebo, then the myspace etc. We become distant to those in the real world and while we make friendships to distant people, we may feel connected to them in some ways but at the same time we distance to both people near and people at a distance. We loose who we truly are.

  • I think what your doing is beautiful and necessary

  • I... am... on Facebook at the moment. How did you know!!? :O

    hehe

  • u look just like my art teacher! even ur voice!

  • even her voice looks like your art teacher? weird!

  • and her hair sounds like my maths teacher!

  • i know!

  • Wonderful! :)

  • Can't wait! Wonderful, wonderful script idea btw. I can totally see a whole story easily in my head...will you be acting all the parts yourself?...not that I'd be disappointed! (:

  • Taking this brilliant and original idea and turning it into a product is a momentous task and you can pull it off in the unique way that only you and your team can. Good luck. PS - Technology does connect us but only on a certain level, the highest levels of connection and intimacy can only be achieved face to face. Inspiration and admiration however, can come through connections via current technology - which is a fantastic feat of human society.

  • Wonderful ideas, both the film and the whole idea of Soulfire!

  • you are way to funny...

  • Btw.. your looks remind me of a grown up version Kristen Stewart... hehe

  • I think technology connects us to those we don't see everyday, but tears us from ones to whom we should be closer....

    Does that make any sense?

  • Man you're so awesome! I do feel connected to you in this video you know. I think though, when we see things online we feel TOO connected at times. Internet & computer has almost become an extension of our mind... our imagination... I don't know what point I'm getting at here and I'm far too sleepy to explain the rest.. hehe. Anyway, good luck! Can't wait to see more of this blog! xx

  • I'm excited :)

And I think that technology provides us with the opportunity to connect with people we would otherwise never have encountered. It gives us this incredible chance to learn new things about people and each other. However, the problem comes when we cannot achieve any sort of balance between the people we connect with through the computer, and the people who are standing right beside us.

  • i physically connect to you mentally sometimes, if you know what i mean ;-)

  • we are connected!! I loved this and such an interesting topic, I can't wait to watch more

  • I love to edit too! Except, I just get sooo obsessed over it, that it takes up my entire time. But, I feel so accomplished once it's all done.

  • wow, that was amazing!

good luck hun, you're really awesome :D

  • I totally get your point with the internet while your "connected" you let your life slip away. I just got back from our school's relay for life and these people that battle cancer are loving every second they have on this earth and living it up but those who are perfectly healthy just waste their lives on a computer all day.

  • hehehe, i love ur little NY lady in there. ur so funny. i understand tho, i believe technology can connect us in certain ways but when ur spending all ur time there u have no balance. technology is convenient for keeping in contact with far away friends and family but can also get in the way of friends and family, we must be cautious and disciplined with technology.

  • Technology can only enhance/multiply/amplify a person's own inate character. People who use to keep little black address books and send out hand written letters and holiday cards to 20 people 25 years ago can not stay in touch with 500 people...but those who never stayed in touch with others, won't change just because of technology!

  • A persons understanding and way of life will dictate whether technology is an asset or hinderance in the ability in "connecting" with others. I feel connecting is best fostered when we put aside our gadgets and invest ourselves to those we love.

  • Agreed!

  • can't wait!

PS. i love how you jump right in to a character! :)

  • Looking forward to following your blog. Hope everything turns out well.

  • Amazing Amy!! Loved it.

    ...great job, as usual :)

  • You are so incredibly inspiring. I don't know if I can still contribute to the film, but I would really love to! I'm very excited to see where this project goes. Good luck Amy!

  • You are so positive, I am amazed! Clearly you are the kind of lady who gets things done, indeed.

  • i absolutely love and admire your passion.

  • agreed.

  • awesome :) and i laughed when you acted out the typing haha

  • cant wait for the film. (film blogs etc.)<<(i typed all of that but its disappeared ) haha... i dont like to edit videos. I like filming them but not editing :) I believe technology makes people more connected :)
