  • did calvin and lenni ever get together ?

  • 9:48 lol did they ship hector to live a better life in 1993 brooklyn?

  • hector has a nice smile~sweet and innocent.

    ahhhh, card catalogs. hated those.

  • Card catalogs, I remember those.

  • "Computers with modems can talk to each other." - how adorable an explanation is that <3

  • If your at that age , and don't know how to find books in a library . Then we have serious problems lol

  • save the last dance??? and which chracter was in real world??

  • I am laughing at Tina when she took what Julia Styles' character said so literally @ 8:43 lmao! When she said trashing I think she meant the trash in the compuer NOT literally sticking your damn hands in the trash can haha! I love this show!

  • Alex I love you!

  • Its funny the hispanic kid was on The Real World

  • why did hector look confused when gaby asked him to go to the library with her?

  • Card catalogs and the Dewey Decimal system... Awesome!

  • The second Julia Stiles started going off, i knew it was her....just need to finish this all to see if its true

  • @tapeafriend Uh-uh. Too obvious. If she'd done it, she wouldn't be spouting off about how much she knows about hacking. Not a good way to avoid suspicion.

  • @Gmooreisawesome Yeah i thought about it latter and you're right...its never the obvious one anyway. DAMN ROOKIE MISTAKE!!

  • ghostwriter's all like "hells yea i want to find him! mothafukka kicked me out tha mothafukkin computer!" xD

  • TECHNOLOGY SURELY HAS CHANGED 360!! I USED TO LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SHOW WHEN I WAS A KID!!!! THIS IS MY FAVORITE EPISODE!!! THANKS FOR POSTING!!

  • Damn this is throw back..... i remember me having a huge crush on Tina way back when but hated alex for getting with her... but Julia was a beats way back then

  • Julia Stiles came a lonnnggggg way in her acting career lol

  • Trashing. DUH! You go though their trash and find phone numbers n' shit.

Only the most elite hackers know of such infiltration tactics.

  • Dade Murphy was Max Mouse

  • What's a modem?!?

  • Every year that I was in elementary and middle school the librarian would explain to the students how to use the card catalog. By the time high school started card catalogs were obsolete.

  • @stilllookingaway I remember in elementary school, the librarian got so annoyed with me because i said that i wasn't going to use the card catalog when i grew up. By the time I got to junior high, there were no card catalogs lol.

  • Julia Stiles's character is such a bully. But I do say her acting is amazing.

  • I love the list of computer words

  • hector was sooooo excited cus he has a letter with his adress? he gets it "THANKS!!!!!"

  • lol. Hector got carded! Anyway, it's cool to see those old library card catalogs. "Old School" database. Wonder what the "new kids" 20 years from today will think when they hear about wireless broadband, solid state drives, iPads, quad-cores, flash memory, Blu-ray, Facebook, Google, and other stuff...Thanks again for the great upload. It would be a shame to lose shows like this one.

  • This was my favorit episode of my favorit TV show from when I was a kid. It is still a cool show even years later.

  • What is this "modem" you speak of? It's all so modern!

  • so complicated at the library! The weird thing is that nowadays if we wanted info on anything including computers we'd use a computer to find it. Weird that they never say the word "Internet"

  • is that juila stiles with the nose ring

  • at 1:00 damn look at that modem we came a long motherfucking way and to think that the internet was still in it's embryonic stage back then.

  • Ah the days before schools turned into prisons, with random drug searches and armed police.

  • If only people were really this friendly...

  • LOL! Alex wearing 'cross colors'. Man those were the days. I know i wasn't the only who tried to write neat like they did, in their case books.

  • Man, I remember when getting a Library Card was that simple. Now you have to go through something a lot more complicated. *sighs* I miss the 90's.

  • is that fez from that 70's show?

  • wow juilia styles was a bad actor back then!!!!!!

  • is Julia Stiles's hat made out of a sweater???

  • lol they always try to pin it on Calvin

  • Hey guys reading IS cool!

  • card catalogs....ahhhhh gotta love it

  • What the hell was Julia Stiles talking about? Cowboys riding a dreamwave to nurospace or some shit. She seems like a jerk.

  • So, Julia Stiles was a cute little middle schooler. Isn't she a bit young for a nose ring?

And j/k about the CD, folks. That'd be silly!

  • When Gaby said, "This rotten rat's days are numbered," I thought that she was referring to Hector and his cringe-inducing peppiness.

  • @omondieu lol

  • Wow... things like CDs, floppy disks and dial-up modems are so.... last decade. lol. Talk about dating a show... :) <3 GW!

  • Hector is not a legal citizen, that's why he didn't have anything of substance to show the librarian. Only on PBS would a postcard suffice.

  • tina is so lame.

  • I hate Hector. So gay.

  • Hector iz a retarded faggot. "There sure are alot of bookz in here." LOL

  • The librarian stole Hector's postcard :p

  • 03:00 EPIC!.. EPIC!!

  • I LOVED THIS SHOW

  • I USE TO LOVE THIS SHOW

  • LMAO!!! @ Tina "trashing"

  • LOL @ how nosy Tina was LOL @ her best friend Blabby Fernandez! LMAO!!!

  • LOL @ how many timez they list Calvin as a suspect. Only one case he was guilty! And they never him live it down ever since! LOL @ him likin Lenni & her rejectin him. He couldve done so much better.

  • i love how they send the dumbest character on the show to research in the library

  • Hector was on Real World Philadelphia :P

  • Julia Stile sure loves her computer, or should I say her cyberspace cowboy

  • i love the sound of that dot matrix printer!

  • Hector's voice cracks @7:22 when he says "books". LMAO.

  • XKCD has this episode handled. I will 'shut my face' for the duration.

  • I remember this episode. However, i do not remember the asian broad getting fucking SCHOOLED by Julia Stiles so badly

  • i think erica is on "the stuff"

  • What I was hoping would happen:

"What book would you like to check out today?"

"Well, we got told to check out Neuromancer"

"Excellent choice! You'll be jamming with console cowboys in no-time!"

  • How sad I actually remember who Max Mouse is

  • So cheesy... Yet so awesome... LOL

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, card catalogs. That is ancient. I know they were trying to teach kids how to find books in libraries, but how sad that that knowledge is now obsolete.

  • Anyone else here find it strange how slowly the kids typed in this series? Or the fact that they ALL had the exact same handwriting and they wrote almost as slow as they typed?

    Still a good show, regardless.

  • it because they cant make any mistakes it a tv show remember

  • Again, they should write that Calvin is a "known creep" :P... I love that.

  • can you jam with the console cowboys in cyberspace

  • This is my favorite case!

  • Gaby: GIMME THAT CASE BOOK!

    ME: ever herd of please?

  • ever HEARD of spelling correctly?

  • She's pretty insistent, isn't she?

  • Ghostwriter was leaving cryptic messages on computers *long* before Trinity did it in the Matrix! :D

Wow, this show brings back memories. :)

  • card catalogs oh man i feel so old now... now a days you dont even have to step foot in a library.

  • ....um, what's Julia Stiles doin' readin Neuromancer? That book is not for seventh graders. Sumbody need to pull dat earring out of her nose

  • Eric (Julia Stiles) is a badass in this episode.

  • OMG JULIA STILES~!!! haha she didn't change much when she grew up~!!!

  • "Sure have a lot of books in here" ... I hope so it's a library.

  • Alex was ESPECIALLY fine in this part lol i always had a HUGE crush on him.

  • few librarians are that friendly...

  • i was a friendly one

  • The music playing in the background when Hector gets his library card sounds like something from Sonic! lol

  • Can you jam with the console cowboys in cyberspace?

  • no.... but i bet she can't $p33l{ L337

  • Too bad they couldn't have done a DNA test to find out who chewed that gum. Maybe they'd have nabbed Janice Hall right away.

  • The school paper is now called "The Hurston Herald". It was originally called "The Hurston News" back in "To Catch a Creep".

  • Wow, it's a little scary to see how fast technology advances. In this video, floppy disks, modems, and card catalogs are at the cutting edge of technology. What do you think that means for the future generations?

"Wow, grandpa. I can't believe you used to watch videos with your EYES. That must have sucked."

  • Julia stiles had talent from birth i loved how she played her character.

  • oh the card catalog! i miss them, and the little table pull out thing where you had to put the drawer when you were searching, and the smell of old paper cards...classic...

  • hector is so useless

  • Wow did I get old...the memories.

  • I remember watching this episode around the time I also got my first pc. It was interesting and educational to learn about computer stuff at the same time. GW had some really interesting plots. I always loved when they found out something new about gw like when he could travel time and then the internet in this episode. Even 15 years ago seems like such simpler times, just before technology boomed like never before..

  • Julia Stiles is a hacker! :-)

  • OHHH MY THE GOOD OLE CARD CATALOG

  • Books? To learn about computers? What silly nonsense.

  • "Lenni" looks so different now

  • And gaby too...

  • "Print this out so we can scope the hard copy" - LOL. When first i saw this episode i hated all this crazy slang that was used. I was like " Noone talks like that"

  • I remember when I was watching this episode 10 years on the disney channel on British Sky TV! I only had part 3 on tape!!! Thanks for having uploading these episodes!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That librarian lady plays Roger's wife Trish in all of the Lethal Weapon Movies.

  • 9:48 LOL It says, "Sorry for what I did to you in the van when you were 5. I thought you were your grandmother."

  • LOL! That modem just makes me laugh. My brother and i were addicted to this program when we were kids! Technology has changed a lot after 15 years! :)

  • oh hector...who woulda guessed he'd grow up to be on that triflin' season of the real world...

  • If I was Tina, I would get out of the school paper pronto. Don't like that punk thing nor the leader's attitude. Here's hoping it is just for the show and not real, hate to see her (punk girl) like that now.

  • unfortunately if tina wants to be a journalist, she'd be dealing with erica-types nonstop :( also it's pretty unrealistic they'd hand off a hot story to a new reporter

  • man Hector...you need to smile a little more. haha

  • Haha Juila Stiles! At that time, I didn't even know who she was.

  • Man, Héctor is a very forgettable character. I didn't even remember he was in the show even though I saw it all the time as a kid.

  • @chickensaver I was shocked when I saw him in this. They already have Alex so it is eventual that he will be phased out, which he was. Then they brought into tina?

  • The librarian looks a bit like Audra McDonald.

  • When I first watched this episode, I was in awe at all the advanced technology---computers, modems, communicating with people through a computer, etc. I thought it would be so cool to be able to do that stuff. And now, here I am, doing those very things, and it seems like nothing.

  • "Do you know anything about hackers? Can you jam with the console cowboys in cyberspace?"

    ROFL!

  • @MikeForbess i liked her better in the omen

  • do you notice how everyone has to teach hector everything? if he's such a fuckin retard, why did ghostwriter choose him to be on the team. it slows the cases down when hector's like "duh, what's a clue guys? i don't understand? duh."

  • he's younger than the others.

  • i agree hector is to fuking slow for me and i wouldnt have the patience

  • Don't forget he's having trouble reading and writing but he persevers through it. Ghostwriter saw his perseverance and that's how he's on the team.

  • dude, this makes you realize how much time has passed since we were kids. A modem being this crazy technology "that lets computers talked to one another".

  • and we lived to tell about it, i tell kids in elementary/jr high and they think im like afreakin dinosaur ..cause now its wireless and routers..i hated that internet noise when it first came out..

  • i know, what utter maddness!

  • i think erica is on the "stuff"

  • lol at the kids head at 8:14

  • I've never seen anyone get so excited about a library card-LOL!

  • ROFL! Hector's growing on me... but I still miss Rob DX

  • hahaha!! love how tina just took the whole fuckin trash bag! oh and ive also nvr seen anyone that excited ovr a library card. =] such a great show. lol

  • tina looks hot

  • haha! Julia Styles! her charater thinks she's all bad ass! haha! stupid nose ring!

  • Ugh, Jamal is supposed to be going into high school and still types like a 5 year old

  • LOL

  • @SchweitzerMan LOL They probably had him do it like that on purpose.

  • @SchweitzerMan

I think it's the 80's in the show... Computers were kinda new, I guess, and typing wasn't really a necessary skill for a lot of jobs.

  • @BLACKIESBOY It was the 90s. The show aired from 1992-1995.

  • @UltraVioletGem

    ... The dress screams 80's

  • he was way to hyped to get a libary card

  • i love sideshow gaby! lol

  • Hector was WAY too happy to get a library card!

  • Aw man card catalogs! i haven't seen one of those in ages!

  • Oh my god thank you for this. This was my favorite show as a kid. I loved this episode.

  • wow julia stiles...sin't it?

  • yes it is

  • A Modem...telephone for computers....NAH!!! That will never work!!!! LOL!! :)

    Dag I'm getting old! LOL!!

  • Dial-up Modems is so 90's! Thank goodness for wireless.

  • AMEN! This video would've taken three months to download.

  • How did we live in a world where modems were seperate investments and as big as shoeboxes, and now they're inside your computer the size of post-it notes...my god we are old.

  • I know, though I do have a seperate cable modem, but I remember using dial up and hearing it squeee while it was dialing and then run slow as molasses when you tried to do anything harder then opening a website...

  • i wonder, do u think the drumsticks were there just as a prop? or do u think 1 of the cast members really did play the drums?

  • that's what i thought. i wasn't 100% sure.

  • Puerto Rican Pride! Hector!

  • he was holding drumsticks...

  • what was hector holding at 4:05?

  • of course they would say that on this show, "this library card is like a million bucks" Lol

  • oh man, at 7:22 hector's voice cracks - i laughed pretty hard.

  • I caught that too. lol I'm suprised they didn't reshoot that part.

  • That's what happens when a show doesn't have enough funding to reshoot mistakes. The show is still great, but it is funny to make fun of mistakes like that. :)

  • lmfao. wow. that was one hell of a crack too!

  • "a world where curiosity and imagination equals power!" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, that was sooo badly acted***

  • It's true what she said though:

"It's a world where you're judge by what you say and think, not by what you look like."
