  • The more I listen to Natalie Cole riffing on songs like this and others, it becomes clear how underrated Natalie Cole was and is. She def. has stellar talent, with her own unique phrasings and style to her songs. But this should come as no surprise because we sometimes forget who her father was!

  • Wow, brings back house parties of the 70's, great times

  • Such a great song. Makes me happy when I'm down because of its bubbly MELO-MELO-MELO-DEE!!! Brings back the memories that's for sure!!

  • I was born in the 90's, and this is my ISH right here!

  • I haven't heard this song. Glad I found this. Great music from bac in the day.

  • Amy Winehouse wouldve sounded better LOL

  • @TheCongenital Amy WInehouse was a talented singer, but we will never know what Amy WInehouse could do better now that she is gone. In my opinion, Ms. Cole can sabg circles around a lot of singers. Just enjoy the music and stop the comparisons. Enough said!

  • Beautiful memories never to be forgotten. This is music!!!

  • Pure talent. Not studio engineered!

  • 着実にキャリアを重ねるナタリー・コール、今や、幅広いジャズ・シンガーだが、若い時の"MR・MELODY"の、ファッショナブル・ソウルがいまだ鮮烈 #jazzm

  • Love her! One of my old favorites here!

  • do you have an instrumental of this song?

  • Just another one of Nat King Coles masterpieces = His daughter!

  • yes yes yes over and over again now thats music nothing like 70s r and b

  • ikkei i agree with you. i rather listen to the real good music then this fake music this young generation is listening to today

  • This is what you feel when you really connect with a special soul--you hear music playing...a beautiful melody.

  • my love is my music,,,il try to swim in this rough seas when my mr melody leaves me...ive been swimming in it when he left without a word but came back to say hello n most likely hell just formally have to say goodbye for us to be at peace,,respect even just that moment...i can see ppl happy about it anyway n women cueing now..

  • made my day!!! thanks downloadmusic .im

  • @divinagoettel22 .............It make me smile and happy ;)

  • That was some great shit for disco. Natalie Cole NEVER disappointed me with her music. She would have done her father proud.

  • ohhhh yeah this kind of groove is INCREDIBLE

  • it makes me sing, it makes me all time happy...perfekt..

  • für alle Sinti

  • the backup arrangements are so crazy here- I to this day think Natalie should offer her funky backup blend to modern artist. When she mixes that high and higher note the result is just insane! Cole-fire music, Colettes, Cole-arama have all been names Natalie has named her arrangements but I prefer Cole-fire music.

  • I was on VibesFm and I heard it and I said I have to find this tune!!!!

  • This song is off the hook and when she says 'Hey, Mr Melody' at the beginning is just so wicked!!!!

  • 2:14-2:33 This bit is awesome! Who needs words.

  • this is a really good song

  • これは1976年に開催された東京音楽祭の第5回世界大会で見事グランプリに輝いた名曲です。TBS東京放送は早く東京音楽祭の全記録映像を解禁するように!!!。

  • I saw her perform at a Disco in Fort Lauderdale in 1976 following the release of her second album containing this song. It was before she really hit it big and she was fantastic. I'll never forget the image of her performing on that small stage. Natalie you are the best!

  • My all time favorite Natalie song and the very first album I bought with my own money.

  • shooby shooby dwe yah .I think she beats Ella at Her Own Game .

  • man oh man sista Natalie blows the hell out of this song. It is hers and hers all alone. Natalie you are Misses Melody and don't forget it. You are in my prayers and the best to you in health love and happiness. My girl.

  • She is at her best in Jazz- love you Natalie always- Scat on sis

  • Aww! Miss Natalie Cole! Supreme!

  • I was18 or 19 singing this song with Natalie C. surprised anytime I found myself going from elation to tears. Stilled, I'd dismiss the experience, unable to put it into words; simply moving into the next song or part of my day. Looking back from "here" I realize a note chimed in my spirit by the dance of her voice...was a witness to "my Father's" handiwork in me, even from birth. I'm forever grateful to "Mr. Melody" in my life...The world's a better place when we're together.

  • I'd forgotten how much I love this song. Natalie showed up and showed out - scattin', whole nine... Thanks for posting.

  • unforgettable song, brings back many memories

  • Can someone please post the original version of Sophisticated Lady by Natalie Cole? I don't really like live versions of songs because the artists sing them totally different and they sound terrible!! THANKS!!

  • With your excellent taste in music I hope you don't stop at 3 videos. Thanx

  • Linda cancion, me encanta!!

  • fuck your songs look like your face

  • Hey, is anyone able to upload Sophisticated Lady? There is a live version uploaded on here, but it doesn't sound that great...there is nothing like the original!! Thanks!!

  • Hey, Mr. Melody, Without you I would have no song.....

  • I remember this one!!!cute and bubbly Mr melody, you got me hopping to your crazy beat! Natalis so pretty too.+-

  • mr melooody!

  • I LOVE HER JAZZY STYLE AND VOICE...AND HER SCANTS, MARVELOUS!!!! SO GLAD I GREW UP IN THE LATE 1960s AND THROUGHOUT THE 1970s!!!! I MISS THOSE TIMES SO MUCH!!!! THEY'RE GONE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN!!!!

  • Awesome song! All time favorite!

  • That women could scat, that's real singing. Not sampling like most of the music of today.

  • I LIKE THIS SONG, I JUST LOVE THIS SONG.

  • I just love this song so much. I never stop playing music like this in my house and now my daughter who is 19 loves it too.

  • Yes!! Love it !!!!

    Thank you posting!!

  • I miss this music! LOVE IT

  • this is good black music!!!!!!!!!

  • yes indeed. but the new generation love the shit of 50 cent and other,... HATE THE MUSIC that is now playing and I'm 27 years old. I'm very happy that my mom let me listen too good music of her years, now I know what's good.

  • @ikkkei I'm like you, I'm 26 and I can only listen to so much of our generation of music. Lets face it! Old School is the best. You think Chaka Khan, Patti, Aretha, Stevie Wonder and all of them wish they could have grew up in our time? Hell No! They knew how to make music back then. They sang about life literally. It was more than just singing about bitches and hoes and fly cars and iced out chains and diamonds. These singers tell a story thru song. Genius.

  • @ikkkei You're completely right!!! This is really great music!!! Current music is no match for it!!!

  • @ikkkei And I am 29 ;-). I loveeee this music......all the way from Holland.

  • @GertfromNL zo ver wonen we toch niet van mekaar

    groetjes uit Belgie

  • @ikkkei What

  • @ikkkei good music is still being made, we just have to dig a little deeper. I am the new generation and in love with music of all ages (no 50 cent for me though). Very much into Rox and Rumer right now, check them out.

  • @ikkkei that ain't treu. i'm a hiphop producer and i love this kind of music. hiphop listeners LOVE THIS MUSIC and i am 19 years old. you just judge people who listen to other music. now STOP HATING AND LISTEN to the music.

  • Tale padre tale figlia:una coppia perfetta!!!

    Grazie

    Sal

  • Brings back memories. I absolutely love this song!! The radio stations refuse to play it at all anymore. I hear old songs once in awhile that I haven't heard in years, but I have yet to hear this song. Thanks for posting it because that's the only way I get to hear it. Just on a lark, typed in the title and there it was!! :) Thank you for posting.

  • I think I 1st heard this performed by a local band here in San Diego in 1977 or 78, Splash, at the Halcyon in Pt Loma. Pat Perpich on vocals. She also sang This will be. I ran out and bought Natalie's 1st Lp and became a lifelong fan after that!

Please pass on to her or anyone that can how we are cheering her on while she fights hepatitis C. She is too beautiful and talented to give up. Don't feel that God is through with you yet Natalie Cole. We all are standing with you as you regain your health. Shalom...Vaya Condios...Ah Shah Alla...God Speed to you Ms. Cole for health and happines

  • mr meloooooooodeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • This song takes me back to 1977. I was living in El Salvador, and I went to my first concert: Natalie Cole! I was 13.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • For some reason I was never a big Natalie Cole fan, but I love this song and I'm gonna get it on my iPod.

Didn't Kinu sing this song on an old episode of "A Different World"? You know, when they had some kind of benefit/rent party thing?

  • @mscaxe LOL!!! You're right, she did. She was lip-syncing because it was actually Jalessa's voice (Dawn Lewis).

  • @mscaxe yes!!!...I was sitting here trying to remember where else I've heard this song, then it hit me.....A Different World! I think it was the episode where everyone banded together to help Walter raise money for the kids of the community by hosted a televised benefit. Can you tell I love the show...lol.

  • I would love to see Natalie in concert and perform this song...She can blow!!!
