This is a different but great way of showing the passion of the Lord.

Though the guy playing Jesus is not that good a look a like, I know why he bent sideways. They still should have put a cloth on him!

Usually the Romans stripped the condemned man naked. The gospels say they took his garments and didn't say anything about undergarments so maybe he still had a loincloth on? And they also had not shelf on the upright, but a narrow thorn-like piece of wood called a "sedile" (saddle) that you had to sit on til your crotch and genitals got numb. That item was also called a "cornu" (horn) and I suspect when it was used as a horn instead of a saddle the crucifixion was obscene as well as cruel. X(

@trent8002003 actually they divvied up the garments amongst themselves and gambled for his tunic, which was a full-body undergarment, save for the loincloth, which I now beleive was left behind at the scourging station (Romans scourged those condemned to crucifixion naked). So yes, I am convinced now he was crucifed utterly naked.

@EdM021 The crucifixion is probably historical( see Jewish history) but the facts surrounding it are fixion. ---Many rose from the dead and wandered around in Jerusalem---  This would have alarmed the Romans and reported to Rome. There is no trace, nor is there any trace of christ`s miracles.

@lizazoon It's amazing what has been suppressed about crucifixion in general and what myths and distortions have been spread wide by popular opinion. I did some more research on the sedile/cornu item that supported the crucified's body and apparently, crucified men had no choice -- they had to sit on the tip and it penetrated them, severely dilated their anuses and gave them involuntary full body orgasms. Imagine the crowd's reaction to that.

@EdM021 A realistic re enactment for once. Yes.. your sedile description is very accurate. An animal horn or a sharpened wooden stake was used. It was fitting punishment at that time for crimes such as sedition, physical revolution and murder.

@feckintoad Exactly. And it has been verified in epigraphic evidence (graffiti) scrawled by ancient Romans back then, found in Pompeii and the Puteoli Ampitheatre so far. I have found on line an image scan showing both the Pozzuoli Graffito and the Vivat Crux Graffito. Copy the next line and take out the gaps.

And Seneca, in his Epistle 101:10-14 taked about the sedile and he referred to it as a pointed crux.

@feckintoad He would also be nailed thru the forearms.. between the ulna and the radius bones.. he would also be nailed thru the ankle bones. Both nailings would use a wooden washer to prevent working the impailed limbs off the nail. The animal horn was mandatory. It would be inserted into the anus. The fact that it was blunt made sure that the condemmed could not force himself down on it to hasten his own death by bowel blood loss.

@feckintoad Yes, very true, except one could be nailed through the wrists or even the palms since the animal horn would take the weight of the crucified. A closer look at the Pozzuoli Graffito indicates that the subject was nailed through his / her right palm and left wrist - I think two taggers made that graffito: the first showed a man on the cross, then the second made changes to it to show a woman.

Also if you check out Crucifixion on Wikipedia it also explains there that (under the Romans) prisoners condemned to be crucified were stripped naked. (Hence why it mentions in all of the 4 Gospels that Jesus too was stripped of his clothes).

It was the early church that always depicted Jesus on the cross with some sort of a loin cloth. But that just is not historically accurate.

Nice video, I did the exact same crucifixtion here,the pain was unbearable,but i now know what its like to have nails driven thru the hands and feet.I was on the cross for about 48minutes before i was taken down.
