  • Heyy Angel, You duhh sexxii.

  • Comment removed

  • she asian and she talkin about samuris and japanese stones.

  • why am i here?

  • skinbut

  • Samurai practiced with wooden swords because it was too dangerous to use steel. Bokken (wooden swords) were later replaced with split bamboo because solid wood was causing too many accidental deaths while sparring, even with protective gear.

  • I ejaculated

  • Step 9 should really be WASH THE KNIFE. Most people don't like eating steel powder.

  • Damn ... I want some slant now !

  • Oil stones difficult to use? I have been using Arkansas novaculite stones since I was 8 years old. This Japanese water stone thing seems to be a fad.

  • they used wooden swords so they don't make the metal ones blunt?!?!?!? OH REALLY???

  • Hahahaha Samurai sharp blade... its funny because she is Asian :)

  • Samurai used wooden training swords (bokken) to keep from killing each other - though occasionally deaths using the bokken did still occur. Dead samurai didn't do much fighting for the local daimyo.

  • Oils stones suck....JAPANESE WATERSTONES ALL THE WAY CUTTHOATANATERS!!!

  • Yeah samurai's used wooden swords to protect their swords? They sure weren't worried about killing each other. Can't much much money if you're dead.

  • @Wilson1592 I was about to say the same thing.

  • Samurai blade? and she's Asian?

  • So how many of you people are murderers?

  • this tutorial is useless. So many mistakes. Don't bother watching. I just lost 2:43 min of my life, that I won't get back.

  • Japanese weaponry gets sharper the more you use it dumbass (as long as you don't try cutting diamond with it)

  • @Nationofhonor you are truly an idiot any bladed weapon gets dull as it's used nothing will get sharper as you use it use your common sense dumbass

  • @killerducky420 "The tongue is the only tool that gets sharper with use"

  • @Nationofhonor

Why would you think that Japanese blades get sharper with use?

  • can this be use for knifes not for cooking? I meant you know. Self defense?

  • how about a Diamond sharpener or is it only oil stones which are no good???

  • @nivekab oil stones are good and they aren't as hard to use as this video says

  • @killerducky420 this video just seems to be a little bias that was all

  • @nivekab yea it is they instantly assume because they cannot use an oil stone they label it as the worst option

  • I always thought they used wooden swords for practice to, you know, not stab each other.

  • I wonder if she would sharpen my tool for me?

  • @frenchie100000 i kno ur trying to be sexual but if she really did sharpen ur dick itd look like a fleshy chicken soup....

  • Lol my grandpa does this but he does it quicker

  • BOKKEN

  • Comment removed

  • thats a really good knife there!

  • cool... i always wanted to know how to sharpen my global chef knife =D

  • @cutlassknives sharpening steels are not dangerous as long as you know what your doing stfu

  • How do you feel the burr of the knife with your finger with lobbying/cutting it off in the process

  • A few things, first off, a fine edge will actually dull quicker than a coarse edge, as the steel is more likely to roll, and there is less of it along the edge. Secondly, the use of the sharpening steel is incredibly dangerous, regardless of what you're doing, you should never cut towards yourself. Finally, bokken were used so as to not kill their sparring partner.

  • This video is fake from the point on where she tries to pass off a Shun knife as the required dull piece of cutlery.

  • dosent the brown stone give the knife smooth edges so you can sharp it up on the grey stone

  • Samurai warriors were fucking crazy. Im pretty sure they didn't give a shit about eachother's limbs. It was definitely to maintain sharpness.

  • all ive got is a fucking shity stone that came with my knife :(

  • hot asian

  • i like the little samurai fact

  • flip the stone? Why? It's 800 grit on both sides ! Its not a combo stone you moron.

  • @7x57mmMauser it depends on the stone you get?

  • @ColonelTwinkie Yes, you can flip a two sided stone from coarse to fine but on a single grit stone it makes no sense, since it is the same on both sides.

  • Did you know that samurai warriors used wooden swords during practice to preserve their limbs?

  • Never thought oil stones were hard to use...Hmm.

  • Beautiful model!

  • This should be called sure fire way to fuck up a nice knife with the wrong angle when you sharpen it. Leave this kinda sharping to the pros or buy a guide at least geeze, those chef knifes aint cheap.

  • yeah ive seen the last samurai

  • She has better sharpening technique than most of the celebrity chefs on utube. Take note Gordon you foul mouthed tosser.

  • i want that samurai chef !

  • women work in da kitchen! :D

  • you know sharpening a knife torwd you fingers can get your finger almost if not cut off i found out the hard not that i cut my finger off i almost cut it off

  • @ShadowPhoenix555 I have finished/sharpened on steel that way for >40 years and never cut myself or even impacted the guard on the steel.Trick is to first not be inept, second concentrate on each pass on the steel and third buy a 12 -14 inch long steel not these short toys.

  • i have a kasumi knife like that win.

  • a car window works good putting the fine edge on after you have the edge set even a lighting element out of a outdoor security light works well i also like the carbid/ceramic combos the angle is pre set so even a beginner could be shaving with his knife lol

  • i have a ceramic stone.. help? oil? no oil?

  • why is the sharpening stone also known as a Japanese water stone? why can't it be a whetstone?

  • Japanese chefs don't do that. Don't cheat on us.

  • @ thatzeisguy well o a katana is not he sharpest but one of the sharpest in the world, the sharpest would have to be a razor blade. but if you want to go to war go with a katana not a razor blade........... and i suck at sharpening knives

  • I have a Arkansas sharpening stone and it aint really doing shit.

  • @sgtschmitty8013 Yeah, Arkansas novaculites require the patience and perseverance of a monk. Best to get a japanese waterstone like a shapton or norton in 3 grits and be done in about 15 mins. Most useful 3 grits are 1000 - 4000 - 8000 which should be good for any task from kitchen knives to straight razors to pocket knives and jackplane blades.

  • @7x57mmMauser Where can i get a Japanese waterstone? Do you know any websites?

  • @sgtschmitty8013 you may want to also check out Murray Carter's channel called "Carter Cutlery" where he shaves with a spoon he sharpened with Japanese waterstones.

  • @sgtschmitty8013

Go to a restaurant supply store.Look in the yellow pages

  • @Niatross1000 Okay.

  • I wish the girl would sharpen my sword with her poontang.

  • Good video have similar one please check out

  • If you don't have the skills for this check out an ez'er way. mustgrill taste and knives watch the entire video.

  • -_____________-

wowwww sharpening a blade toward yourself what a waste of time seeing that makes me question if these morons know anything about knives never sharpen toward yourself like that you slip with a blade you have been sharpening expect stiches -_-

  • @agentgfh If you manage to cut yourself with the stone on a flat surface, holding onto the knife with both hands, you must have been a real dick in a past life or something.

  • @lx45803

what? I am talking about sharpening toward yourself and if the knife slipped you could slice your hand pretty well with the knife not cutting it with the stone

  • @agentgfh Okay, I worded that a bit poorly, but I meant that the stone would be on a stable, flat surface, and that it would be very unlikely for you to cut yourself if you're doing it like they do in this video.

  • @lx45803

Oh I was talking about when she was sharpening it on the sharpening stick and going toward yourself

as long as the stone is on flat surface though you'd be fine most likely

  • they used an asian girl i think thats cool and shes preeeeetty.

  • There's nothing difficult about using an oil stone.

  • what does samuri swords have anything to do with a kitchen knife what kind of a term is katana sharp

  • @Mrrimictaho the blade of a real Katana is pretty much the sharpest blade that exists. They indicated that you can get your knife as sharp as a Katana.

  • @ThatZeisGuy

no, a katana edge isn't the sharpest. The edge of a good straight razor is

  • 使い方間違ってるよ^^^^^^;;;;

  • No you dumbass, samurais use to practise with wooden swords so called bokkens to avoid injuring or killing their opponent while sparring.

  • @dillaOne their were diff ages, the first samurais used dull swords when sparring

  • @dillaOne all i have to say is wooden sword or not its gonna hurt like a bitch

  • @dillaOne it would have been betting if he said that the Samurais used a similar process to sharpen knives. haha. bamboo to preserve their swords? haha. if they didn't use bamboo, there would be a lot of dead students. but he is partially correct though. i wouldn't use my actual sword to spar with either.

  • good video, great model, thanks

  • Hot girl

  • Hahaha that look when she is finished omfg

  • .......WHAT? or it was so they didnt KILL one and other LMAO

  • Remember that to preserve your samurai sharp knife you should cut your veges with a wooden knife . . . . . . . instead.

  • does this work not swords?

    just asking.

  • fine video until she destroyed her knife on that rod. Better to go learn from Murray Carter at Carter Cutlery.

Forget about angles and strokes, LOOK at what you're doing, feel the edge.

  • ill go one better,i think the table shes working on should be see thru, then shes could be doing it naked, and we would see her yummy knife slit holder

  • 2:34 RANDOM KNOWLEDGE!!!

  • Can I omit the rod as I only have a stone??

  • they also used wooden swords not to kill each other? wtf?

  • @Karmitsu072 well thats the main reason but this guys are retarded

  • 2:05 slicing items that have a tough skin like tomatoes and fish.. and humans..

  • 0:00 to skip ad

  • @CombatKnives get ad blocker noob

  • @CombatKnives

    yeah like that fucking works

  • @CombatKnives OR if you have firefox download add blocker pro, problem solved forever :)

  • @CombatKnives FF & AdBlock = Skip and Block ad.

  • mann that probally dosnt work with my fucking combat knife?

  • wrong, didn't use the coarse stone at first and supposed to raise the knife to 25 - 30 degrees on the finishing smooth stone to create a bevel edge. sharpening rods sucks, they're okay but don't polish the edge like leather strops does which are way better.

  • #800

  • wow i just cut myself

  • i heard sandpaper works better

  • Daayum, i love the way she handled that stone, got it all moist and wet. And lousy fun fact: Samurai's used wooden swords during practice, because it was PRACTICE!

  • why is the Asian chick sharpening the knife

  • uh yea i think i knew that alredy...

  • why is this crazy girl sharpening a knife by pulling it towards her? does she plan on cutting herself or summat? craaaaazzzzzyyyyy

  • @PunkTWizz always pull knife towards you. if you push away you risk cutting someone else.

  • did you also know samurais didn't use real swords so they didn't lose their face :o

  • she can sharpen my sword anyday

  • um... no. this isnt right. single sided stone? oil stones more difficult? gtfo.

  • thats a bomb ass asian

  • worst. tutorial. ever.

  • i like a sharp edge on my knifes but my wife hates them she always cuts herself but i like to sharpen mine at a 15 degree angle. and i do not soak my stone i just run water over it and it works well. have been doing it this way for over 50 years now and i am set in my ways but your video was good. but i dont like japanese stones i lived in japan for a few years i like a norton stone best.

  • Well no fucking shit samurais used wooden sticks for practice... who in the hell would use real swords for practice??? haha they must think were stupid >:O

  • woah she's hot!

  • well if it's samurai sharp, I hope the knife would be pattern welded.

  • do we need a cute asian girl too?

  • racist they said it was also called a japanese water stone and then they us an asian chick

  • Thanks for the posting

  • so i am doing it right but not this way i just learnd from my mom

  • A stone? Please change the title to Japanese water stone, not stone. And mention the upkeep that is needed with such stone. Otherwise, decent video.

  • never slice forward

  • Why Howcast? WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "You should be able to feel with your fingernail--carefully--.that a rough bur has developed on the edge"

*as she feels it with the pad of her thumb. LOL

And turns over what appears to be a one-sided stone. LOL again.

There are youtubers and knife forum members not affiliated with any how-to sites that can give you better, more accurate information than this.

  • This video is awfully specific. It should be called "How to sharpen a knife with a Japanese Waterstone" since there are SO MANY kinds of stones and this one focuses on one of them. Obviously the basics will translate to other stones, but soaking in water doesn't. And this is the first time I've heard anyone say oil stones are difficult to use. There are people around the world using them successfully, with oil, water and even dry. Check out the knife forums.

  • You can buy them stones at

    ChefDepot . c o m click on sharpeners !

  • jihad nasheed

  • i wanna creampie the chick in this vid

  • W...T...F

Oil stones and water stones are the same thing. An abrasive which is used to sharpen your tools, only they use oil to prevent clogging as opposed to water, and typically aren't offered in as high of grits, but the motions are all the same.

Go down to a harbor freight, spend 10 dollars on a few cheap diamond stones and you'll get a great working edge. Hell I bring my knives up to 600 grit and refine them on a glass table to a hair-popping edge, think outside the box people!

  • @JesusFuckingChrist84 see magic sander com

  • THAT GIRL IS A NINJA SHIT !!

  • that shun knife is 15%,worst way to get wavy blade

  • @koretell 15% ?

  • FUCK all these steps lol
